Is the mod enabled? Did you accidentally click the eye icon next to the map to hide it? Move it offscreen? Try checking the mod settings and resetting the position there.

Seems to work fine for me, are you sure it's unlocked?

Maybe some other mod places some invisible UI elements over it and blocks mouse events?

I feel like i'm missing something or it broke on the most recent update but you can no longer move and edit the map in the live game view when unlocked.

Love this mod.
Can you PLEASE update this mod so that when playing on controller it doesn't auto-focus the UI buttons and cause distracting tool tips all the time? This also means you accidentially hide the map or change settings by mistake when using controller. Can you just disable clicking on minimap icons when using controller?

Test with controller to see what I mean. It's especially infuriating when polymorhed as the tooltips become big and you can't unfocus them. Disabling the map while polymorphed would fix this too.

Hey this doesnt work for me? Idk if its just me doing something wrong but the mod options are showing up and I have mods enabled. The only mod i have installed is a small texture mod I made to help with colourblindness. Any help?

I LOVE this mod. It's simple enough that I don't feel cheaty. It's been item number 1 on my mods list for over a year.

Feature Request: Pinning markers to the map.

Being able to color a square that I want to return to would be a great help, and fit with the simplistic design of the mod.

Thanks for the report but I couldn't replicate it while flying around there for a couple of minutes. If it happens again and is reproducible in a savefile, it would help a lot if you could zip it up and send me the save so I can take a look at it when it happens.

Heya! The mod is awesome, especially when i'm exploring a layer and need the fog of war to make sure i don't retrace my own steps too many times lol. I've noticed a few bugs with the UI, though I'm not sure if they're actually the mod or if they stem from Noita engine bugs. Most notably, during a recent run the map would periodically disappear when in certain sections of Hell . I wasn't able to reproduce this on another save (with some debug mods active lol), but it was consistent on that particular save. I wish I could give more info on it, but I can't dig into the causes any more. Figured that at least if you knew it might help!

I just tested it both with both mod load orders, works fine with both, so I doubt it's an issue between the two mods. If you want to find out what's causing it you could install the logger mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2124936579 , then check C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Noita\logger.txt or alternatively start C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Noita\Noita_dev.exe and look in the console window for errors. Just ignore the "Raytrace hit an infinite loop" errors, that's from gokis map.

I love this mod. It feels like a natural part of the experience and really helps prevent me from getting lost and missing things while exploring.

Strangely enough, this mod is actually pretty much useless. I mean, I ALREADY know where I am. I have no use for knowing my general location in the world as a whole, because that's something I can just look up on a JPG of the game world. What I need is a map of my *immediate surroundings*, because this game can be pretty labyrinthine. All in all a well-made mod that is not actually useful for anything. Oh well.

Added a setting for the map opacity, although with the way the map is drawn it makes it impossible to use one of my optimizations along with it, resulting in slightly worse performance.

You can resize it if that's what you mean, just unlock it by clicking the buttons and then click & drag the corners.

Hmm not really possible with the way the drawing works, unless I do a big rewrite which I don't want to do :P

That's probably kinda hard too with how small the map is and especially enemies are going to be very crowded.

Awesome! Just installed this, and it's great.

I have a few wishlist ideas for expanded Mod Options:

Option to increase map resolution . I'd like to use the map within a Biome to see where I haven't explored.

Adjustable Alpha.

If map resolution allows, integrate data from Enemy, Wand, and Item Radar Perks.
If player has All-Seeing Eye perk, entire map may be visible, but unexplored regions would be grayscale.

i know some rough locations (Teleport room to the far east of the dragoncave) but some are less than... ideal. (Essence of Air)

I just wanted to review, it does as intended and I have no additional lag issues with this mod. The fog of war option makes it better than the other mini map mods available

Added an option to use a custom map file, enable the option in the mod settings menu and place an image called custom_map.png in the root folder of the mod (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\881100\2227903743)

I would really appreciate the ability to update biome colors if you could make that update. I know this is a ridiculous request, and I appreciate the mod you created as it is. Great work!

That's a real bummer because in an older version, you had a .png file that I could simply edit to make the biome colors make more sense. I suppose it's better to pull directly from the game so as to keep up with biome updates as the game itself gets updated.

You can't because the mod pulls the colors straight from the map, which is stored as an image and the colors are predefined by the game.

Done, minimap is now hidden while inventory is open. I didn't add an option for it though, that shouldn't be necessary.

Just s small tidbit, can you add an option to hide the minimap when the inventory is open? I can't recall if I have the minimap in the default position, but it overlaps the inventory bar, and that is a bit bothersome.

It did work fine until ironically modders started using a library that I wrote myself that was supposed to make biome map modding easier, but I made a mistake and forgot it wouldn't work with my minimap... :steamfacepalm: I didn't get around to fixing it yet because it's an annoying problem to solve.

I tried this mod for the first time, but I'm unable to get the map to display at all. I've tried to change the X / Y positions, but no luck. Am I doing something incorrectly? Did the recent update yesterday break the mod, or is it incompatible with other mods?

You can toggle the fog of war with the third button from the top next to the minimap. The point of the fog of war is to show you where you haven't been yet, revealing the areas when casting all seeing eye or taking the perk wouldn't make much sense.

hi, i just wanted to say, i really like the changes you made in the latest update, and i was wondering, if it isn't too hard to code, could you maybe add some form of waypoint thing? Like when you unlock the map, there's an option to leave a secondary flashing pixel on the spot you're currently on, flashing blue or something? Not a necessity, just something i thought would be neat the other day (may or may not have been trying to re-find one of those mid-area shops and got lost lol). But overall, the last update you did was really nice, personally i've got no complaints :)

Thank you. I don't know why it would not be able to access that file, I guess Steam Workshop is weird and won't allow access to files at the root of the directory? Another update is out which should fix this.

Interestingly, the steam workshop version of this mod seems to properly function only when there is a copy of the “settings_defaults.lua” file under the dirtectory “Noita\mods\LocationTracker”.
My humble guess is that the second line in the “settings.lua” file is somehow the source of the problem since it attempts to access “settings_defaults.lua”.
This is clearly against the comments below stating that the “settings.lua” file should not access any other external files.
Hardcoding the default values into the “settings.lua” file instead of the dofile_once operation does fix the crash but I’m not sure if that’s a proper solution to this problem.

Please try unsubscribing from this mod and resubscribing to force a re-download. The previous crashes should have been because of biome mod incompatibility, which was fixed in this update. So if that's not it I can't think of anything that could cause a crash. If it still does, try disabling all other mods and see if that works so I can track down the source of the crash.
