@Lumi so sorry, I thought I was subscribed to this and only now decided to check out things I've missed.

This particular mod is centered around Thrumbos because it is an Incident so it can trigger a Ritual. But it can serve as an interesting example for creating your own ritual if you wish to venerate some other animal. I don't recall why I tagged it as absolutely requiring Royalty since all it really needs is the Thrumbo event.

Is Royalty a hard requirement? Because i've been meaning to to play without Royalty for a while since i dont agree with some of the additions.

It hadn't been planned, but it could be made that you can substitute the role

Will there be any future plans for veneration despite not having an animal specialist?

@ParamnesiaGirl It is activated through a Ritual Spot, Altar, or Nature Shrine. It also requires an Animals Specialist to lead it.

Hi, whenever I have the thrumbos passing incident, I can't seem to figure out how to activated this mod though my religion has the ritual. Do I have to do it from a specific spot? Like my ritual altar or an effigy etc.?

@CryoChick That would be great, thank you!

I may see about helping all yall
I am rusty on code but definitely used to be good with it.

@IceMaverick Also something that was considered, but the key thing is that this hooks onto an Incident to make the ritual available. There aren't Incidents for when other animals spawn (except in mods mentioned by CryoChick, so that is possible). I may eventually see if I can update the framework to send obligation trigger notifications on animal spawn, but I'm currently working on rituals that consume Things and probably won't get to either that or the Alpha Animals/Forsakes Fauna rituals until that is done.

That said, if anyone wants to join the Custom Ritual Framework modteam, you might be able to help speed some of this up! Feel free to pop into the Discord and offer your services. :)

I think it'd be a neat piece of work if a ritual like this could hook into the "Venerated Animal" category for the various ideologies. While Thrumbos are neat and all, it'd be nice to have something more dynamic that works with animals significant to your specific ground.

@King Zog As I was looking into the feasibility of doing so, probably not for some time, unfortunately.

could you make one for red foxes

I will look into it then!

Sorry for my butchering of spelling and grammar

Alpha animals has gallstros wanders. Colladal areofleet migration and stuff like that. Forsakes fauna (the one with behemot) also has an event that triggers

@CryoChick The framework would likely have to be expanded for this. The reason there can be a Ritual Obligation when Thrumbos arrive is because Thrumbos Arriving is an Incident. I'm not too familiar with Alpha Animals, so if they have Incidents that fire, such an Obligation could be written.
CryoChick Aug 16, 2021 @ 8:36pm
I am not sure if this is possible but could you make it so it can be done with any wild animal instead of just thrumbo? (I think it could be cool moreso for some mods like alpha animals with their gallatros and behemot)
