Glad you liked it :D.

And yeah there is a small grid version

There is also survival printable large grid version that has many mobility upgardes over this one

Great design, is there a small grid version for this?
halipatsui  [author] Jul 6, 2022 @ 12:54pm
Hox! this build can now be built in survival. New link in the description.
halipatsui  [author] Jun 30, 2021 @ 2:13pm
I think so yes. Humanoid legs just are much more annoying to animate
DragoF1sh Jun 30, 2021 @ 10:54am
I wonder, can this same method be used to make a mech with forward facing legs
(humanoid) instead of backward facing legs?
DragoF1sh Jun 19, 2021 @ 6:46pm
Your chassis is awesome. I used it as a base and rebuilt it at a larger scale to make an epic mech:

your awesome. keep up the good work!

halipatsui  [author] Jul 19, 2020 @ 9:20pm
I am so sorry. I just got to my pc yesterday and i forgot. I will right this wrong in just a moment!
zonyx Jul 19, 2020 @ 7:50pm
i have not been granted our lord stafing pepe yet i am the sad
halipatsui  [author] Jul 18, 2020 @ 5:41am
For high inclines there are few tricks:
Just you are hitting an incline you should pitch up, imagine matching running angle with the incline.

Also you can try jumping over inclines.
Alao you can try to hop up them.

But yeah extended time of 45 degree incline is not a good idea, but generally it can be pullled off if ypu have enough speed versus small enough incline.
Dathiris Jul 18, 2020 @ 2:24am
Oh, I should probably add: do NOT attempt to go up a large incline greater than 45°, you would risk breaking literally everything doing so. (at least in a 1g environment)

Everything else is 100% fine, surprisingly rugged.
I hit a small, pointy hill just wrong during the walk cycle just wrong and it punched a whole in the outside of the left shin, disconnecting one of the knee hinges, and it was still functional enough to be able to freaking jump!
halipatsui  [author] Jul 17, 2020 @ 9:06pm
Thanks for your compliments :)

And go for it :D
But i recomend to start off with a bit simpler build first.

Yeah i have played with pistons quite a bit too, not really with this chassis tho.

Pistons imo are best for shins, where they can be used to create more ground clearance during walk cycle.
They are also good for powering joints that dont need to be fast and require HIGH torque. (If used optimally)
I tend to make my mechs with speed being high priority and joints powered by pistons become much stiffer and bouncier than rotor/hinge joints. Also having more than neccessary subgrids is always kinda bad.

Tl:dr pistons good for power, bad for speed
Dathiris Jul 17, 2020 @ 2:59pm
This is by far the most functional mech chassis I've ever seen in this game.
Bravo.

This makes me want to see about designing a quadruped version of this for more stability, the forward jumping is just too good.
I’m curious though, did you play with pistons at all when prototyping this or did those break things?
halipatsui  [author] Jul 16, 2020 @ 2:59pm
Thank you! :)
But i have better one cooking already ;)
Dune Jul 16, 2020 @ 2:55pm
This awesome Dude!
halipatsui  [author] Jul 16, 2020 @ 11:20am
I dont have plans for that but if someone wants me to try something on their mech i can try if i habe the time.

Seeibg what bruce did with guardian using only timers, which makes this multiple timed harder i am pretty sure he can produce strafing mech. Afaik he abandoned guardian because hinges were introduced so i would not be surprised if bruce made his next mech a strafer himself.
Sailor Pothead Jul 16, 2020 @ 9:21am
do you plan on ever modifying other peoples mech builds to run on this WASD system, Such as the Guardian mech that is currently on the featured scroll with yours.
halipatsui  [author] Jul 16, 2020 @ 5:01am
Hmm. What RWI amd DRF are?
Havent come across with those before.
EPICDUDE365 Jul 15, 2020 @ 11:50pm
I wonder if Captain Jack or Last Stand Gamer will use this as a template for a combat mech for the RWI or DRF
zonyx Jul 15, 2020 @ 5:17pm
YES. GIVE IN.
halipatsui  [author] Jul 15, 2020 @ 5:03pm
Zpnyx your prayers will be called uöon once i get to my pc. Our lord and savior Pepe will then descend among is and walk with us. Leading us to triumph of evil over good.
zonyx Jul 15, 2020 @ 4:58pm
agreeing with xurik we need the pepe build
halipatsui  [author] Jul 15, 2020 @ 4:37pm
!
Mr. Puffin Jul 15, 2020 @ 3:32pm
This is awesome now i want to mod in the metal gear sceeching sound into a sound block and put it on this thing
halipatsui  [author] Jul 14, 2020 @ 9:30pm
Morpheus in long run you will be better off without maglocks.

Xurik yeah i can post it. I didnt really think of doing it initially because it was just 1 hour troll build xD
Xurik Jul 14, 2020 @ 9:02pm
Are you posting the Pepe mech?
Molten Carnage Jul 14, 2020 @ 8:20pm
Watched your 2nd video. Suggest you get mechs prespawned and a guy dedicated to recording or use the replay tool in game. But yeah it was fun to watch. I wanted to tackle making an articulated mech using Maglock pads mod on the bottom of the feet to assist in more predictable ground movement.
halipatsui  [author] Jul 14, 2020 @ 8:09pm
Glad you liked it :) do you mean battles from my videos or have you guys had your own battle somewhere?
Molten Carnage Jul 14, 2020 @ 7:16pm
Suggested your BP to Arron of Last Stand Gamers. It was fun just to watch these mechs battle it out.
RD1Ghost Jul 13, 2020 @ 7:28pm
This is actually pretty cool, I'm very new to making mechs and walkers, so this gives me some ideas
halipatsui  [author] Jul 13, 2020 @ 11:34am
Yes. To ducks.
Rdav Jul 13, 2020 @ 10:16am
the chickens are evolving
halipatsui  [author] Jul 11, 2020 @ 7:12pm
I have plans for using this mech for pvp stuff
banksman45 Jul 11, 2020 @ 3:53pm
Wow.. this mech would be perfect for PVP.
halipatsui  [author] Jul 10, 2020 @ 6:30pm
Pepe mech, when you have to hit with physical and mental warfare at same time.
I sawed your boat in half! Jul 10, 2020 @ 4:46pm
the future of warfare is here
halipatsui  [author] Jul 10, 2020 @ 3:43pm
Nope. This thing is:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1787318037

It can reach 100 m/s but it is not nearly as agile :D, also a lot bigger.

I also have smaller mech that can run faster than this one can.
I sawed your boat in half! Jul 10, 2020 @ 2:29pm
wow, this is probably the fastest legged thing on the workshop
