Good luck with it, keep me informed about it.
Certain things will collide, but if you copy one and edit it a bit you could use it.
It's in history/units, something called "oob". It seems complicated but simple in reality, though it's boring and monotonous to do.
You can't prevent the collapse, the mod would lose its purpose.
I have seen that video already, those things shown in the video were used for the mod. Anyway, if you have some progress with your first mod message me, I'm curious.
I think you're mod is pretty decent and they'll only get better
This mod was made in around 20 hours and I'm a beginner modder myself. If you wish to start creating mods check out the Iron Workshop on Youtube (pretty much everyone recommends him because he's truly the best), start with smaller mods (I would say even this mod is too big for a first mod) and slowly start doing more complex things, always experiment with new things. Good luck with it!
I have some plans for the mod already and thus it won't be in the next update but I'll think about it, thanks for the idea.
Thanks for the ideas, I'll get the first two into the mod but the third one is unlikely, I'll probably add more content to the current ones in the future but no more contenders. The update will come on Monday/Tuesday based on how much time I'll have.
Firstly, it'd be cool if you had the Mukden Incident where Japan invaded Manchuria. Maybe do this through Japan sending an ultimatum like how the Marco Polo Bridge Incident is in vanilla.
Secondly, I thought of maybe having a focus where you exchange Hong Kong and/or Guangzhouwan with Britain and/or France for either a guarantee or lend leases to help reconquer China.
Oh and also itd be super cool to see more warlords like the ones that are on the Beautiful States Mod, just to help fill up the map.
Hope some of these help but yea, defo keeping my eye on this mod :))
Thanks for the feedback! If you have some suggestions I would gladly read them. I had to postpone the next update but it should come out next week, check it out once it's updated.
I have quite some plans, just this mod was made for a modding competition and it's still not over so I can't update it past the deadline (April 26th). Once it's done, I'll tag you so you can check it out. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely deal with the research issue (probably 3 starting research slots for each Chinese country, +1 in economy tree, +1 when you unify China). I also thought of adding a plus research tree with one-time research buffs, we'll see.
Thanks for the quick reply. You're totally right, I forgot about that, I should've chosen one of the other countries if I wanted to become Communist or Fascist.
I know this mod is still new and it's a work-in-progress but I just wanted to say that I believe there should be one or two extra research slots in the focus trees as once the unification war is done and you've annexed japan, you will have a huge industry but only three research slots, which makes the industry feel kind of useless as you can only produce rifles and artillery for many years until you have researched more conventional weaponry.
I would suggest to either give the country research slots or to nerf its industry with some kind of spirit and then give said country research slots and remove its limits on industry once unified.
I really enjoyed the mod so far, so great job on that.
I realized that I forgot to publish the version where you can get rid fully of The Qing Collapse debuff, also I forgot to implement switching back to the Qing Empire as Beijing. I'll fix these issues when I upload the version with Tibetan content, I'll do it in 1-2 days. Also about the fascist and communist advisors: if you wish to play as a fascist you can choose Xibei San Ma, for communists you have East Turkestan and Communist China. Might add these advisors later but I don't plan to do it yet. Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah I thought so, it was more for the other people who wanted to write it curiously why they aren't bigger. Thanks for reminding me to write that down!
There were gameplay reasons why China doesn't have Sakhalin, Macau, Hong Kong and other smaller bits, mainly I didn't want to nerf Japan too much, also certain territories have important meaning outside of the Chinese theatre (like Hong Kong as a British naval base).
But yes, China could've been bigger, but I think this one is probably enough.
♥♥♥♥ yeah
