Something changed recently, because when I use this mod now, the mod stops the start of the game. I really enjoyed it when it was working.

Having played this mod, i'd say it's essential, and a massive conceptual and gameplay upgrade. Also makes the society more impactful, fun, and flavorful. Your "Vampire Promotions" mod is another essential gameplay upgrade. Actually all your seceret societies mods have been great and really spruce up this area of the game.

by default its not setup to affect saved games. you could manually change that in the mod files and it probably wouldnt break the save but might not function 100% correctly

Hmm. You could add them to the normal listing, then put the AI weighting to 0 for them, along with any special beliefs and such you wanted to add with it. Another option could be to turn the leader into a "great person" with a global effect when activated. An example is to give them a automatic promotion at creation to pick the "god" they represent (similar to Apostle upgrades), then have the effect become a global effect when they are activated. They could also be set to add an extra belief to an established religion if you wanted. There are options here, maybe look for help of the forum boards? I do wish you luck though! Would be cool to see this through!

I love these mods, they make two of the weaker Societies a lot more interesting! Thanks for that! A question: The Void Leader is a cool idea. Can you modify him to change the religions you get? Like instead of the standard Catholics, Judeism, Sunni, etc, it give new "Gods" (and new beliefs, of course), like Nyarlutthotep, Shub Nigguroth, Cthulhu, and Yog Sothoth? Would be pretty cool!

Sorry, I had forgotten to give this a go. Upon rereading the description I think what you have done here is genius and spot-on and buffs this and its secret society into a heavy weight, up there with the champs. As soon as I get to play this I'll let you know my thoughts afterwards. Thanks for the killer mod --- I stand converted.

I wonder how the AI copes with cultists changed into military units. Their problem with the vanilla implementation is that they are overall too passive and unfocussed with using them, which allows to take them out easily. Do they treat them differently when they are military units?

Still waiting for some mod to change "secret societies" into realistic ones. No vampires and magicians, but deep-state agents or lobby groups.

So, look, actually, I don't have enough free time to dive into a game, play, get my hopes up, and then have it crash. I get to Civ Out like every few months or less, so just give me a heads up if this really works or like the Vampire mod you made it is kaput, finito, dead, and wishing to be resurrected, like your Vampire mod. This is such a good mod and fun idea to try but, ya know, as an adult, time is too limited for days to get flushed.

This is fascinating and rather exciting and seemingly OP. While I agree that Cultists kind of blow, making Promotions 3 & 4 not great comparatively, making them on a par (and buyable!) with a Vampire seems gonzo. Really makes the Sanguine Pact second rate. Though I guess if you have both mods enabled then these two underrated societies (the Owls really are king and the Hermetic Order needs tweaking or careful managment) kinda badass.

I like where your head is at with these mods. I'm surprised no one has tried and/or commented on what you've done here. This is a fascinating mod I'm gonna give a go and hope it doesn't crash on me at some point. Thanks for your work, rock star.
