Launcher says it conflicts with LWOTC
Should I push through it or ignore the conflict ?
I ve been playing grim horizons with lwotc extensively

Yes, It means that they are not permanent and can repeat.

It doesn't ban dark events, just makes it so they aren't permanent with grim horizon enabled.

So i tried typing in the various other dark events to ban and yet im seeing them appear. Not sure what I did wrong there

I assume this may not be suited to an in progress campaign? Giving the mode a go for the first time and the risks on covert actions ones are cringe

After downloading this mod my volume seems to be lowered somehow. I'll remove this mod and see if the volume is back to normal without this mod

That mod's Description says "Doesn't work with any mod that overrides XcomGameState_HeadQuartersAlien" so I'd guess not.

@RedDobe The Alternative Mod Launcher indicates that this mod conflicts with the mod, Second Wave Pick Your Chosen. It is an actual conflict?

@MrCloista - I have never tested it myself, but others have said that it works fine. I can't think of anything that would be a problem myself.

Other users have confirmed that it does indeed work with the Grim Horizon option disabled. I do have a check for if the option is disabled prior to making a dark event permanent.

My guess is that it is an issue with the remove dark event mod. The thing is use that mod myself and never noticed the conflict. It may be that the dark event list hasn’t had time to refresh since the game refreshes each month.

@sinapsus if it can be of some help, I use DisableDarkEvent Dark_GuessTheName to manage (here: remove) mod i just officially removed by doing the covert action. it effectively disable their effect and remove them from the list.

I suppose I just understand the "add to the exclusion list thing". It is not a "listed mod are NOT permanent" list but a "I don't manage the permanent or not but theses DE could come back a day if they are removed" list. Am I correct ? I'll probably test it and answer before tomorrow night ;-)

Hi RedDobe, same problem than sinapsus here with the same combination. Strictly no Dark event is removed when doing the covert action of the other mode but Sinapsus debugged it enough so we know it is probably a text issue. The question is could your list be refreshed more often to reflect REAL active Dark Events only ? Thanks.

@sinapsus - my guess is that it’s not going to get removed until you put it on the exception list in this mod’s config. I am not entirely sure how that mod works.

The AML launcher says this conflicts with the mod 'Second Wave, Pick Your Chosen' Is this true or is it a false positive.

Okay, I noticed one thing. I used Remove Dark Events mod to remove Undying Loyalty and it no longer shows up in the Active Dark Events list inside the Avenger, but if I access the list your mod uses to list the active Dark Events it is still on the list. Though it seems to have been removed since I haven't had a zombie ADVENT soldier appear after the covert action completed. Does the list for this mod get refreshed and remove inactive events at some point?

Hello, I had to uninstall another mod that overrode the XComGameState_HeadquartersAlien mod class in order to install this mod and now the UI at the top of the holo-globe screen is missing parts. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

...and nevermind, I initially had some problems, but I tried opening it with Notepad and it loaded. Finding the names of the Dark Events I'd like to not be permanent. Though it didn't load with Notepad++. Going to not save the file if it asks and hope I didn't accidentally break anything. The two I'm picking are:
MidnightRaids
RuralCheckpoints
Since I feel they are brief crackdowns that have to end because ADVENT needs those forces elsewhere. The others (except for GoneToGround) I'm keeping since it makes more sense to have them stick around unless you run a Covert Action to sabotage them or prevent them via Guerilla Op in the first place.

The suffix for an English localisation file is .int , other languages have different ones like .deu for German.
So look in XComGame.int in your WotC Steam install folder.

I was referring to a comment you made about 1.5 years ago saying the template names for Dark Events was "found in XComGame.ini in the localization folder of War of the Chosen" and have had no luck locating that. Is there a usual folder location for the file. I.e., somewhere under "common" in the SteamLibrary folder on whatever drive the game is installed on? MyDocuments?

Apologies if I'm not clear. Trying to be a bit clearer.

@Sinapus - this mod doesn’t make any changes to the naming of dark events. The files you are referring to are the defaults for localization, they aren’t contained in this mod.

I tried finding the localization folder, but the only one I could find seemed to have language translations for the game. I looked in XComGame.ini in the config folder but it doesn't have dark events listed. Where would I find the file that contains the names of various Dark Events, please?

The UI changes are part of the fix, because without the changes you can't see the full list of active dark events.
