As to the button, that would depend if you've been using this mod's button or the vanilla game button.

I've just tested it myself to re-confirm just now, and it all works as it should. Perhaps you should re-check?
It's an elevated road, so I want to have zones "in the air." Is that even possible?
If you still have issues, the next step is to make sure that you haven't got any old and outdated mods that are causing issues.
Using Precision Engineering and activating angle snapping by pressing Ctrl where there were no valid snapping objects nearby, I was able to lay out a road perfectly parallel to the city borders.
All that remained was to extend this road to the edge of the area and create a right-angle turn.
I would like to frame the city with large roads straight along the borders of the city and fill them in nicely.
However, the game system does not treat the city borders as a snapping object, so I cannot draw the frame correctly.
And slightly misaligned streets show me that problem the moment I try to zone large areas in bulk.
Distorted spaces, collapsed grid, distorted zoneable area. It sucks.
This means that unless I redraw all the roads, I am left with useless blank spaces in the zones, which frustrates me.
Some buildings are available on maps with zero population, and a small percentage of them can be placed where there is no road connection, and (maybe) rotated at a certain angle with respect to the city border, but I can't lay roads along them later. (Not subject to snapping).
Could you please advise on a suitable mod candidate to solve this problem?
I actually tried the 4x4 zones, and they were very nice to look at.
While it is fun to see large single houses placed without gaps, I found that it simply looks better and is very inefficient for city population and other things.
(because if there are more zones, the zones may be used by random buildings and some may not be utilized)
Is there some option that could be used to make this kind of zoning easier?
(Or could you consider adding a new option, or point me to another mod that you think would be appropriate?)
