They're two independent mods. They can work together but know they're mostly not meant to be used together.
Gardevoir&MGEbrother8008 Feb 21 @ 7:10pm
Is this compatible with your other "Salted meats mod"?
Tinda Feb 6 @ 5:46am
I second a medieval overhaul version
Louraline Jan 24 @ 4:18am
Really like this mod but making the salted meat takes so long
Vartarhoz Sep 14, 2024 @ 5:46pm
Can there be version for Medieval Overhaul, it has their own salt.
Argón  [author] Aug 6, 2024 @ 5:47pm
Yes. That's the way the old mod worked. I used the code for VE ciders.
Tebreski Aug 6, 2024 @ 5:28pm
Letting them mature as in just throw them on an outdoor shelf and not in a freezer or even indoor room?
Argón  [author] Aug 5, 2024 @ 7:21pm
You have to let them mature. I don't remember the exact amount of days required.
Tebreski Aug 4, 2024 @ 7:29pm
How do you turn raw sausage into proper sausage if you don't mind me asking? I try to leave a bunch of raw sausage in a storage outside for a while but it just remain raw sausage.
Dai Jun 24, 2024 @ 5:24am
Thank you for this mod. Goes great with my current mod list.
Argón  [author] Jun 23, 2024 @ 12:40pm
Yeah I will update it now. Maybe it wasn't too smart of me to assume everyone will just gravitate towards the remake. I was recently doing some organization of my modding folders too so I will make sure to keep some mods updated.
HIM🐀 Jun 23, 2024 @ 12:29pm
So this one DOES work on 1.4, but other one is preferred by design. Got it, thank you! If you can, in the future, please update the tag. Thank you so much for responding, the state of this little mod puzzled me on the background for some time.
Argón  [author] Jun 23, 2024 @ 12:23pm
It's kinda deprecated. The new salted meat mod is mostly the same with a couple improvements. This one should work, I just don't pay much attention to updating the tag for compatibility anymore.
HIM🐀 Jun 23, 2024 @ 8:41am
...so is it 1.4 compatible or not?
1.5 is out, is it AT LEAST 1.4 compatible? or is it deprecated and the other "Salted Meat" mod is superior to this one?
i'm confused, Argón
Game_Wizard1993 Nov 24, 2023 @ 11:12pm
please update
Stellar Harbour Jan 15, 2023 @ 11:49pm
Add then
Argón  [author] Jan 15, 2023 @ 10:13pm
This one is 1.4 compatible tho, it's just not showing because I'm dumb and forgot to add a single line on the about.xml file

Update?
Thranos Oct 30, 2022 @ 5:04pm
Anyone using this in 1.4 who can say if it works or not?
IronSides Aug 10, 2022 @ 10:16pm
The contents of my fish dryer list is empty. they say they are full 75/75. and it seems no fish have ever come out of them after a long time.

The sausage racks are working fine, selecting quality and everything.
Argón  [author] May 29, 2022 @ 9:57pm
2.0 does not depend on Vanilla Cooking Expanded, and is a little better coded as well.
TheRealCaptRex May 29, 2022 @ 1:29pm
whats the difference between this and salted meat 2.0?
Panacea May 11, 2022 @ 6:49pm
Oh ok. Thanks for the reply. :)
Argón  [author] May 11, 2022 @ 4:56pm
I will eventually add the feature
Panacea May 11, 2022 @ 7:37am
Why can human meat not be salted?
Extreme Randy Apr 19, 2022 @ 6:48pm
Thanks my dude tahts helpful
Krazyfan1 Apr 18, 2022 @ 10:25pm
Evaporation Pond
Krazyfan1 Apr 18, 2022 @ 10:23pm
there is a mod for that
Panacea Apr 18, 2022 @ 10:13pm
I like the idea of seawater extraction. All you have to do is boil it down until all the water evaporates away. Neanderthals knew how to do that. Could be a campfire recipe.
Extreme Randy Apr 18, 2022 @ 7:10am
Hi, I have a seaside colony, could there be a way to extract salt from seawater?
Argón  [author] Jan 28, 2022 @ 7:28am
you mean salt buried underground? That's a feature of Vanilla Cooking Expanded
SaltyDwarf Jan 28, 2022 @ 2:35am
Thanks for the mod.
Got a question though - it is really frustrating to keep finding salt pockets with short-ranged scanner, is there a way to disable salt from spawning like that?
Argón  [author] Jan 19, 2022 @ 6:32am
Maybe the salted meat of this mod is not patched to work with the meat rack of the 2.0 version
creep_ Jan 19, 2022 @ 6:30am
For some reason my pawns seem to love their meat extra-salty and try to put already salted meat back on the meat rack. I only get the option "Insert meat" when trying to start the process, no choice of what to use. Is this some kind of conflict with other foodrelated mods or do you just need to put the preserved goods as far away as possible?
Argón  [author] Dec 1, 2021 @ 2:10pm
I can add it to the starting technologies of the tribal start
Blorpmeister Dec 1, 2021 @ 2:04pm
Is there a way to make it so the basic salted meat is a neolithic research? Salting meat has been a thing for an extremely long time, literally dating back to 3000BC in Mesopotamia.
Dunestyler Oct 20, 2021 @ 10:40am
thanks.
Argón  [author] Oct 20, 2021 @ 10:13am
Vanill fishing expanded
Dunestyler Oct 20, 2021 @ 6:23am
which fish mod is this compatible with?
Argón  [author] Sep 18, 2021 @ 4:39pm
no, not actually, but the code is restriccted to take either a category or an item, and meats are weird since they're not actually defined defs and I can't seem to find "Meat_Human" in the game's giles. If I wanted to use the same processor building to transform any meat into salted meat and to transform human meat into salted human meat, It would be impossible. But I think I can go with just a different building with no issues, just that I won't have time to add it now as I plan to release the mod tomorrow.
Kayedon Sep 18, 2021 @ 4:36pm
Is this your first time playing with an ItemProcessor? If so, happy to help troubleshoot!
Argón  [author] Sep 18, 2021 @ 4:28pm
probably I'll add it later, I'm struggling a bit with the item processor, but it was already on the plans.
Kayedon Sep 18, 2021 @ 3:16pm
So long as salted human meat makes an introduction, I'm down! :steamsalty:
Mistletoe The Bard Sep 10, 2021 @ 1:33am
@Argon Wow, Thank you very much! Guess I am really lucky~ hehe
Argón  [author] Sep 9, 2021 @ 6:47am
You will be glad to hear that I will be conmemorating the one year anniversary of this mod with the release of what you just asked, I mean, it will only require the Vanilla Expanded Framework, which doesn't add any content.
Mistletoe The Bard Sep 8, 2021 @ 9:18pm
May I ask for a independent version? :P I don't really want all those stuff from the vanilla cooking expansion. :p
LazY_Pickachu Sep 6, 2021 @ 6:43am
Thank you, Argon.
