I can't figure out why my collector wont do anything. I can occasionally get it to work, but I have to keep assigning it to different ships and wait a bit until it does. I've tried playing with just this mod and all DLCs on, but no luck. For some reason I feel like it's a blacklist issue, but I'm not sure as I haven't used one since this issue started.

If you have the secret stash, the police should never see anything in the first place. Police script was changed almost every patch, so i do not fully recall the logic on whether it just re-scans your ship after timeout or in fact it waits for some items to be ejected as well.

Afternoon Assailer.

I've noticed a little something strange. Not sure if it's related to your mod, but it SEEMS to connect the dots up right.

I've just witnessed two vessels being destroyed by police forces in an OOS. Right before they were destroyed (without warnings of attacks) the inventory collector ships I'd assigned had visited them, and gathered cargo from said ships.

I'm curious: Is it possible for the police to not notice the switch and continue to demand cargo that is no longer present?

But that might not have been it either. The discoverer was only collecting from looter that I had recently purchased. The ones I had bought at the start of the game were all elites with minimal fit. Once I upgraded them to inventory collector visited them as well.

So when I was assigning this behaviour to an elite vanguard it did not do anything but when I assigned it to a discoverer vanguard instead it worked.

All it says is "44484.722: _Loot Collector search_loop" with changing timestamps. At least for me.

There is already debug log: <debug_to_file directory="'fs_inv'" name="'debug'" text="'not allowed'" output="false" append="true"/>

Check the forums on how to enable the client logging. As you see, this mod will create log in the fs_inv folder (once enabled).

@Assailer Any chance to get some toggable debugs/logging or a dm'd script so that I could find out why it doesn't work for me? I noticed that generally there were no issues when I was playing on my pc but it never works when I'm trying to play from my laptop so I'd assume there's some logic culling happening in order to save performance and the inv collectors never do anything

has been the one I saw first, and it seems to only partially work, if at all. Trying to assign a sector to scavenge seems to force close the window, and not actively assign it. I've managed to assign them only a couple times, but only through brute forcing it repeatedly. That doesn't seem to be a smart idea, but FOR NOW, it works.

Hello once again. Starting to find your mods, and not being disappointed.

Is it possible to have this mod, perhaps in addition to collecting ship cargos, also scout sectors for lost cargo as well? IE, if I am flying my battleship over to harass the Xenon, and I take out a building site, there's a couple thousand energy cells I could pawn off, or potentially use just floating.

Being able to order a couple pilots to scout out the galaxy (or even specific sectors only) for resources that have been ejected due to security scans, lost from combat, or 'misappropriated' from various other methods would be nice.

Is it possible to have ships running this automatically resupply (repair)? I notice that they don't seem to do that.

Would be great if the tiny fast fragile ships I use would use my wharfs/eq docks/aux ships stationed all over the galaxy to repair.

In general no, but i have seen other mod makers use my mods as base to make theirs and reusing the same mod ID which causes collisions. :facepalm:

Are there any mods or types of mods that would be likely to conflict with this one? I'm having trouble getting it to work as well.

In the screenshots I have them set to 4 minutes, in this save never any of the ships had their items collected (note that they're fighters - shouldn't they be "small ships"?)

I did as you suggested - waited 30 minutes and nothing happened. Then I also enabled "collect from smallships", waited 20 minutes and still nothing happened. I'll just try using different ship for collecting loot later and see if it works, though larger ships will be slower at it.

Have only 'visit medium and capital, deposit to player' checked.

Set revisit to 5 minutes. I see it's 20 minutes. Once a ship is checked, it gets marked not to check for the next N minutes.

wait 25 minutes with the new settings.

I tried both with blacklist and without, nothing happened. I checked the debug log and there was nothing regarding inventory collector. I guess I'm just cursed

Update regarding the bug, I've installed the game on a different machine and started a new playthrough but inventory collector still doesn't work. Even if I disabled other mods it still wouldn't work. I tried comming the pilot and starting it that way, I tried setting its behaviour, it doesn't move at all.
In my playthrough before 7.0 I had multiple small fighter ships that were collecting trash dropped in certain choke points - back then the inventory collector worked for those ships. I did select "collect from small ships" both previously and now. But now it doesn't work

I had a fresh save, had 3 light ships full of items to be collected, the inventory collector was a high speed ship and it would sit still for 20 minutes. I have VRO disabled so I don't know why the ship icons are different, but I remember some months ago I checked the "code" for both VRO and inventory collector and it'd be the ship types

I suspect the inventory collector refuses to work when there's mods that add new ship types(?), for example VRO.

Are most of your mods compatible with Starwars Interworlds? If they are on nexus, ill download them. But I wanted to check and be sure since I cant find a location where a list of compatible mods works with Starwars Interworlds.

47: is there something to collect? Make sure you have ships with pilot who has some inventory items on them. This mod only collects small inventory items (not crates!). If you cannot get it working upload the save file to google drive (or similar file sharing) and post the link here, i will try to check it out.

Still no luck getting the mod to work. I have tried with global blacklist active and inactive; tried switching the deposit target. The assigned ship simply sits there standing by with "Command: None", despite default behavior set to the inventory collector order. Would love any ideas or ways to troubleshoot. Hello, I would like to ask you to edit this mod. It happens very often that the ship with the coletor task stops and waits for the next cycle or something, and usually in a completely stupid place. in (Sanctuary of darkness, The Void, Avarice sectors, Tharka's Cascade)
Could the ships in collector mode respect the ban settings? For example, if it is set not to enter dangerous - hazard locations, they will not fly through these locations. Alternatively, to leave the current location themselves, if they are in such a dangerous or forbidden sector, when they get into the collector pause - waiting.

I have 2 instances running one for small and one for med/cap, both have the global blacklists active and deposite to the player with a 20min inverval, my log is full of collected items

did you somehow mess up blacklists? did you try switching the deposit target? can the ship reach the target? do you have targets that collect inventory items at all?

Any idea why the inventory collector won’t collect? Have tried different ships/captains (including very fast and high skilled ones) and calling them up to start the order, but no matter what the assigned ship just seems to sit there. Happy to send a save or debug file. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod but no luck with that either

Out of curiosity, why is this mod listed as version 1.23 on Nexus, while here on Steam the only listed version updates are 1.22 and 1.24?

One little thing:
My inventory collector pilots are constantly say "awaiting orders" after they deposit to HQ. It's annoying and I miss those that I need to check on because I have started to filter it out.
Yes I use multiple due to letting them deposit to HQ.

The picked up items should 'teleport' to your inventory unless 'deposit to hq' is selected. In case deposit to HQ is selected, then then pilot will keep the picked items in their inventory and periodically docks at HQ to store them in your main station storage (accessible from manager's room on a side panel).

If you have Secret Stash, then you can use the default player inventory. If not, then it would be too risky to keep illegal items on you, in that case depositing to HQ is a safer option.

Can you please add options to use predefinied non-default Global Blacklists?
Global Orders way to setup blacklists allow to fast create white-lists. What is beneficial here as you need to whitelist only few "loot collection regions" per scout (collectors tend to be hyperfocused on closest loot goblins if player have too many of them to manage by single scout.

No, I created a vanilla sector activity blacklist where I specifically allow the the terran sectors.
I checked the checkbox that restricts all factions and allow the sectors owned by my faction, the terrans and the pioneers.

I have a small Issue:

The ships do ignore their Individual Instructions regarding their Blacklist settings.
Example: I set an Activities Blacklist to keep the ship in TER Space. However, the collector will continue to service ships wide outside that space. Those ships heve never entered Terran space.

the ships with this order are flying into xenon systems even with the global order set to avoid them for both civilian and military
