@Sumatris Ive seen no such things with this mod. If you can replicate it with only this mod loaded I can take a look
Sumatris Feb 7, 2024 @ 5:27am
Well, sadly I had to stop using the mod due to its performance impact. Every in-game hour the game basically freezes for several seconds, complete with looping music, to the point I often wasn't quite sure if it would continue at all. Shame :-(.
Sumatris Feb 6, 2024 @ 10:00pm
Just the mod I've been looking for :-). Unfortunately it doesn't get along perfectly with Growing Zones + (can't open the bill menu anymore), but the rest of the functions still seem to work, so I guess it's an acceptable tradeoff.

So I've got stuff like job splitter. The problem I'm having is what I need to do is have some fields actually completely prioritized over others. Switching to harvesting everything before they sow anything doesn't help. I'm looking for something that makes them both sow and harvest higher priority fields before they sow or harvest lower priority fields. Right now with this mod and the job splitter type mods, my options are either
- Sow all fields in order of priority, then harvest all fields in order of priority
or
- Harvest all fields in order of priority, then sow all fields in order of priority
and neither of those are working for me well because of neglecting high priority food fields in favor of low priority cash crop fields.

Unfortunately looking at the way the game works more, I think what I'd need to do is create a separate type of growing zone entirely, which should be doable but is definitely beyond the scope of this mod.

@Timotheeee1 Yes, this mod is for using multiple growing zones, of more sensible size I guess
Timotheeee1 Jan 12, 2023 @ 11:04am
I created a huge grow zone and then the game started lagging like crazy, but as soon as I removed this mod it was fine
Mlie  [author] Jul 10, 2022 @ 1:14pm
@WarKittyKat You could use mods like Harvesting is Plant Cutting and set plant cutting at a higher priority
WarKittyKat Jul 10, 2022 @ 12:30pm
Is there any way to have this override sowing vs harvesting priorities? My problem I'm having is that either my colonists will harvest ALL fields before they will sow any plants, or if I adjust priorities they will sow ALL fields before they will harvest anything. Which leads to things like, a high-priority chemroot field being not sown because a low-priority rice field needs to be harvested.

@Toast Works in my tests
Toast Jul 26, 2021 @ 9:30am
Is this functional for 1.3?
Burnout May 16, 2021 @ 2:05pm
Is there a mod that does this with workbenches?
... Mar 28, 2021 @ 1:28pm
No, will try that. It's strange though, I've never had Rimworld ctd before.
Mlie  [author] Mar 28, 2021 @ 10:06am
@[YAC] Thunderstorm Have you tried only loading this mod to rule out other mod-interactions?
... Mar 28, 2021 @ 9:44am
Unfortunately I get a CTD with this mod on Linux. Tried the Penguin patch and loading the mod first and last. Any ideas?
Sion Mar 14, 2021 @ 6:26am
It might also be a mod conflict causing this, not sure, I have a lot of mods (20-ish, mostly quality of life stuff, no mayor change of gameplay), i will try moving them around a bit & see if that fixes it, I don't think I can turn them all of on my current world without totally crashing it.
Sion Mar 14, 2021 @ 6:21am
The important but neglected field is my food field, but it's smaller & further away than the other.
The big field is a HUGE zone around my base set to harvest only & at lowest priority.
The idea is that I automatically get wood from the rainforest without having to manually assign trees to cut, and they should also automatically only select fully grown trees, for maximum yield.
Sion Mar 14, 2021 @ 6:16am
It's not working anymore, I have 2 fields and they constantly keep working on the one with less priority even when the other needs work. I don't know why it doesn't work & it kind of drives me mad.
Hexatron Mar 10, 2021 @ 7:38am
I think their team is quite helpful when it comes to that. I used to be on their discord a lot, just recently work hours have kept me away.
Mlie  [author] Mar 10, 2021 @ 7:25am
@Hexatron I have no experience with the multiplayer-mod but have some contact with their team. If anyone know what needs to be done Id be happy to update if I can
Hexatron Mar 10, 2021 @ 7:00am
Curious, when you update those mods, would you also be able to make them compatible with the multiplayer mod? I use a lot of them in my single player games, but would also love to use them with my friends.
123caboom Mar 9, 2021 @ 11:56am
TYSM! U are so great!
Mlie  [author] Mar 8, 2021 @ 11:46am
@123caboom @Divinorium @Kykal Its now possible to set priority for multiple zones/pods at the same time
123caboom Mar 7, 2021 @ 7:46pm
Great Mod! Thank you so much for keeping it up to date!
Just one lil thing could be better:
If want to change priority of all my hydroponics it wil be needed to change it solely.
Even if all are selected.
For each already chosen Setting there will be an own priority setting seen in the menu.
Say all are normal, i only see one button.
If i change that to important only one hydroponic will change to important.
Now there will be 2 Buttons, where one is set important(representing the changed one) and one still normal (representing the 39 others).
So i would have to do it 40 times to change all with the only advantage of not having to choose it individually but just change it sequent while having selected all.

As i dont change it every day its just a minor problem, but i had to figure it out first.
Mlie  [author] Feb 22, 2021 @ 1:55pm
@Geojak Great to hear, glad it helped! No patreon since most mods I publish is the creative work of other modders. Just happy to help out!
Geojak Feb 22, 2021 @ 1:11pm
just tested again, and its looking great. the harmony patches tps impact seems to be reduced atleast by factor 6 up to 10. with my current modlist (including rimthreaded) just with this fix this seems to have improved the average max tps by around 50-100, maybe more, but definitely noticable! thank you! do you have a patreon or something? :steamhappy:
Mlie  [author] Feb 22, 2021 @ 10:47am
@Geojak Okay, removed the double iteration on the gizmo-patches. Hopefully it helps in some way. Since I dont have any tests where it affects tps its a bit hard to figure out exactly.
Geojak Feb 22, 2021 @ 10:45am
also dont quite understand why GrowingZoneGizmoPatcher has list and gizmolist. do we need both? unfortunelty i only understand like 15% of the code
Geojak Feb 22, 2021 @ 10:37am
hey, i tested a bit around and compared the old and new version, but unfortunelty it didnt help much. GrowingZonePriorities runs very slighy faster now but we pay this again by needing more time with GetPriorityPatcher. actually 90% of the time spent is according to the profiler on System.Linq: Enumeate to List inside GrowingZoneGizmoPatcher. i used dotpeek to look insie the code and inside that function u call very first thing __result.ToList<Gizmo>() and at the very end it uses __result = (IEnumerable<Gizmo>) list;. now if the code could work on enumerate directlz without the need to convert to list the performance should be hugely improved and the caching maybe would not be needed even
Geojak Feb 21, 2021 @ 3:22pm
Wow thanks mlie, that was fast! I will check it tomorrow after work! Thank you for the update <3
Mlie  [author] Feb 21, 2021 @ 2:42pm
Added some caching to the mod, hopefully making it a bit more effective. Please test it out and report any changes.
Geojak Feb 21, 2021 @ 1:57pm
this mod is great. it is very damaging to the games performance (tps), according to dubs analyser the worst in my 100 mod mostlist, but at this point i cant play without... if possible if would absolutely love if it could be checked if any perfomrance improvements were possibe.
Canticle of a Secret Garden Feb 19, 2021 @ 1:52am
Oh, for heaven's sake. If I had read this comment thread I, another Linux user, would have known better. I even have the Linux patch for Harmony installed.
andluism Oct 31, 2020 @ 2:19am
Oh gee! I spent hours finding mod that causing problem for me while playing on Linux. And it turns out to be this mod and people knew about it. I never thought this simple mod can break the entire game. Well at least now I know.
demarcus Jun 9, 2020 @ 10:57pm
Your a legend thanks for updating so many mods
Divinorium Apr 7, 2020 @ 3:25pm
I just tested. And no. if you select multiple zones and try to change the priority of it only one changes.
Mlie  [author] Apr 7, 2020 @ 2:17pm
@Divinorium No, I have not looked at that. Does it work with multiple growing zones?
Divinorium Apr 7, 2020 @ 2:02pm
@Mlie I'm curious, did you have time to look about the changing priorities in multiple hydroponics?

For what i saw when you choose multiple hydro only the first you select changes priority
Mlie  [author] Apr 7, 2020 @ 12:00pm
It requires some C# knowledge unfortunatly. I dont know of any modder that uses Linux. Perhaps someone the official RimWorld discord can help out? Sorry I cant be of more help, I have a lot of mods to take care of at the moment.
Luinithil Apr 7, 2020 @ 10:57am
I can do basic XML changes but that's the extent of my modding knowledge for RimWorld. What would i need to do?
Mlie  [author] Apr 7, 2020 @ 10:40am
The source for the mod is available from the github-link so I think the best chance to get a solution for this is if someone who is running the Linux-version did some tests with it. Perhaps adding some log-writes so it was more visible where in the c#-code it breaks.
Luinithil Apr 7, 2020 @ 10:31am
Here's another report from the original mod: "This mod breaks game completely on Linux, though it is working on Windows. It will crash the game even on the start, right after the first colonist appears. No other mods except HugsLib and Alien races framework were installed while testing this.

The error logs aren't quite useful though: it tells about a segmentation fault while reading/writing strings. Probably an infinite loop with writing strings that occurs on Linux only.

I also sync my saves from Windows to Linux, so it is proved that this mod works with tons of others (including HugsLib and Alien Framework) on Windows."
Luinithil Apr 7, 2020 @ 10:26am
The original author didn't seem to have done anything about it, AFAIK. AlexTD, or better known here as Uuugggg ran into what might be a similar issue, and used this workaround for his stuff, no idea if it would work on this: https://github.com/Ilyaki/GrowingZonePriorities/issues/1#issuecomment-585094558
Mlie  [author] Apr 7, 2020 @ 9:42am
@Luinithil I dont have a Linux to test this on. Did the original ever fix this or does someone have an idea of what a fix would be?
Luinithil Apr 7, 2020 @ 9:13am
Hi, Mlie, am running the game on Linux, and have run into an issue that was present on the previous version it seems (as reported here https://github.com/Ilyaki/GrowingZonePriorities/issues/1)-- Generating a new world and colony is fine until the map spawns in and the pawn starts moving and then CTD. Have included a pastebin of the raw output log as well. https://pastebin.com/RgGa4Wrd
Divinorium Apr 1, 2020 @ 10:41pm
So... When i select multiple hydroponics and try to change the priority at once it only change one/ a few....
Delta7777777 Mar 23, 2020 @ 5:30am
I was just having this issue.
Why did the devs not add crop priorities to the game originally or in the recent update?
We maynever know...
Thank You for creating this : ) , nice thumbnail too, could have easily overlooked this without it
krzarb Mar 23, 2020 @ 1:23am
I'll second @kmcl11, your work on updating a whole heap of mods is greatly appreciated.
Mr-Bandit Mar 19, 2020 @ 2:58am
last night i was wishing there was a mod like this :P
kmcl11 Mar 18, 2020 @ 7:17pm
Thank you! I have seen that you have re-uploaded many mods, it is appreciated!
