This is from the official changelog :
Several game systems now have a variable tick rate (VTR), which means they run less often depending on their state, and the player's view state. With this Things in the game can now easily contain delta based logic, running as slow as 4Hz (compared to the standard 60Hz update rate).
Significantly reduced game launch times.
Rewrote the glow grid to be burst multithreaded.
Optimized caching statistics.

thats cause theres a few functions that this mod still has not in vanilla
and many mods in their rush to update to 1.6
are not in a great state yet

Time Dilation (throttling pawns tickrate) which was Rocketman's main improvement is now vanilla.
So yeah im pretty sure there's no need for an update

Fishes modder is active and never stopped
Fish requires prepatcher which didnt have a even half stable update till around 2 weeks ago
And thats a local fork only

The official unofficial comment from the guy that updated Rocket Man for 1.6 :

"I am not the original mod dev, this is a hackjob of ghetto crack code i put together over two days, I have no clue if it actually helps and there's a VERY good chance it might brick your save - PLS SAVE OFTEN. Anyways I need people to test it so here it is I guess, I'll fix things as they come along."

For those that are curious I've tested with performance optimizer, analyzer and smart speed and didn't notice a measurable tickrate increase.
That guy seems pretty determined to bring back fishery from the dead however, so we should all bring him some love on his git repo

There is an alpha version for 1.6, it's not from the same creators, but I don't think it really works, it's more like a placebo effect.

For clarification, i'm using it out-of-date. It throws up an error when I try to activate/deactivate it, but I can still do so. And the debug logger dosn't show any other issues cropping up from it while it runs.

Rimworld lets you run out-of-date mods. Though I suppose I have no idea if rocketman now produces errors, it feels like most of the people here are refusing to even test the waters.
