I'm looking for a mod that said I left the ships Xl L M with agility in the mino 20% up in the scroll numbers etc.

I would like to have an update for this mod (I will try it in my new playthrough nvtl haha ^^)

I rather love the idea of having the "long distance" done by large ships! It makes them more viable

this is closest mod i can find im trying to find a total remove of travel speed mode

that every ship big small whatever can only use it max flight speed

this travel mode is extremle annoying and used by everything in the entire X4

even escort freighter is no fun cuz they are escaping u like crazy in that silly travel mode

if anyone know or can make a mod that entitely disable travel mode i had been much happy :)

I really love this mod, and I've been playing for a while with it now. I would just make a few suggestions to improve it. First, I think that medium ships travel engines should be faster than small, the mod basically makes medium sized freighters useless, and medium sized ships that carry fighters are also useless.

I do find that the AI uses carriers, but the AI never seems to have a lot of their fighters on the carrier, or often sends most of their fighters to fly directly to the target. This might be outside of the scope of your mod, but it would be great if you could program the AI to make heavier use of carriers, and extra nice if the AI could use them more intelligently, like WW2 carriers, with a split between interceptors and torpedo/missile bomber attack craft. Of course, I'm using this with the VRO mod because I really like the changes in it, so I don't know how well that could work.

Good idea to make carriers more useful and make smaller vessels slower but vro travelspeed is too fast as it is, and with this mod the l and xl are even faster, makes the universe way to small.

love this mod,
7k - 10k travel drive is a little to fast in my opinion
this makes sence to mach boost speed, which is plenty fast with vro installed ~3-5k

love the added immersion that a carrier would actually benefit, by CARRIERING fighters long distance

So with the changes making Carrier more effective, does the AI actually utilize them? Or are they just playing at a dissadvantage?

A thought I had: shouldn't M-class ships be faster than S-class in travel? I believe the general idea is the larger the ship the more power is available for travel mode, correct? Right now, M-class ships are utterly the slowest in travel.

The idea is good, but at the beginning of the game it is not possible to fly at a speed of 1.2 km / s.
The Earthlings have the slowest engines.
1.5 km / s at the start of the game is also extremely small.
I suggest to make at least 2 km / s

Sounds very interesting! As always with mods I have to ask, did you check the long-term effects of the changes, also regarding AI? Is everything fine and stable so far for you?

I like that. I never had a good reason to use L-class freighters when M-class were always significantly faster (although I DO wonder if the new speed advantage is a bit balanced by just how long L and XL ships take to go through a jumpgate). I always liked VRO except for the dramatic speed boost.

Yep. L/XL are generally significantly faster than S/M ships. Doubly so if the S/M ships are fitted with combat engines. Only interceptors with high tier travel engines can keep up with capital ships in a straight line. When passing through asteroid belts IS (or need to turn for any reason really) speeds tend to normalize a bit since the capital ships occassionally have to drop out of travel mode--I find that perfectly thematic though.

Finding a reason for carriers to exist was half of what drove me to create the mod :-)

I actually play with the expanded sectors mod which doubles down on it even more in addition to removing the highways. It makes space feel BIG, though I expect things might be a bit too slow for the average player in that config.

Interesting! Does this mean that L/XL are now substantially faster than S/M in travel mode? This potentially makes the game play very different (and for those of us who have nixed the superhighway it makes carrier craft MUCH more useful).
