Since this mod has been reported working in 1.6 I added it to the No Version Warning-mod

I’ll try to get it updated so that it at least doesn’t break in the settings menu anymore some time soon-ish, as well as the compatible version. I haven’t really been playing Rimworld recently though, so it probably won’t get more features from my end any time soon.

However, unless the Rimworld devs change how the lines are drawn (by changing the method signature, for example), this mod will keep working regardless of version warnings. This did happen in 1.3, so it’s possible.

If anybody wants to make a pull request to add additional lines it handles, please feel free!

Also, to clarify, it isn’t just changing things in the XML. It uses reflection to intercept calls to the method that draws the linkable lines and modifies the CIL bytecode to use a different version of that method that takes an additional argument, which is where we set the color.

I can confirm this is functional in 1.6 (lines are much thicker / brighter). However, the settings menu is broken (just throws errors and is blank).

yeah settings with XML Extensions block everything as you can't close the settings for this mod...

Hey, uh... Going to the mod's setting in the Mod Option Menu... completely prevent you from switching to any other mod, so you can no longer change the setting of any other mod.

Hi! Thanks for the great mod! Would it be possible to have an option to make the lines drawn between linkable buildings draw over the buildings? Its almost impossible to see when the buildings are close to each other. Thanks!:stella_hearts:

I'll take a look and see what I can do. If that mod uses the same (e.g. vanilla) line-drawing methods, I don't think it would be too difficult. Thanks for the suggestion!

You don't need to translate yourself. I will make my own mod/translation. But I can also throw localization files to you, although I do not know which file sharing sites steam does not delete.

I have an error upon launching the game:

Good news! As far as I can tell, everything still works just fine. I only had to change the About.xml file to indicate that it's compatible with 1.4. Let me know if you run into any issues, though!

Okay! I'll see what I can do! I'm not going give a timeframe for when it'll be live because I don't want to make promises I can't keep, but unless things have REALLY changed behind the scenes, I don't think it should take too long. I'll post a comment or update if anything unexpected comes up that will make it take longer.

Also, thanks for the support, everyone. I honestly just made this for myself and threw it up on the Workshop because I figured I might as well. I never expected to get so many downloads!

now we only need a mod that turns the color of medical beds and prison beds.
or removes color change all together allowing you to keep the original color.
i use dubs paint shop, and the beds changing to blue or yellow ruin the look of my base...

@Shipidge: Yes. Honestly, I expect it will work just fine without any changes, but I will definitely update the compatibility list in the metadata. I will also want to see if there are any lines added by the new DLC that could benefit from being given the same treatment. First priority will be making sure that nothing is broken, however.
