Damn it. Then it looks like I will have to rewrite some code. I didn't see any compilation errors, when I opened it up yesterday.
Zeratir Aug 13 @ 8:29am
ok so after some testing, it seam that when I choice a color to auto dye with in appeal policy window, my pawn completly ignore my appeal policy, when I choice no color, they start using my appeal policy as normal
Ornament  [author] Aug 12 @ 8:25am
would u guys help me out testing, if i release a 1.6 version, but i am not able to test it completely?
Yevgeny Prigozhin Aug 9 @ 2:57pm
Shoigu!, Gerasimov!, where is 1.6!
Dubious Duck Aug 7 @ 4:21pm
This mod was a godsend for my themed runs in 1.5. Thank you for making it. I wait patiently for the 1.6 odyssey update to start my next fashion minded cult. Thanks again and love the mod.

Hi,

yes this will be updated in the future. However, since I'm still on 1.5 it may take a few days.
Seigneur Gorbin Jul 13 @ 7:25am
Hi there, thank you for the awesome mod I've been rocking for many, many hours in game. Any chance we get a 1.6 Update ?
Cibo Jul 12 @ 1:22pm
is this going to get updated to the new version of rimworld? im kinda curious since nothings been said yet,
Maxwell Jul 5 @ 7:22am
AutoDye is good.
Coolchilion Mar 19 @ 5:45pm
Hey no rush, work on it when you have the time, I'll give the other self dyeing mod a try and see if that one causes the same errors
Ornament  [author] Mar 19 @ 1:16pm
@Coolchilion are you using modified outfit which can not be colored?
Basicially it tries to set the desired color of something which can't be colored.

I'll search for a way to prevent this. However my worklife is currently a bit taxing, it might take a while.
Coolchilion Mar 19 @ 10:12am
When I set it to "Favorite Color" I keep getting this error spamed

@King You can assign a color to an outfit in the outfit policy screen. That's basically all you can do to interact with it.
If a colonist is wearing an outfit which has a color assigned to it, he will automatically walk to the dying station and dye his outfit.
King Dec 17, 2024 @ 2:42pm
How do you use this mod? There is nothing in the description to say how you engage with it, the only thing in settings is the coordinates of the auto dye button, which I can see no where on screen. I checked the overlay when interacting with the style station, nothing. I checked the overlay when viewing items of clothing, nothing... I dont know where I need to go, to engage with the mod, and the description, does not describe what I need to do.
Rowlet Jul 10, 2024 @ 7:24pm
Works for me
Maddog Jul 8, 2024 @ 12:04pm
I got you bro, ill leave a comment here if I have success
Ornament  [author] Jul 7, 2024 @ 12:35pm
I have no save which is working and is far enough to test the mod. I did fix all the compilation errors and hiccups and repositioned the button according to the new policy gui. Could you please help me out with testing?
Please use this version at your own risk, although I did no change to the logic itself and kept the one working from 1.4.
Maddog Jun 27, 2024 @ 4:12pm
I'd love to see this get updated to 1.5 :)
DIOX May 4, 2024 @ 4:13am
this is good mod but not work anymore
Ornament  [author] Apr 13, 2024 @ 2:36pm
Yes, but I'm pretty busy right now with real life stuff. I may do this in one of the following weekends.
[JC]The New Taco Bell Guadalupe Apr 12, 2024 @ 4:13pm
Will this mod be updated for 1.5?
phflack Apr 5, 2024 @ 10:51pm
Currently broken for rimworld 1.5, still works for 1.4
Harmony has already been updated for 1.5, but this mod also needs/will need an update
Hopefully we get pretty colours for our pawns again
Rips Sep 28, 2023 @ 12:54pm
Thanks great mod. Straight forward and easy to use especially compared with the other self dyeing mod. Pick outfit and set to colour including automatic ideology colour in the regular Manage Outfits UI. So simple feels like part of the Vanilla base game
Ornament  [author] Aug 23, 2023 @ 10:35am
@Noblessed You can dye them according to the pawns ideology. There is an extra button for it.

Sorry for not adding additional features the last few months, i have to challenge some irl problems.
Noblessed Aug 21, 2023 @ 3:06pm
Is it possible for them to dye accordingly to ideology? or only their preferred colors?
WireFire2 Jun 21, 2023 @ 10:44pm
Such a simple mod. Works great.

Would be cool if we could pick the color of each layer for an outfit.
Rubber Ducky Jun 18, 2023 @ 3:31pm
When dying layers/pieces why not make it follow and order of importance. so if you pick the torso middle to be dyed red then pick the torso outer to be blue and then the on skin torso to be green then legs to be purple. The arnour that occupies the middle/outer torso turns blue and the jumpsuit onskin torso/legs turns green
Wojtazonix Dec 31, 2022 @ 9:36am
yes in many mods there are some multiple layers clothes for eg. some armours have middle and top
Ornament  [author] Dec 31, 2022 @ 9:15am
@Wojtazonix: Good suggestion, I will take a look into it. Do you know if there is any clothing with multiple layers covered? Maybe I could implement something like a priority system.
I need to think about it.
Wojtazonix Dec 29, 2022 @ 2:22am
Maybe add option to dye, not specific apparel, but layers so there is at least that much customization?
Ornament  [author] Nov 19, 2022 @ 2:25pm
@Annabellee
Depends on how the styling stations are modded.
I guess that it's unlikely, that there is a conflict, because the mod adds the "desire" to recolor the outfit to the pawn, and does not touch the styling station itself.

@Criz Yes, you can add a mod with more colors. I added a compatibility patch a while ago which expands the gui for the color selection with a scrollbar if neccessary.
Criz Nov 18, 2022 @ 10:40pm
more colours possible?
Annabellee Nov 18, 2022 @ 3:11pm
does this work with modded styling stations?
winter(ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ Oct 21, 2022 @ 4:00pm
thank you for your work
Ornament  [author] Oct 21, 2022 @ 2:16pm
Okay, all my old savegames won't work because of other mods. I need to advance in a new game far enough to do styling to properly test it. The mod itself throws no errors, but I can't test it without advancing in a new save :D
Ornament  [author] Oct 21, 2022 @ 2:04pm
I managed to compile a 1.4 version. But before I upload the new version I need to do atleast basic testing.
I've seen stuff in the styling station code with babies which I ignored at the moment. And I'm not sure if this will cause some weird stuff or if it is fine. I think it's fine though.
winter(ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ Oct 21, 2022 @ 1:47pm
good luck i love your mod. hope to have it again soon.
Ornament  [author] Oct 21, 2022 @ 1:41pm
I'm onto it, there is something different in the functions I used and I can't just recompile it for 1.4. Instead I have to look stuff up in the source code of Rimworld.
It's a while ago since I did some modding for Rimworld and I need to get used to it again.
winter(ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ Oct 21, 2022 @ 1:27pm
UPDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE
Zanthe Sep 1, 2022 @ 12:35pm
There is actually a mod like that already. It's called "Craft with Color" by....K something...Kathanon? Idk.
TaM_tHe_JaM Aug 24, 2022 @ 3:41am
Looking forward to the possibility of your mod idea @Werewolfie
Ornament  [author] Aug 5, 2022 @ 12:04pm
@Werewolfie
Thanks for the really interesting approach!
I thought multiple times about making coloring for individual pieces distinguishable, but came up with no good concept (because of the multiple layers etc).
Coloring the item on creation is definetly an interesting approach.
I am away this weekend but then I'll have some time to do some coding again. But first I wanted to create another mod which is missing in my opinion. AutoHunt, a simple icon next to the animal in the hunting tab, to automatically hunt certain animals as soon as they appear on the map.
After that i will take a look at your suggested approach, but when I implement it, it will be a new mod.
Werewolfie Aug 5, 2022 @ 12:25am
Thank you @Ornament for a mod that absolutely should be a Vanilla feature. I do have a question/request: instead of or in addition to coloring an entire outfit one way, would it be possible to for example at autodyeing as an option for item crafting? Maybe Dye would be one of the crafting components when needed and the resulting piece of clothing would be the specified color, or maybe the instruction to color a certain way would stick with the item (I don't know what's feasible) and the pawn who wears the item would immediately go an auto-color it? My use case is I'd like specific pieces of apparent to be Ideo color, and others can (perhaps even should) be whatever color, I guess preferably "favourite color". Your robes will always be dark brown, but your pants can be whatever you want.
Ornament  [author] Aug 2, 2022 @ 1:00pm
@Polarbark no it doesn't require any other mod besides Harmony.
However it does require the RimWorld Ideology DLC, because the whole Dye mechanic is coming from it.
Polarbark Aug 2, 2022 @ 11:57am
Does this require the Dye mod?
CaptArcticWolf Jun 29, 2022 @ 4:21am
Ok thanks
Ornament  [author] Jun 6, 2022 @ 6:47am
@CaptArcticWolf Which button do you mean?
The button to set up the autodye is in the corresponding outfit menu. At the same place where you can set the filter.
The menu to move the button in the outfit menu is in the mod options.
CaptArcticWolf Jun 6, 2022 @ 1:24am
Uhh where is the button supposed to show up exactly? main hud right?
