I was under the idea it was supposed to stop bullets coming in, not going out, like it used to. Stopping both ways makes it useless.

The math is actually reasonably simple (if you don't do it yourself, let the Quaternion library do the heavy lifting). If you fork it on github with your changes to make it run on 1.3, I can open a PR to fix the math.

@All Sorry but this mod is too complicated for me to fix it seems. The math part for figuring out the shoot-line connected to the shield sphere is a bit out of my knowledge.
Im keeping the mod up if anyone with better math-skill would like to take a look at the code but I will unlist it and remove my comment from the original as to not mislead users.

When I saw this updated by Mlie I had a tiny flicker of hope that somehow they also magically fixed the performance and CE issues the original had but seeing the comments probably not. Thanks for resurrecting it anyway (and all the other mods too! continuously impressive job).

For people using it, just be warned this mod can brutally tank your TPS just by having some shields active and cause massive lagfest at raid times. I would suggest to try building a few shields (even with god mode), flick them on/off, check your TPS, see what's the impact and if it's worth it.

@Thundercraft he didn't make this mod. This is a reuploaded mod that he's updated to the v1.3 since the original designer doesn't appear to support their mod anymore.

Suggestion:

Perhaps the description should be amended to mention that the technology of this mod is unlocked through research? Since there was no mention, I wondered if that was the case or not. (I've seen a lot of RimWorld mods in the past without any research requirement.)

Hmm... Perhaps it should elaborate further, such as how the tech is locked behind 3 separate Spacer research for "Shield Generator", "Large Shield" and "Portable Shield"?

I dont mean to bombard you, so i appologize. Also after my pawns enter the shield. They can no longer shoot until i have them drop there weaposn and reequip them. Its like there stuck in the shield wherever they go after leaving its area.

Also can confirm you cant shoot out of the shields even with it enabled.

@kimty0 I did that and it def gave me back some fps but the second anything hits the shield i lose a ton of frames. Almost single digits again.

@Wimpypumpkin 'Options' -> 'AI Setting' is all disable.
Then, rollback the frame.
Frame drops while calculating the shield.

I'm unable to shoot outside of the shield for some reason. There's the option in Mod settings to enable/disable the ability to shoot outside of shield. It doesn't work even with the setting enabled.

Just aheads up. I tested it a few times. With shields being built. I drop into the single digit frames. The second i destroy them and remove the completely i jump back to 50ish. Not sure what the issue is as theres nothing in the logs.

Hey Mile, Just installed the shield, they are blocking fire inside and out, so your people under them cannot fire out.
