Is there a chance to get the colorable light on the illuminated furniture back, or at least set to bright white instead of the warm white?
Redstylt Aug 26 @ 9:40am
Hello, how can we get the research in the same tab as the vanilla one ?
Omega13 Aug 20 @ 1:53am
Wall Mounted Television hates being on a gravship. That thing jumps all around randomly whenever the ship changes orientation.

I got a Mechanite Repair Shelf as a quest reward and it seems like it does not like being in uninstalled form:

I have to add my voice to the complaint on the previous page about the wall-mounted television moving one step sideways after every gravship launch. It will even move through walls entirely if you launch enough times. Don't let your TV get away from you, folks!

A small problem I found is that the outdoor solar lamps do not turn off while a solar flare happens, due to them not using power like other lamps. It's a small bug but it should be simple to fix
NeinDao Aug 10 @ 7:12am
does this mod need the other furniture mod as a dependency?
Celgaming Aug 4 @ 10:00am
I would like to suggest a passageway that is 1x wide that allows pawns to move in space without a vacsuit, like a tube that encases air. Would look like what you see in any Mars related game or movie. Pawns would be covered when moving in there. Could connect buildings on an asteroid without having to build massive 3x1 corridoors everywhere.
Kyle Aug 3 @ 4:53pm
@Pasaway Rimpy is abandonware, it doesn't matter what rimpy says, switch to rimsort. Sure rimsort isn't perfect but at least it's being maintained unlike rimpy.
Kyle Aug 3 @ 4:52pm
@spaceprogram444 Then stop being whiney and just don't use it. If you don't like something either edit it out or just don't research it. Stop pretending your preferences matter when you contribute nothing.
spaceprogram444 Aug 3 @ 7:43am
Mechanite Repair Shelf makes this mod overpowered. I don't understand why this had to be included... There is a reason why stuff like this isnt in the game. With this there is no longer any need to farm plasteel in the late game, making this game less challenging and thus boring at that stage.
Pasaway Jul 27 @ 10:37pm
Heads up. Rimpy is still calling for Vanilla Furniture Expanded as a requirement.
lloki Jul 27 @ 3:13pm
Why I can't change light colour of the illuminated furniture? I can only change to darklight, otherwise it glows with yellow light. I remember it was possible to change it like every light before.
Taikei no Yuurei Jul 21 @ 7:13am
Wondering if it might be possible to get a repair outfit stand. I really like the outfit stands, but it is kind of a pain to try and manage pulling stuff off of there and getting it repaired on the shelf. Would be great if I could just have people switch out their armor with the freshly repaired stuff on an outfit stand. I know it would be stronger than the basic shelf since you could add more than one item, so unsure of balancing. I suppose dividing the repair among all items that need it would be ideal, but I'm not sure if that is possible with how the repairing is coded or not.

Either way, keep up the good work, love the stuff you guys do and how it always feels like such a natural part of the base game.
LZIM Jul 20 @ 7:53pm
after 1.6, odyssey, and the adding spacer module, exotic trader and research page for Spacer furniture are blank. Tried removing the mod and re-ordering its position to no effect. Also when the research is active I tried reverse engineering an item from Spacer section only to get a message that the item needs to be researchable. any thoughts how to resolve this ?
지크라지오 Jul 19 @ 10:02am
Every time the wall-mounted TV moves through the spacecraft, it moves one space away from where it was originally installed.
Troa Barton Jul 18 @ 5:41am
Any chance to add a work light that gives a brightly lit 100% light value? One that doesn't turn off at night?
stinkyFerret Jul 18 @ 1:06am
When jumping on the gravship sometimes the mounted tv moves around
Izmonster Jul 15 @ 11:27am
the wall tv shifts by one whenever you move your gravship
BrenTenkage Jul 14 @ 4:46pm
ah thats fair...just really liked the original Spacer lamps for being both temp control and a cool looking light.
Hykal Jul 13 @ 10:07pm
@BrenTenkage

Flood Lights from vanilla replaced it. Be sure to research Advanced Lighting.
BrenTenkage Jul 13 @ 7:35pm
so why did you remove the spacer lamp by the by?
SquigglyV Jul 12 @ 6:26pm
Liking all the new stuff in this and the core furniture mod. Any chance we can get light colour support for illuminated furniture though? It bothers me that they're pure white and I can't match them to the lighting in the rest of my base.
Illchymus Jul 11 @ 8:21pm
Oskar I'm glad you changed your profile pic. You are an absolute GigaChad. Thanks for having it for 1.6 King.
Anon Jul 11 @ 3:37pm
These mods have such bizarre arguments going on, a testament to the weirdos that rely on them instead of enjoying the game the way it was designed to be played.
Kubility Jul 10 @ 9:09am
Any chance the purifier also regulates temperature like dyson hot+cool? I'd like to set it to 21 and have it heat up if below the target and cool if above.
Jarvy Jul 9 @ 9:14pm
cant wait to use this for the new dlc
Dr. Nornin Jul 7 @ 2:41am
Why the feck was the spacer lamp removed?
Potato Gaming Jul 5 @ 10:30pm
I wonder how a team like vanilla expanded exists, its like the gods of mods for rimworld
Oskar Potocki  [author] Jul 2 @ 10:54am
Modding is a huge umbrella of possible things you can do. Changing values of something, so it costs more resources etc, is easy, and I explained below how to do it. Anything more complex however requires knowledge of coding.
PaPa' SamBuBu Jul 1 @ 5:02pm
@Gerewoatle

Genuine question, is modding this game actually that easy? Where would i have to look to start learning?
VoidEngineer Jun 29 @ 11:10am
Anyone else seeing this exception pop up when they start the game?

@Pauma del Sol
Illuminated furniture requires Advanced components because it provides bonus to rest effectiveness, not just comfort. It's the only furniture in the game that actually improves the speed of resting.

We have recently released a great Vanilla Temperature Expanded mod which allows you to build spacer-tier AC systems, that maintain steady temperature throughout the base. It wouldn't be wise of us to then just add a lamp that does the same thing.

As Gerewoatle said, you don't need modding tools. Notepad++ is a free piece of software you just download. Then you navigate to ...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100/, in here you find the mod you want to edit, and then you go into Defs folder, find the file name related to what you're looking for (for example Furniture) and edit it with xml. Then, it's very simple - everything is clearly labeled and all stats are exposed there.
Gerewoatle Jun 24 @ 9:50pm
@Pauma - Four posts just to post a manifesto wailing about how people don't make things catered to you, personally.

You don't even need "modding tools" for this, but you'd rather be on a soapbox than take the trivial steps necessary to make things the way you'd apparently prefer them.
Pauma del Sol Jun 24 @ 9:35pm
Maybe I'll look up modding tools, but dear gods if I do, I'm making the lamp, and also for the love of critical thought before joy is concerned, clay and mud structures.
Pauma del Sol Jun 24 @ 9:35pm
Modders made this game what it is. Especially with the upcoming DLC, it is evident that the creator is recycling mods into the DLC and updates. Beyond that, we're playing for our own experience, and clearly the modding community has built much more than what is available to start. There's no difficulty to beat, I know with mods there's multiplayer, but this is a sandbox. there is nothing to balance against, just what items and concepts we can allow to exist in a world. It's foul and wild that there's so much effort put into slavery mechanics and conversely that nature loving people somehow abhor woodwork, a contradiction that doesn't exist on Earth, a flanderization of environmental concerns when folks decide to destroy entire forests for a quick buck, versus taking the wood we need.
Pauma del Sol Jun 24 @ 9:35pm
Lights in dressers ought to take components and steel but it's not complicated in the real world. Nobody is going to be able to work with a substance like Plasteel for it to be required for devices and construction if it cannot be produced, but I long ago found mods to add it rather than persist in a sad bizarro world where a slightly better material that has more functions is not able to be produced.
Pauma del Sol Jun 24 @ 9:35pm
Okay, you're more respectful than I expected so I'll be respectful: the base game is grossly flawed and has goofy exponential and wildly unrealistic economic ratios that unfortunately exist in too many games today, but mostly reminds me of D&D, where even marginal benefits have a disproportionately high cost. It's an efficient light that has a heater, after putting in technological advancement that is fair and earned. There are items in game that are less costly to produce and maintain in the real world, to some excess, not the least of which is that temperature control can be architectural, there are cooling roof and wall vents and heaters made of copper running without power.
Oskar Potocki  [author] Jun 24 @ 4:09pm
@Pauma del Sol
You couldn't be more wrong. If something was strong, stronger than the baseline set by the base game, it needs toning down. I accepted the fact that I can't satisfy everyone and there will always be someone unhappy, and I encourage you to use this opportunity to learn basic xml editing so that you can eventually enjoy making mods like we do! It's honestly pretty simple, all you need is notepad++ and to know what file to open in it.

A little pop-up that said 'check the patreon, there were some balance changes' would have been welcome. It's not reasonable to expect players to check the patreon and forums for every mod they have installed every time they boot the game- many of us have over 100 mods going on.

I found out about the changes when my stack of precious Healer Mech Serums - perhaps the most valuable item in the game, that I'd slowly gathered over years of gametime - vanished because I had repair benches queued up.
Pauma del Sol Jun 24 @ 11:18am
Balancing is just internalized enshittification. It makes me sad to see creative people ruining their creations for other people for kicks. If anyone can restore the item in a similar mod, please tag me.
Nitsah Jun 24 @ 10:13am
Was illuminated dressers/end tables color options removed?
Oskar Potocki  [author] Jun 24 @ 8:58am
It's called balancing and it's perfectly fine that everyone has their own vision for it. This is mine.
@UltraEmailMan
It is just strange, to kill viability in most items and remove an absolute God being of this mod (spacer lamp). I am not sure what were the reasons and the sudden shift to more expensive and useless side.
UltraEmailMan Jun 23 @ 10:31pm
@Pauma del Sol:
- The mod was updated recently.
- Spacer lamps were removed (old xml likely remains for backwards compatibility)
- New items were added.
- New textures were made.
- Resource costs were rebalanced.
- The stuffable materials allowed for most of the furniture are woody and metals.

All of this information is available in very easy to read infographics on the modpage you scrolled past to post your comment. The reason they now cost spacer components is probably because it's [h1]S P A C E R[/h1] furniture.

And for those of you complaining you weren't warned about receiving a free content update :
It was announced.
On their patreon.
In publicly viewable posts.
Pauma del Sol Jun 23 @ 3:42pm
Hey, why in hell do the spacer electronics suddenly cost more expensive resources? Advanced components for lights in furniture? And for some reason I can't use stone to make them unless I copy an existing piece? And I can no longer find the Spacer lamp, I just assume that was a bug, especially since I still have many of them on the map.
KingNeo Jun 22 @ 8:40am
was there a reason for the illuminated series requiring advanced components now and not being able to use stone blocks with them? I'm only curious since they're the only source of light I use for bedrooms and generally I make everything with marble, so the update threw me off a bit
Tleno Jun 22 @ 1:32am
May I suggest the Purifier to also improve ImmunityGainSpeedFactor or would that be overkill with all the utility it already provides? Feels like it would be very fitting for hospital use.
