Parts 1+2+3 = MAC isn't PC
Nothing else to waste my time with.
** GOOD BYE -- all.
Good bye, trolls.
**EXASPERATED SIGH** part3:
if YOU (or anyone!) happens to know the exact cause of the crash on a MAC, then please enlighten all of us with your knowledge, share the error in the code and the steps needed to fix it.
If you do not know the reason. Then ... "no one has ever figured out why" is still valid.
Don't call me out as "wrong" on a statement that is indeed, actually "correct".
**EXASPERATED SIGH** part2:
And that is not to say that it cannot be figured out, as your next message states (summarised), just that no one has done that ... yet.
I'm also not curtailing/attacking your freedom of expression in any way either. But I am correcting YOUR false statement/information .. if YOU want to call someone out as "wrong", check your own facts first.
**EXASPERATED SIGH** part1:
This round of back-and-forth between us started because YOU called me out as "wrong" on the statement of "no one ever figured out why" .... which is incorrect.
My statement was not wrong.
Yes this mod, as you stated: "PS; Astral Descend's (and gang) mod works just fine here." .. does indeed work perfectly fine .. on a WINDOWS BASED PC.
.. however my comment specifically related to this mod on a MAC iOS as was the discussion. Which has issues. Repeatably shown/manifesting as a crash around the first Retaliation mission ... and (I'll correct it so you are happy) :: "to my knowledge, thus far, no one has ever figured out why, this mod crashes, on that operating system, at that specific juncture"
Bienvenue, mystérieux inconnu.
pretty sure we are on Steam, and that anyone can remove messages or comments if the proper rights are given...
There isn't any freedom of expression on someone's else mod, that's basic logic.
And if you wish, I'll even say it in french so you understand it better,
"Ferme la, merci"
Between skills and anyone's attitude(s) - if someone claims *IMPOLITELY*, I couldn't or still can't help - it's theirs from the past and even for the present.
I stepped to some 'challenge' & his weird remark - should have known *HE* again would hit and insult whatever i share or simply write online.
So F'c' him too.
Nobody has a right to attack other's "Freedom of Expression". He tried, he still fails, he will forever.
PS; Astral Descend's (and gang) mod works just fine here.
That's all fair and good but still doesn't answer or alter the initial phrase...
thus far, no-one has figured out why THIS mod, crashes on MAC.
If you happen to know the EXACT code line that needs fixing then please share it with us.
Otherwise, with all due respect, fuck off.
As stated repeatably, previously, in various other forms of contact, between steam and discord ::
I do not wish to have anymore dealings with you, please stop @'ing me in stuff. Continuing to do so is just abusive, stalker-like and borderline harassment.
Okay then... let's declare the exact method to fix such compatibility issue between PC and MAC.
Master the coding tricks of *Linux* to refine --this-- mod declarations and its custom UC class file.
Meaning, help comes from the skills someone can either find or acquire directly from the authors team of multiple other codes which already discovered a variety of proper solutions.
All i've wrote (somehow) is that knowledge is found after years of education. Coders & modders earned and/or paid + worked for these skills.
Example; My "SwappIMG" toolset mod that provides external controls of procedural hooks to GFX assets. Highly technical stuff that TWO of us had to work on together for months.
Yes, so - good luck... there ARE plenty of UC solutions in many other XC2 mods on Steams.
"Both my laptops have such variable & distinct custom calibrations"
"The structural codes aren't dependant on synchronized or mutual dispatch calls --- as DEFINED by dual but still external controls."
Thats just stuff I could say like "the internal structure is repurposed to limit the integral damage of providing different values to call the calibrations needed to add compatibility"
Gee man, are you trying to insult my communicating ability in perfecto snobby British English?
You are '''almost''' right.. because in Québec/Canada some (me also) of us are born as Francophone with EXTREME pride of our cultural origins.
And -- being bilingual in North America is a must.
Soooooooo;
Por Favor, Niet -- Irogato.
Is this reply polite enough for a vast majority of highly variable incognito readers here and online??
;)
*** Peace on Earth and let's hope together "hate" will stop for eternity. ***
Gracias. Got that?
I understand the individual words you use, but the phrases and the whole? That's just gibberish.
Quote; ** no one ever figured out why **
Wrong...
Firaxis developped XCom as a (---/PC\---) OS with a few indirect provisions for critical (minimal) compatibility MAC factors.
The structural codes aren't dependant on synchronized or mutual dispatch calls --- as DEFINED by dual but still external controls.
Then, the whole trick for modders is to TRY adapting any if not all booting conflits. Both my laptops have such variable & distinct custom calibrations.
this mod has always had issues on a MAC unfortunately (same as LWotC), no one ever figured out why, but it has something to do with internal file structure of the MAC vs Windows versions.. the crash happens normally after or during the first retaliation. Yet there is nothing code wise that should make it happen. :( one of the mysteries of xcom2 modding :(
Good to know Soul is a 'helpful person' when he's not busy crashing out and throwing hissy fits.
I'll be sure to bear that in mind, as you clearly feel that your opinion is important.
I think his deranged ranting speaks for itself, personally.
Go touch some grass and maybe stop projecting so hard, its sincerely difficult to parse out exactly what you're trying to say when you're so busy trying to put words in my mouth and making weird jumps of logic.
Bro randomly capitalizes words and repeats the same thing slightly re-worded multiple times. I'm sorry you've got something actually wrong with you.
Like Evil understood, cause he have a BRAIN,if it was actually buggy, more would say it,DUH.
So its not on it,its on another mod and boohoo you have to find it like a big boy in your claimed mini mod list, sorry it hurt you I said it outloud for you to get it?
Just say from the start "its too hard with it I'm a child who don't like hard stuff" instead of looking for excuses to not use it,seeing how hard you cry about it.
I expect you've already disabled LS, so it doesn't really matter, but I would look again at potential mod conflicts. LS only adds instant projects and doesn't have an engineer slot. So, you having problems with the project completing with an engineer assigned means there is definitely something else making changes to the living quarters at the very least.
@Rusty good to get some actual information from someone who actually has something to share.
I get that you're probably kinda socially challenged, Soul, but acting like a pretentious redditor doesn't really do anything besides demonstrate how neurodivergent you are.
You can already play play this version of CI without it. Living Space and Prototype Armoury are not hard requirements. They are part of the intended balanced experience though.
Again, sorry you ran into issues.
Living Space is also kind of just a pointless chore mod that doesn't really add anything to the experience besides hassle. I absolutely love the other aspects of Covert Infiltration, and I think the mod overall would be a lot better without Living Space as a hard requirement.
I'm using this mod, Sparks B Gone, Mec Troopers Redux, and several of the bridge overhaul mods for individually built items (100s of others, but these are the ones that seem related).
Does anyone know why the Spark weaponry isn't showing up, and if it possible to get it fixed mid campaign? I'm dozens of hours in and don't want to restart, but I have several Mec Troopers who are going to quickly become useless.
appDebugMessagef
"Error detected attempting load of package: CovertInfiltration"
It just seems as if information that I had a raid pop up somehow got confirmed, but because I loaded back it put in another mission instead. Or maybe just really really unlucky but there's no way you're supposed to play CI without a raid for alloys until june that's completely cooked.
The objective was still written out at the top left but no chest was revealed at the beginning of the map and I revealed the whole map to confirm not a single box spawned. This was at the end of april which was pretty late, and I think there was a supply raid in march that popped but, but I had to load an earlier save and then it's almost like it skipped the march mission. Might be unrelated idk. Also I had Eclipsezr parcels and Eclipsezr EW/EWI parcels enabled - maybe they altered the mission? Modlist is stuff from Odd's season 7 & 9 modlists. Lots of stuff, but I played with a similar setup before and didn't encounter this.
B) Plenty of Bridge mods exist for custom weaponry and if they don't it's just config work to make them happen
C) I've never had any issues with any weapon mod once it's been setup correctly running Prototype armoury
D) You don't NEED to run Prototype Armoury, the game will complain about it missing, the expected balance will be off, but you can run this mod and use Squad-upgrades perfectly fine.
