I'm very sure the issue is related to using Project Injury Reactions though. Or Anims for PiR ACE.

Just tried with my mod collection. Yeah something's conflicting and causing save games (in singleplayer) to break when loading them. Example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2978683071

Tried with just my own modpack and only your mod unloaded and saves and loading work just fine.

To experiment my old fix, I added official ace3 mod's "ace_noidle.pbo" and "ace_noidle.pbo.ace_3.15.2.69-d1a631b1.bisign"-
dropped it right into your "@[WIP] Apricot's Enhanced Idle Animation ACE" mod folder and...
saving and loading works again.

Honestly no idea what's going on here. Maybe I'll just cut my losses and lose this mod. :steamsad:

More of a mod collection but yeah I just call it a pack for stuff to load. Can check it out on the sidebar where it says "See all 6 collections (some may be hidden)."

Anyway, it could possibly be an incompatibility of this mod when used alongside
- ACE3 for Project injury Reaction (PiR) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1974617455

and

That's right, this mod redesigned the animation that was originally included for April Fool's Day, but it seems to be practical in its own way. I've used it a few times to shoot videos. After that, I abandoned it because it got in the way in multiplayer COOP.
The animation of looking into the muzzle is a remnant of that.

Originally, I included an animation that would make it dance when it becomes idle.

Ah, you had this in your modpack. OK...

Perhaps the issue is gone now then. I'll have to check out when I finish rebuilding my mod pack and load this mod again (thanks for making it public again too). I'll reply here if anything happens. :aquaman::steamthumbsup: Hopefully there's nothing wrong afterall- just ace being broken sometimes.

I tried it in the Single Player Showcase Infantry and the only error I got was "Setting ace_medical_ai_enabledFor changed mid-mission...". This should be a problem of ace itself, so this mod shouldn't be related...
What mod configurations and missions did it occur on? Although I only go with cba_a3, ace and thisMod.

It's not a problem. Yeah I didn't see it much of a April Fools mod because the idle animations were so cool when I lower weapon and my character starts scanning around him than the default "stare into the distance" stance. Makes them more alive. :jake::steamthumbsup:

And since this mod was abandoned a long time ago... it is no longer supported.
However, since this is a fairly simple mod, it can be modified immediately with a little knowledge.

I am satisfied with "Apricot's Re-Enable ACE IDLE Animation".
(Originally, the other versions was a bonus I made after making "Re-Enable", and was prepared for April Fool's Day. It's not supposed to be used in normal play)

Huh I did use Project Injury Reaction's ACE version but I don't think that was caused by it.
Try playing in a singleplayer mission and saving. Then load that singleplayer save and you should get the outdated ace_noidle error.

That's what I recalled long ago before going to get the latest ace's ace_noidle.pbo and dropping it in your mod.

If that doesn't bring up any errors, I guess it's on my end with some other ace mod that I've long uninstalled by now.

Unfortunately, I could not find and reproduce the outdated ace_noidle.pbo error in my environment. Can you provide error screens and missions?
This mod only references ace_noidle.pbo(cfgPatchClass:ace_noidle) in @ace, so outdated shouldn't appear...
(Reason for reference, this is a load order issue)
In fact, I still use "Apricot's Re-Enable ACE IDLE Animation", which is almost the same as this except for specifying the animation, but I've never had that error.
Maybe the old ace_noidle.pbo mixed in with another mod or somewhere?
The ace will show an "outdated error" if you have an older version of their mod. Since ace_noidle.pbo is not originally included in this mod, it shouldn't be outdated in the first place.

ace_noidle.pbo is outdated for this.

Ace got recently updated so taking the noidle.pbo from it and pasting it into this addon's folder will fix the error that prevents starting a mission.

Sorry, the ACE config I used as a base was obviously wrong. I was using it as a base and it was going wreck.

Something seems to be wrong with the crouch idle animation with pistol.

The player always stands up for idle instead of the crouch idle animations. :jake:

Oh, you were using the PIR version of ACE (with out noidle)!
I also use PIR alone from time to time, but never combined it with one with ACE.
In that case, try a non-ACE version of this mod (enh-idle). This is because this mod overrides the noidle included in the regular version of ACE.

And ... oops.
I think it can be fixed with a simple error, so I'll fix it.

Managed to fix my problem. I used Project Injury Reaction's ace which had no "ace_noidle". So I had to take "ACE_NOIDLE" from official ace and put it in this mod folder for idle animations to work again. Awesome mod. Thanks Apricot! :aquaman:

Edit: Sometimes I get "No entry 'bin/config.bin/CfgPatches/APR_enhanced_idle_ace.units'." but can continue like normal and idle animations still work.

Maybe in future update you can include ace's "no_idle" as a precaution.

I'll try loading how you suggested. I want to play with player idle animations so this is a godsend mod for me. :aquaman:

Also, this mod currently only changes the player's IDLE, not the AI, so we're adding new animations only when the player is gun down and standing with a rifle equipped.

Crouching or for pistols and unarmed idle are currently no change from vanilla (but restored version of old idle).
This add-on does not add any new animation files.
Simply uses the original animations from Arma3 aka vanilla.

Of course, the IDLE of AIs with melee weapons cannot be changed.
It runs its own animations and requires complex script changes.

I've tested and it's works fine with out any changes.
In other words, I can't reproduce that problem your talks.

Make sure you load this mod after the ACE please.
If possible, load IMS after this mod as well.

I can make that compatibility, but I'm not sure that works fine.
IMS idle animation may have been disabled because it has a negative effect on IMS functionality.

Could you maybe make a patch for this (and non-ace) to work with Improved Melee System?

IMS seems to disable idle animations altogether and there doesn't seem to be a way to re-enable them without outright removal of the mod.
