So I've tried using "Character editor" to make non-stuffable things stuffable and found its a bit unreliable, after a more careful rereading Im guessing this isnt the similarly user friendly but more reliable option I was looking for.

@TurtleShroom:

I have no idea what RIMMSQOL even is, so it's safe to say that the answer to your question is "no".

Does this Mod allow the using of RIMMSQOL to make non-Stuffed items into Stuffed items? As it stands, changing a fixed recipe item to a Stuffed item causes error logs and does not accept any raw resource beyond the original recipe.

This is a great idea, hopefully something like this gets incorporated into vanilla. Sadly one of the reasons I stopped modding in earnest with RimWorld is the lack of these kinds of "comfort" features.

That said, it's not immediately apparent, is this only a framework, or does it have some utility to the end-user in and of itself? It says it doesn't patch anything, so in order to see any benefits from this mod you will need both this mod and another mod which has been patched to be compatible, or else a patch for that mod?

It seems to me that patches to define materials as WoodStuff or MetallicStuff or StoneStuff would be pretty easy for any mod that adds materials, and likewise patches for mods to make buildings stuffable that currently aren't or to restrict already stuffable buildings to specific stuff categories should just be a simple matter of XML patching, right?

This is a very interesting concept, and something I hope to see more of in the future. It's definitely frustrating when some mods require EXACTLY ordinary wood or EXACTLY regular steel to create a specific construction while surrounded by other things that can be made out of anything.

The ability to restrict like "This can be made out of stone" or "this can be made out of metal" instead of just "this can be made out of anything things can be made out of" is also interesting.
