@lonely_grass Only mountain roofs should do that afaik
lonely_grass Jun 1 @ 9:18pm
So, will this roof cause insects to breed?
Or is it a problem with my other mods?

whoever have un-working solar controller that's already properly connected to panels, simply reload the save and problem solves.
PeskyEddieTTV May 9 @ 7:02am
@mile Nvm I'm a moron. Just tested it again, it turns out the south part of the Solar Controller can't be pushed up against the wall. And I know, I just wanted to document it incase someone runs into the same problem as me. Idk why that's the case, but I double checked that it was daytime too.
Mlie  [author] May 8 @ 9:47pm
@PeskyEddieTTV In my tests it works as long as the controller is built first and under the solar roof it should be controlling
PeskyEddieTTV May 8 @ 9:06pm
I checked, and it's not just that the solar controller needs to be built first. Apparently, the controller needs to be built indoors too.
Screaming Chicken May 3 @ 10:31am
You're right, an interesting feature:steamhappy:
Mlie  [author] May 1 @ 9:58pm
@Screaming Chicken No, you just need to build the controller first, then the roofing over it.
Screaming Chicken May 1 @ 3:31pm
Perhaps it could be mentioned in Compatibility
Screaming Chicken May 1 @ 3:26pm
Solar roofs seems to conflict with other mods, causing the output to be 0 W, and the problem disappears after reload.:steamhappy:
Mlie  [author] Mar 28 @ 6:47am
@VirtualZer0 Yes, and my response was that it doesnt happen with only this mod loaded so they should try to find out what mod is causing it. You can use this advice as well
VirtualZer0 Mar 28 @ 6:39am
Transparent roofs only let in 50% of the light, making it impossible to grow plants underneath. This problem has already been mentioned by someone in the comments.
Alex Mar 24 @ 10:32am
you have to replace it with not thick roofing...
Humongous Chungus Among Us Feb 16 @ 11:21am
I was hoping that removing mountain roof, and replacing it with thick stone roofing would stop infestations. It doesn't :(

i have a solar controller and everytime the sun goes down my colony dont have any power even with full batteries
Takel Jan 7 @ 3:14pm
Just a head's up. I'm seeing a weird interaction with this mod which is causing blueprints to ignore underlying objects. eg: building a wall or a fence will go straight over rock/trees without removing the rock/tree beforehand.
I don't know what's causing the unwanted behaviour right now, I'll need to finish doing isolation tests.

Like some others, just wanted to report that the solar controller didn't work until I saved and reloaded. Easy enough of a fix. Love the mod. Great work! This was in Dev Mode though, as I was just tinkering with new mods.
chrismmar Nov 29, 2024 @ 1:42pm
tried it all, didn't work, I assume it might be a mod conflict but I aint seeing any errors on my console.
Mlie  [author] Nov 27, 2024 @ 9:54pm
@chrismmar Try the other way around, or reload the save.
chrismmar Nov 27, 2024 @ 3:30pm
solar roofs seem bugged, I built the roof first, then the controller, still produces 0 watts
Alexander Zagirov Nov 23, 2024 @ 7:37am
@Mlie, I was mistaken. All thick roofs made from modded stone materials disappear after the save reload. It’s definitely a bug. Only vanilla materials work fine.
Mlie  [author] Nov 16, 2024 @ 1:23pm
@RebelKillSwitch Place the roofs first, then the controller
RebelKillSwitch Nov 16, 2024 @ 1:20pm
weird, fresh research, controller placed, roofs placed. 0 watts generated.. reload save, no issues.
Alexander Zagirov Nov 15, 2024 @ 2:23am
There seems to be incompatibility with Industrial concrete mod. It’s designated as a “stone” material and you can build thick roofs with it, but those roofs disappear after the save reload. Other stone roofs seem to work fine, so it’s probably a problem with the material itself. I’m posting it here just in case Mlie can figure out what’s going on and fix it.
Mlie  [author] Oct 19, 2024 @ 5:56am
@jonilgz You can choose if you want the roofs to require maintenance or not
jonilgz Oct 19, 2024 @ 3:45am
The menu option for maintance means you dont need to do maintance or that maintance wont be automatic?
RoriconKnight Oct 14, 2024 @ 7:56am
thats odd, you are right. I tried to rebuild the room and it become "inside" - weirdly though, there is no build roof marker on the tiles.

eh, as long as it works.
thank you for your help.
Mlie  [author] Oct 14, 2024 @ 7:02am
@RoriconKnight No, it counts as inside
RoriconKnight Oct 14, 2024 @ 6:59am
does transparent roof makes the game thinks the room still "outdoor" as if it had no roof?

kinda bizzare I'd say. the main use for this transparent roof is for a greenhouse-like farming setup but being outdoor and subjected to outside temperature is not exactly a greenhouse.
枪马网卡耳朵聋 Oct 8, 2024 @ 10:08pm
I get it. Thank you.
Mlie  [author] Oct 8, 2024 @ 10:00pm
@皇姑屯耐炸王 It depends on the order you build it. When I test it, building the controller first and then build the roof over it usually works.
枪马网卡耳朵聋 Oct 8, 2024 @ 9:55pm
Thank you very much
枪马网卡耳朵聋 Oct 8, 2024 @ 9:55pm
Hello, although it's not a major issue, the solar controller only takes effect after reloading the save file. I hope to be able to fix this problem.
Mask of Humble Sep 28, 2024 @ 3:57am
Thank you, I though I had it right, turns out was a load order problem, I got it to work now, Thanks :)
Mlie  [author] Sep 27, 2024 @ 11:10pm
@Mask of Humble Just needs to be under the solar roof to connect it to the power grid.
Mask of Humble Sep 27, 2024 @ 5:54pm
How does the solar controller work? I have it in the building that has the solar roof and its connected to the power
trouter Sep 23, 2024 @ 12:24pm
Not sure if this is an error - my pawns will safely remove normal roofs, but anytime they try to remove thick roofs they exhibit vanilla behavior and crush themselves. I'm using Smarter Construction.

Not sure if this is just a patch order issue or something, but I know you maintain a shitload of updated mods, so I'd be willing to look at patching it myself if this isn't intentional.
Mlie  [author] Sep 22, 2024 @ 9:55pm
@King It lets more light in when I try it at least so you seem to have some mod issue
King Sep 22, 2024 @ 9:10pm
"Transparent roofs that let almost all light through." It still says lit: 50%. Is anyone else having the problem? Neither this nor the windows mod lets more than 50% of the light in, meaning it is impossible to create a greenhouse.

請問一下,為甚麼我把太陽能控制器蓋在太陽能屋頂下,卻不能產生電力?有甚麼特別的要求嗎? :spiffo:
2892914054 Sep 17, 2024 @ 11:06pm
@Mlie Solved, the solar controller must be installed under the solar roof. Excuse me, author.

anyone able to make a mod or a version of this where you dont need to maintain the thick roofs? i tend to play usually industrial age and i find it kinda dumb that you build tough as hell walls but oh no your roof is corrugated metal lets just crash through it, kinda annoys me if anyone get what i mean? please let me know if there is a 1.5 compatible mod like that already or not, actively looking
