When the core of the mod is finished, making different starting scenarios will be easy.
Great work
Development has been ongoing for both the basic overhaul and Menos and I am preparing updates for both, this month.
I really appreciate what you're doing, and keep up the good work!
But other than the Peloponnesian War I had some thoughts about Corinthian War and Theban Hegemony sure. But it's not in the plans for now.
Gonna update in a minute
I hope this doesn't come across rudely, but I would really like to add back the light hoplites to Athens for the time being and have spent the day researching how to do this, I'm not much of a modder myself lol. Would you be able to please let me know how I would be able to do this? with all due respect for your mod :)
Not sure if you have seen it but I gave light hoplites to the northern guys and their garrison. Not final decision, just a quick one to represent the slightly lower quality of hoplitic warfare from there.
I would just like to ask though, how do I recruit light hoplites as Corinthos?
It's true however that during the start of the campaign Athenians mainly used archers to counter light infantry. As Thucydides tells us, during Demosthenes' Aitolian campaign in 426, when the athenian archer unit routed, there was no way to counter the enemy javelinmen.
Spartans used their younger men who emerged from the phalanx and charged towards the peltasts.
Personally, I like the ones from the vanilla game better
And obviously I am not happy with battles yet, a lot of work is needed
The diplomatic penalty from taking the big cities is a fitting mechanic in my opinion - but I am trying to improve it and I have in my to-do list a mechanic that capitulates a faction when capturing their capital, since the factions in this campaign are the city states themselves.
For now, f you seek to beat your opponent, capture their territories leaving the capital for last and then subjugate them. That's close to how it happened.
...unttil I realized it doesn't work properly because it makes swords float in the air in phalanx formation
When this is fixed I will add them again
But I still have this idea in my to-do list
Since I've been working on that MOD myself for over three years, with over 10,000 changes and thousands of hours of hard work. If you think my work might be useful to your MOD in some way, please let me know if I can help. Best regards from China.
@Maou it will in some cases! For the better I believe
I am curious on how this mod will affect the development of your GC overhaul, though, I was looking forward to its next update!
There is still a lot of work to be done, in all aspects
