For those who have a problem since version 1.203 (31-Aug-2023) Kami-Kaze posted a workaround in the original mod. I post it here again:

You can fix it by:
1) open <path to steam lib>\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\2575155978\Data\Scripts\MultifloorElevator\Classes\Floor.cs
2) add `using VRage.Game.Components.Interfaces;` at the top (where the other using directives are)
3) change line 124 to `public void HandlePlayerInput(IMyEntityComponentContainer characterCompContainer)`

For some reason this mod and the 2023 fix version are causing massive sim speed drops because of excessive CPU usage on my dedicated server.
When neither elevator mod is used, the sim speed goes back to normal.

For some reason, multiple elevator cabins are spawning in the same shaft for me. Normally it's just one extra. However, when you ride one, it runs you all the way through the extra one giving massive collision damage to the player. The cabin says "do not grind" and creative tools only delete the shaft or the entire grid. I've tried everything I can to delete. The only solution I've found is to delete the entire grid and start over, or cut a massive sized hole in the grid, delete everything within a few blocks distance, and use cannons to launch the thing into the abyss. Haven't tried on planets yet. I can only imagine the chaos it would create down there. If anyone has simpler solutions, I'm all ears.

ok nvm. i deleted my previous post bc i thought any other mod would cause the problem. This "Fix" sadly CTD my game. it happens when i click on the door or randomly midgame. idk what wrong :c

Tried everything, car moves but doors will not open, still get error of not enough power. Have a reactor in PC, Survival mode. Plenty of power. MOD is broken, unless somebody has figured out how to fix it.

I did actually get this working, turns out the steam DS is just dumb. It wouldn't work with this mod ID and throws an error, but I copied the logic scripts from this mod folder to the original mod's folder and set it to read only so it wouldn't re-download anything.

Worked like a charm.

axel, you can delete the elevator carts using your k menu in the info tab to see what grids you own and can remove them from there.

i have 11 floors on my elevator but the elevator will only go up to 11 do i have to remove 3 floors or are the other way to fiks it?

Hi, got F-ton of these errors in MultifloorElevator.log (to the ammount of it being several GB large)

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Vicizlat.MultifloorElevator.MultifloorElevator.GridIsRotating()
at Vicizlat.MultifloorElevator.MultifloorElevator.UpdateBeforeSimulation()

any clue or possible fix?

This is working on 1.201, with a caveat that the buttons inside the elevator only respond when you click them with the mouse, not when you activate them using a gamepad. They highlight like they should when I focus on them with the cursor, but I'm guessing the 'action' is intercepted by the containing frame as it's highlighted as well. All 671.4 hours I've spent with this game have been using a controller, so this is kinda painful. I don't suppose there's a simple fix for this you'd be willing to make?

Mine built correctly. And worked fine. But when went to reload wouldnt work again. So demo'ed them. When rebuilt them exactly the same had power issue. But 4 total elevators and would stop working randomly.

But ya I had couple outside rover since they pretty tough.

Also I just discovered that all elevator blocks are 2-3x more durable than light armor with the elevator rotor being just over a third as durable as heavy. (For integrity reference light armor: 2.5k, heavy: 16.5k, 1 block filler(elevator weakest): 4.98k, and ether rotor (elevator strongest per single block): 6.3k.) So don't be afraid to have them as part of the exterior of a ship or station.

One last thing, if you have issues with the floor numbers after finishing new floors or modifying an existing elevator's block composition, just move the floor offset slider a notch and back (reload also works.) The floor offset slider is located in the terminal of the elevator rotor (along with cabin lights and music.) The offset is based on the bottom of that particular elevator (meaning different elevators on the same grid can have different offsets.) The default offset is 0 with the bottom floor as 1, an offset of -1 makes the bottom floor 0 and an offset of 1 puts the bottom floor at 2, etc. Hope this was helpful to.

For the people who keep saying it's broken or not working, have you read the description from the original mod page for proper elevator construction? If not someone from earlier in the chat copied it over as a discussion which you can check the discussions tab for or use the link to the original mod provided by this page's author.
I will also discuss some solutions to 2 problems that you might have for the initial elevator set-up. First is based of which elevator rotor you want/are using. If it's the elevator rotor base you CAN'T use the bottom floor block, you have to use a middle floor block (ether one) as the first floor (you CAN have filler blocks in between.) If it's the plain elevator rotor you MUST start with the bottom floor block followed IMMEDIATELY by the rotor for it to work.

Second is that there has to be at least 2 floor blocks and that the top floor MUST be a top floor block, otherwise the elevator won't register as functional. The top floor block only has to be placed and connected by elevator blocks to the rotor and another floor for the elevator to count as complete. This means that you can use the elevator to travel between finished floors (as long as the blocks in between the floor and the rotor are done) even if the top isn't finished.
Sorry about the wall of text, but I hope this helps some people with the elevators. Would help with the functional elevators becoming non-functional problem, but I haven't had any issues with them on my over 2 month old world running well over a 100 mods.

This works for us on my dedi server. We don't get frozen when it's moving. It can be a bit janky when adding floors or modifying it at all once it's been built but otherwise is works very good. Much better than pistons, sensors and timer blocks.

Does anyone know if the "freezing" of the player to the elevator when its in motion is intended? it only happens with the cargo elevator, not the small elevator.

when you destroy the elevator the music keeps playing and you have to leave the game for it to go away

Mod UI now displays objects in Russian language which now makes it fairly difficult to know what object your actually placing. Seems that all other VCZ mods are still in English. Other than that the mod still does work.
