good build. has a faulty autohold if you mistakenly use up or down arrows, so that once you turn the autohold off you with shoot off and probably explode, especially in my case. small tweak required?

I might some time in the future if I feel like it, but I haven't really touched helicopters since, well, I made this one and I'm busy with other projects at the moment. I do believe there are some other high quality S-64's out there.

can you remake this please?

This creation was old a long time ago, so I will not guarantee it working as intended. I'm honestly quite impressed if it works at all ^^

this thing has a seizure if you turn auto pilot on. it seems like some stuff is glitching into other parts and then it does uncontrollable flips and rolls. it all starts with an initial sudden pitch change when the auto pilot turns on.

Successfully lifted an overturned Campbell with it and delivered it. Still works great as a heavy lifter. Just gotta remember slow and steady when flying with an unsecured load, such as a boat. Can't wait to try it out for containers and forest fires!

Seems to work now. Thanks, great model BTW!

Oh boy, this is an old vehicle :D haven't used it myself in like a year. There should be a button in the cockpit to refill the water tank. Drop the refilling hose in the water and press the button and it should refill. There's a small possibility that it doesn't work anymore, though I can't see any specific reason as to why it would stop working.

I cant seem to refill the water tank once I use it. Any tricks? Awesome heli otherwise!

Hasn't got any tools, but works just fine for V1.0. It does use the AISO standard, so you might struggle with the new containers. I'll probably change that some day come to think of it.

v1.0?
Kahrstrom  [author] Sep 22, 2020 @ 6:58am
@JeET_FUEL_KID Yes, it's an intended feature in the Gyroscope Microcontroller by TT. Means you'll have to commit to the take-off, you won't just start hovering away when you landed.
JET_FUELD_KID Sep 21, 2020 @ 8:27pm
Is there a reason you have to hold up for a while in order to take off?
Kahrstrom  [author] Jul 13, 2020 @ 4:36pm
Yeah, that's what I've done for a couple of other creations of mine :) Just displaying data is really easy even for a programing-illiterate like me.

Check out MrNJersey's tutorials. He's got some vids on YouTube as well.

Good point on the vertical speed, I've not been much around helicopters irl, although I aim to do that in the future.

Regarding the indicator lights, I just found it looked better doing it that way, but it's true, it could be a good way to save some space - space is, after all, something I am lacking a bit on this instrument panel. I've been thinking of writing some simple LUA script to showcase some of the information like fuel, battery, rotor RPS etc. on a display instead of on instrument panels. My LUA skills are very much limited, but I should be able to pull that off with some basic tutorials, I've done that before ^^

I can understand the tediousness of tuning PIDs... You really ought to rotate the Vertical Speed gauge on it's side to match real world V/S gauges (needle pointing left, usually). It bugs me...

I noted that on the panel where you have buttons to activate the AP and Altitude hold that they light up indicator lights. If you set those buttons to Toggle, they will lights up when active, potentially freeing the other two spots on that block for other buttons/switches/etc. Of course, I do realize that you may have done this on purpose...just seems like some wasted space to me...

thx men now i can fly the hely
Kahrstrom  [author] Jul 13, 2020 @ 3:17am
You can climb up the ladders on the side and if you are fast, you can get in the seat from that position.

The panel layout is semi-realistic, showcasing an artificial horizon, KIAS, Altitude, Vertical speed, compass as well as the transponder display. What it does not have is a true-to the original layout. I may try to redo the layout in a future version to match the original better. That would also require the observer seat to have control over the helicopter, so we'll see :)

With the altitude hold I gotta be honest with you, I was so tired of tuning PID's that I just made it keep the current altitude instead of trying to reach a target altitude. That too is something I aim to improve in the future ^^
Etyneo Jul 12, 2020 @ 11:08pm
I also noted that the side doors are not viable entry points as only the windows open and there's not enough space for the character to enter via the ladder.

Were you trying to go for the real panel layout (as close as you could)? With some rearranging you could add a small keypad to set a target altitude for the alt hold.
Kahrstrom  [author] Jul 12, 2020 @ 1:18pm
@Etyneo Make sure to press both at the same time (not just one by one) and it should work fine. I'll double check anyways, I can always increase the ignition time a bit if needed. Thanks for your feedback anyways!

I did notice that I needed to hold the engine start buttons down until the engines caught, otherwise they'd fail to start.
Kahrstrom  [author] Jul 10, 2020 @ 7:50am
@stefan2020_invader hard to tell from so little information, it works just fine for me.

If the engines start but you can't lift up into the air, make sure you have enough throttle (15) and try to hold down the UP key for a couple of seconds when you want to take off.

If the engines don't start, make sure you have fuel - perhaps you are playing with limited fuel activated in your game settings? You can see the fuel meter outside on the left side of the cockpit as well as inside the cockpit on the top left of the instrument panel.

why i cant take off ?
Kahrstrom  [author] Jul 10, 2020 @ 5:35am
Glad to hear you like it! You can connect the logic node from your seat to the "On/Off Sent" on the Large Connector on the "belly" of the helicopter in order to use the seat button to drop the water.
Jake Jul 9, 2020 @ 4:33pm
is there a way to program the water drop button to the seat? Also, I really like this heli:steamhappy:
