@ Luledino The two mods do not go together, mine was just based on Yenyang's as a starting point. If you go to the description of my mod it will tell exactly which combination of mods are recommended to play with and that should fix your problem.

I downloaded both this and the lotr mod by Irn but when i play the tech tree is just as normal. no "Good" tech or "evil" tech and the tech tree doesnt stop after the medieval era so i had to download a seperate era mod but that doesnt fix the tech tree not looking like irn intended which makes some civs like saruman rly boring since he depends on the unique tech tree.

Crashed my game at like turn 94, some ai civ built a wonder and then my entire game crashed. One of the ai was using the middle earth civs. Current mods installed are Gaia and Sapiens and future worlds I guess.

@nathanieljbrill That's odd, do you want to try the direct download? Are you able to select one of the middle earth characters to play as? Just want to make sure you're not backing out of the modding menus.

I keep unsubscribing and resubscribing but my civs don't have any unique units or buildings?

@Joel_fcl I think it has to do with the colosseum building or something similar. I don't remember if I ever provided a permanent fix for that.

Yeah LOTR Civ5 (my mod, I call it LOTRC) is basically an expansion on or replacement for Yenyang's Middle Earth Civilizations (MEC). It has a lot of the same features (the civs) but modifies them while adding other features.

Precisely: LOTRC requires Yenyang's Middle Earth Soundtrack mod. It is also **recommended** or **meant** to be used with Middle Earth only (removes non LOTR content), and Middle Earth City States. It is incompatible with Yengyang's Middle Earth Barbarians, as I was able to incorporate those features directly into LOTRC. It is also incompatible with MEC itself, again because it basically does the same things but adds more.

If the above explanation still doesn't make sense: In the LOTRC steam page, if you go to discussions and click "view all" you'll see a thread I made with extensive documentation. Near the end of that thread is a section on mod relationships.

@ZR21 If you’re using this mod you should have the former, not the latter. Sounds to me like you enabled a different mod probably LOTR CivV. LOTR CivV has more stuff but he made changes as well. if you want some mix of both mods you’ll need to splice them together yourself.

Great mod! Really been enjoying it. On my second game as Thranduil I noticed that Mirkwood archers and hunting lodge were replaced by lembas garden and mallorn groves. How do I bring Mirkwood archers back? Feel like Woodland Realm needs some superior archery.

Can someone help?
All mods are working correctly but when i start the game i can bot chose production. I tried to chose on all ways but its not working. I would like to play this mod because Lotr is my life. Can someone help!

@Valen For METSL, In the menus make sure to Choose SINGLE PLAYER and CUSTOM GAME to get the new setup menu. You must use the custom game menu.

@LerG There are direct download links on each page. Some ways to play multiplayer don't work well with LUA mods, so you would wan't to use v8 which is downloaded from the archive discussion. Also METSL uses LUA and I'm not even sure if it's configured in a way that would work with multiplayer other than hot seat, which might work. I can't give any more advice on multiplayer because I have never done it. There are lots of links in the description above.

@Ipos1 I am not really developing this mod any more, even though I did some small updates to some of related mods recently because of Irn's LotRC5 mod. He is looking into the issue when he has a chance. We have an idea that it's related to the cities disappearing on PCs. If I feel like it I might look into it but don't count on it. What we're thinking is that you or an NPC are building a lighthouse or circus that is triggering the error/crash.

Hey, great mod, you did an amazing job there!
I have the same issue as some other people on MacOS I think. Around turn 80-90 (in my case 90), the game crashes when I hit the next turn button. It always happens while doing the turns for the city states. The error is reproducible.

@Clampglamp Now that you've removed those lines. It should work on the next new game you play. The one you already started will continue to have the issue. If it's specifically your cities that have the issue, you might be able to delete your circuses and save. restart civ and reload the game.

@constantine_elessar_of_arnor I haven't been able to repeat the error. and It's been many years since I have worked on this project. I don't know what causes the issue. My recommendation is to remove METSL and try again, but the last person I told that too had it still happen.

@Psychosocial If this or any of my other mods does not show up in your mods list after subscribing you should try deleting your mods database cache Its located at C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache\Civ5ModsDatabase.db. Then restart the game and the mod may redownload. If you have trouble with that you can use the Direct Download and put it into you mods folder at C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\.

@hairhelmet2k3 At maximum a civ only has 2 UUs. There is a list that covers all the UUs in the documentation PDF included with the mod. The other models are just graphical. There is not a list of that unless you can read the mods code.

In order to fix the issue where your cities disappear upon building certain buildings.
Go to C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Middle Earth Civilizations (v 9)\XML\MEC_UnitArtInfoCulturalVariation.xml and delete the 6 lines that start with <Buildings> and end with </Buildings>.

Just a PSA for everyone who may use this mod. This mod causes my actual cities to disappear from the game. They'll still be functional but the actual graphic of the city disappears. Such a shame too, I loved this mod.

Development of this project ended more than a year ago. I encourage you to learn how to mod and produce any additional civs that you desire. You are welcome to use my mod as a reference, but please thank me for it and provide a link to this mod or my collection.

civs you TOTALLY need to add: High Elves of Lindon (maybe with a unique elvish ship unit?), Dwarves of the Blue Mountains,(axe throwers!) and the dwarves of the red mountains (not essential, but good for balancing)
