I rather love the idea of having the "long distance" done by large ships! It makes them more viable
that every ship big small whatever can only use it max flight speed
this travel mode is extremle annoying and used by everything in the entire X4
even escort freighter is no fun cuz they are escaping u like crazy in that silly travel mode
if anyone know or can make a mod that entitely disable travel mode i had been much happy :)
I do find that the AI uses carriers, but the AI never seems to have a lot of their fighters on the carrier, or often sends most of their fighters to fly directly to the target. This might be outside of the scope of your mod, but it would be great if you could program the AI to make heavier use of carriers, and extra nice if the AI could use them more intelligently, like WW2 carriers, with a split between interceptors and torpedo/missile bomber attack craft. Of course, I'm using this with the VRO mod because I really like the changes in it, so I don't know how well that could work.
7k - 10k travel drive is a little to fast in my opinion
this makes sence to mach boost speed, which is plenty fast with vro installed ~3-5k
love the added immersion that a carrier would actually benefit, by CARRIERING fighters long distance
The Earthlings have the slowest engines.
1.5 km / s at the start of the game is also extremely small.
I suggest to make at least 2 km / s
Finding a reason for carriers to exist was half of what drove me to create the mod :-)
I actually play with the expanded sectors mod which doubles down on it even more in addition to removing the highways. It makes space feel BIG, though I expect things might be a bit too slow for the average player in that config.
