Would you mind providing a complete mod list of everything running while trying to use this mod? I suspect it has something to do with another mod you're running possibly.

As long as its coded similar to the current arsenal, it should be pretty easy but I've never used ACE before.

Could you double check that its actually affecting the grenade change? I think once it's in Arsenal it should ignore that but I may be wrong
I've still been trying to find a solid fix to that issue.
@rogue NEW blood, it is a client side mod, yes.
Some unit mod designers didn't set up their mods 100% correctly so some may not show a preview of the unit before you select it but thats on that mod designers end.
