Does this work 2025?
Yanchen May 17, 2023 @ 11:50am
Very good for testing out lighting without the need to force night and mess up the public transit. I wish there were a button in the game to toggle instead of going to the menu each time.
Kristian Dec 18, 2022 @ 11:16am
Further developement:

- I would love a button to toggle this in game, like an on/off switch.
- and if you have districts, a master on/off, and one seperately for each district

Lights On mod is fully compatible with Plazas & Promenades DLC.

Please follow the Plazas & Promenades DLC Compatible modlist.

@Krzychu1245 I think the same as the person below. I hope you or other modders can find out a way to modify lights randomization. I have no idea why this stupid game is programmed to randomize lights per building, not per window.
darcula2000 Jul 11, 2022 @ 5:36pm
@Krzychu1245 so can you modify it?
Krzychu1245  [author] Jul 11, 2022 @ 2:57pm
@邸晓宇 I doubt it's possible. Building windows are handled by the building shader and shaders in general are pretty limited when it comes to tweaking how they work.
darcula2000 Jul 11, 2022 @ 2:13pm
@Krzychu1245 please
darcula2000 Jul 11, 2022 @ 10:24am
hi,please.
Is there a way to override the game random 'lights on' per building?

i really want to screenshot the night city, but i want to screen all the building when they light up.

but in the game, the light of the windows of the building is light up random.

can you make it stop working for screenshot?
Canadian Moose May 30, 2022 @ 10:05pm
oh awesome. Thanks for taking the time to look into that I really appreciate it! @Krzychu1245
Krzychu1245  [author] May 30, 2022 @ 5:06pm
@ACanadianMoose_ I'm not sure how street lights are enabled. Will take a look, if it's as simple as one switch then I'll release an update.
Canadian Moose May 29, 2022 @ 2:27pm
out of curiosity is there any chance making a option or potential sister mod to this that allows buildings lights on but streetlights off?
BUBAKAR May 9, 2022 @ 7:57am
Oh hell yes, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much!

Would it be possible to implement the ability to select which entities have their lights turned on, by any chance (certain props, buildings, etc)?
NSky Mar 6, 2022 @ 5:07am
And another idea for this mod : force turn on the lights even when there's no electricity:steamhappy:
NSky Mar 6, 2022 @ 5:04am
I agree with @LemonsterOG, because of randomization on 'lights on per building', half of the building's lights will be completly off. It would be great if you could solve this problem with your amazing modding skills!
LemonsterOG Jun 21, 2021 @ 1:56pm
@Krzychu1245 -- Thanks so much.
Krzychu1245  [author] Jun 21, 2021 @ 10:09am
@LemonsterOG
I'm not sure how that process works, it might be randomized in the shader with help of "randomization" texture (similar to simulation of waving trees/tree leafs).
I'll take a look into it if I find some free time.
LemonsterOG Jun 21, 2021 @ 7:23am
@Krzychu1245 -- Is there a way to override the game random 'lights on' per building? I understand why the game randomizes this, but for something like an airport, I want all the building lights to be on, while still allowing the randomization throughout the rest of the city.
growpool Mar 26, 2021 @ 7:45am
This mod is fantastic, I've been waiting for something like this! I do think there needs to be an option to make vehicle lights independent from street/building lights so achieving a "blackout" effect at night would be more realistic. Amazing that someone's finally done this though, great work!
Kylorexxy Feb 14, 2021 @ 3:44pm
How can you find where to turn the lights off?
ghostjkq Feb 12, 2021 @ 12:37am
Describing this mod , I still can't turn all the lights when the night comes, some Ploppable buildings ' lights are still off .

Little update: fixed problem with saving/loading settings
hillfanthomlike10 Jan 28, 2021 @ 8:20am
thank you
Krzychu1245  [author] Jan 25, 2021 @ 3:31pm
@unforgiven3091 I'm not 100% sure if I actually added it to required items. It's very popular dependency (>0.5 Million subs), so it is possible that all subscribers already subscribe it and no one noticed that.
unforgiven3091 Jan 25, 2021 @ 2:36pm
i thought i didnt need it anymore
unforgiven3091 Jan 25, 2021 @ 2:36pm
ohh i know what it is, i uninstall the mod depenency: Harmony
unforgiven3091 Jan 25, 2021 @ 2:35pm
okay, ill just uninstall it and install it because the name isnt even displaying. its name just says 2336182914
Krzychu1245  [author] Jan 24, 2021 @ 4:10pm
I need output_log.txt but there is no code in the mod which can cause that error just by enabling it in content manager.
unforgiven3091 Jan 24, 2021 @ 3:25pm
yes, it only appears when i have it enabled and when i enable it in content manager it says that.
Krzychu1245  [author] Jan 24, 2021 @ 10:24am
@unforgiven3091 are you sure that error was caused by this mod? Do you have dependency subscribed and enabled? If so please share output_log.txt file (you can create thread in Discussion section)
unforgiven3091 Jan 23, 2021 @ 6:59pm
this mod gave me this error when turning it on:

Hello, can you make a mod to solve out-of-sync problem of interior lights?
When a building is light on, the building next to it may be completely dark, which is not realistic.
dylan.wagemans Jan 5, 2021 @ 5:52am
@Stormy Kara I used to have the same problem with some of OWL'S themes. I no longer have this problem now though. Do you have one of his themes enabled?
Stormy Kara Jan 2, 2021 @ 5:14pm
I subbed to this mod and it works as intended, but when I zoom in on buildings I get a weird light flicker effect that I didn't get before using this mod. I'm not sure if it's due to this mod or something else, has anyone else had this issue?
Nickayz Jan 1, 2021 @ 1:37pm
@dylan.wagemans: I think kittenville just wanted to express his joy at having his hopes fulfilled. The mod works perfectly.
dylan.wagemans Jan 1, 2021 @ 2:17am
Well, Kittenville commented that he is hoping that someone would make this mod. So I was wondering if the mod was broken?
Krzychu1245  [author] Dec 31, 2020 @ 1:26pm
@dylan.wagemans what do you mean?
dylan.wagemans Dec 31, 2020 @ 12:17pm
Is it broken?
Columbus Aviation Dec 31, 2020 @ 9:01am
Is this compatible with Real Time?
CityScapes Dec 30, 2020 @ 9:47am
Thanks so much for this awesome mod man! Now I'm able to create perfect scenes in my citadel series! And thanls for the shoutout as well!!
Brot Dec 30, 2020 @ 6:30am
What a nice idea to turn this into a little mod of its own! This has always been one of Realtime's most appealing features to me and it's great to have it at my fingertips without the massive overhead of Realtime now. Thanks!
By the by, I second Blood-PawWerewolf's idea. It would be wonderful if we could create a config file determining which buildings should turn off and which won't when we hit the switch.
Blood-PawWerewolf Dec 28, 2020 @ 3:17pm
can there be an option to have it so i can turn off lights per building/prop? like a checkbox on the building/prop's info box?
notreal Dec 27, 2020 @ 6:37am
Dunno if you take suggestions from comments, but I also don't know if there is another place where I can request this, reaching out to more mod creators at the same time.

Basically it would be cool with a draw bridge mod, maybe you can contact boformer to get his code as he doesn't seem to be working on it anymore and hasn't for quite some time
vila浅水荟澄 Dec 26, 2020 @ 11:32pm
Thanks

Nice
cbudd Dec 26, 2020 @ 3:47pm
Damn, Redstone came first (as always haha). Anyway, thanks a lot, now I don't have to check electricity to see my building's illumination, which speeds up testing significantly....
Redstone Dec 26, 2020 @ 11:58am
This'll be so useful for checking out an asset's illumination map in action and much more. Thank you so much!
