Works perfectly fine to pretty much all long ranged weapons!
bagmelter Oct 27, 2022 @ 4:33pm
Hi, do you plan on updating this for 1.4?
Michiko Oct 25, 2022 @ 1:06pm
After some initial testing, it appears to work just fine. I haven't tested too much though, so I can't verify if there's no issues whatsoever.
Michiko Oct 21, 2022 @ 10:14am
Anyone tried this for 1.4 yet?
TechnoFox Sep 17, 2022 @ 11:15am
legit the answer to one of the main issues I had with rim combat fixed, absolue legend

One of the best mods out there.
Nianor Sep 11, 2021 @ 2:09pm
Just checked, Vanilla Expanded Framework increases the circle generator max radius, so listing that as a recommended mod might make sense.
Nianor Sep 11, 2021 @ 2:04pm
@Rooknight @Denneisk Yep, Rimworld's vanilla circle calculator maxes out at... I think it's 55 or so? I believe a certain mod bumps it up, because I think rangefinder works for my save with absurdly long range weapons, but I'm not actually sure which one it is. If I find out in testing for fixing a totally separate mod I'm working on poking at, I'll let you know.
Rooknight Aug 22, 2021 @ 7:01pm
Alright, thank you. I was just wondering about that. I also found out it doesn't work with the Great bow too.
pupinator Aug 22, 2021 @ 6:38am
@denneisk Maybe something (relatively, no idea how complex the code for this is) simple like modifying the thresholds for each range (eg short, med, long) in the context of accuracy to give it a boost instead of needing to do something far more complex and time consuming? Because while this is nice to be able to start shooting at a more reasonable distance, feels weird that anything past a certain range is pretty much impossible to hit due to the way its calculated
Denneisk  [author] Aug 22, 2021 @ 4:32am
@Rooknight I haven't used Range Finder, but there may be an issue when drawing circles higher than a certain radius. If the map is too small, it'll give up. This is a vanilla problem as far as I know.

@pupinator This does not modify accuracy values. However, I could try to change that.
pupinator Aug 21, 2021 @ 6:38pm
are accuracy ranges and values adjusted based on these new ranges or no?
Rooknight Aug 21, 2021 @ 6:07pm
I usually rely on Combat update but this mod makes it realistic a bit so I like it too.
Vergial Aug 21, 2021 @ 2:56pm
I am so upset that this mod hadn't even shown up to me until now. This is lovely.
Rooknight Aug 21, 2021 @ 2:02pm
I found a problem that might be a bug with your mod (Factoral Range Firefights). I'm currently using this mod on 1.3 with other mods installed as well.
The issue is regarding this mod's compatibility with another mod named Range Finder by Brrainz.

As far as I know, the [bolt action rifle] is the only item affected by this. When using both mods together, range finder can't find the range of the weapon. I have tested to see it's range but it seems that it's not out of the map so it comes up invisible.

I wanted to check with you first about this, I can make a comment on their mod if you think it's necessary. Thank you.

@Crippsey I haven't checked, but they should apply to turrets as well.
☆GrimGrin☆ Aug 14, 2021 @ 10:35pm
Do the settings apply to turrets as well?
Elth Aug 14, 2021 @ 8:52pm
Such a common sense mod.
balzacvondouchenberg Aug 13, 2021 @ 1:03pm
based thank you
Denneisk  [author] Aug 13, 2021 @ 10:00am
I pushed an update that should add CE support now, however.
Denneisk  [author] Aug 13, 2021 @ 5:28am
Unfortunately, this isn't CE compatible. I might look into it later.
balzacvondouchenberg Aug 12, 2021 @ 5:26pm
combat extended compatible? always thought that combat extended ranges were too short
Michiko Aug 11, 2021 @ 2:18pm
They're in the Trees is a great mod. I'm hoping for an update to that one too. Adds some tactical depth as you gotta work around trees and stuff. Worked very well with the Long Range Firefights mod back in 1.2.
Denneisk  [author] Aug 11, 2021 @ 12:42pm
@condottiere I never used that mod. Don't worry about, everyone wants updates.
condottiere Aug 11, 2021 @ 11:44am
This is a great fork -- I had tried ChickenBites84's original, but felt the range overrides crudely flattened one weapon performance variable. Thank you!

Zero request to fork/update another mod; mostly asking out of curiosity: do you also use CB84's They're in the Trees?
5katz Aug 11, 2021 @ 11:39am
sweet thanks!
Denneisk  [author] Aug 11, 2021 @ 11:33am
Added a small 1.2 update. Should work exactly the same. Thanks for asking.
5katz Aug 11, 2021 @ 8:55am
nope, throws an harmony error on load, so i dont think it works on 1.2.
Denneisk  [author] Aug 11, 2021 @ 8:22am
@5katz It should work on 1.2, but I haven't tested it.
5katz Aug 11, 2021 @ 8:15am
'this work on 1.2?
