@frasdoge it doesn't seem to be every item for me, but possibly the mirror? I'm not sure but it does constantly give back the original skills so you have both the new and the old. At first I thought it was when you change maps like leaving the tutorial ship etc but it happens more frequently than that.

@Malchezzar and @Farron Are you able to give me some additional info - is it certain items, occuring after a specific point in the game, or more likely is it conflicting with other mods?

I've just tried this out but didn't seem to be able to replicate it. I'm testing with just Odinblade mods and my own.

I'm having an issue where every time you equip an item to your character, it gives you your original racial talents and skills, but you also keep the ones you used the Book of Origin to have. Anyone else having this issue, or know how to fix it?

I'm having a problem. I'm trying to give Red Prince the dwarven Sturdy trait using the book. But after I use the book and check the talents, both Sturdy and Sophisticated are gone. Are you familiar with this?

@Davinator This mod currently does not affect the mechanics of Undead healing, and probably doesn't fit with this mod's goals. That would fit more under a combat rebalance, or a small standalone mod.

@frasdoge I'm looking for anything that can revert the undead setting of healing from poison/damage from heals (to basically make undeads heal like normal humans and take damage from poison), and this is the closest thing to it I've found. Is there any way that could be implemented with changing racial stats?

@Myfi Just as an added thing in case this pops up with other mods - you can grab your local mod files in your documents folder under Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\Mods and give the .pak to your GOG friends. Haven't kept on top of that in a long time.

Could I request an update for the version on nexus please, if this isn't the same version? My friend has the GoG version and this mod's the only one that has a last updated date that's more than a few days apart, it says it hasn't been updated since its original upload in 2020. We have the same game version. We're getting a black screen when we try to load into the game, and I've done this mod loadout with another steam friend with no problems so I know all the mods work together

@kmcsjr @Karma I haven't got time to test and fix that if it is an issue, but you could fix it by using the book again as it will remove all skills etc. so you only have one at a time. Unfortunately the magic mirror is the cause of so many bugs from the jank way it works, even in vanilla.

Found a bug: Using Magic Mirror gives back the original talent while also keeping the new one. For example: Red Prince with Sturdy from the book, gets Sophisticated back after using the mirror, having both Sturdy + Sophisticated after a respec.

Otherwise works great, thanks for the mod!

Huge thanks for the fix, you saved me a mouse click + 4 keyboard inputs every time I load a save.

It may require a new playthrough for the changes to take effect. Not much I can do about that unfortunately due to how the game initialises databases.

@Luxen @DezZzO It should be fixed now. Now looks at the spell names to see if it's shapeshifting by mask, so other poly stuff shouldn't do weird things.

There is an issue that concerns POLYMORPHED statuses, you can loose racial skills with any POLYMORPHED status that is resisted (e.g. Chicken) since in the mod code the Mask of Shapeshifter fix is actually applied to all polymorph statuses, not just the Mask ones and regardless of the saving throw success. That can cause issue with other mods manipulating Polymorph statuses as well.

@Mareb Potentially. I haven't really modded or played this game in years except to update very simple things like localisation files.

Is Conflux generally what people are using nowadays? I don't want to go down a rabbit hole of supporting multiple or conflicting mods. I tried to do that with my class recruiting mod but evidently people kept adding classes and I got too busy to update things.

At this point it's difficult to add things without breaking translations like additional spell and class support too, since so few people offer to provide them.

I'm having my first holidays since graduating next week so I could maybe do a sweep over all my mods if it's not too much effort.

@Midabr This mod is intended for people to role-play with their favourite or custom characters, not affect balance by giving multiple origin spells.

I haven't played divinity in nearly 2 years and only update these mods to fix bugs, so I'm not making that change.

i'll still use your mod because it's really cool to be able to swap racial skills and passives if i ever want to; but i'll do as you said.

i'm new to the Divinity II community and discovered the licence a few months ago and i'm in love with it, so thank you for your work =) Mods are the main reasons i'm playing this game.

@Rathalos23 Yes, the mod currently only swaps origin spells but does not allow to just add them.

A quick way to get your desired behaviour is to make use of the script extender console. I recommend using LaughingLeader's mod manager for the game for many reasons, but in it has a simple check box to do this for you. Otherwise you'll need to go into your DefEd/bin folder, create the file OsirisExtenderSettings.json and paste in the following

}

Load your game save and click into the console, press enter so it shows >> characters, and enter the following (press enter after each line)

chars = Osi.DB_IsPlayer:Get(nil)
for j = 1,#chars do print(chars[j][1]) end

If Lohse shows up as the 1st character she is index 1, 2nd she is index 2, etc.

Then you fill in her number in this line:

Osi.CharacterAddSkill(chars[LOHSENUMBERHERE][1], "Dome_CircleOfProtection")

If you want to remove it, you just say Osi.CharacterRemoveSkill instead.

Hello frasdoge !
I'm looking for a mod that would enable "Dome of Protection" to be available for any Origin character, without replacing the actual race ability, and i'm not sure your mod allows this behaviour, isn't it ?

The goal is to remove Encourage (that Ifan owns already) on Lohse, keep Maddening Song, but learn Dome of Protection instead to try this cool Source spell. I think your mod only allows to swap source spell for another one, and non-source spell for another one... But i may be wrong.

I looked around on Nexus mods and on Steam but i can't find anything closer sadly, for Definitive Edition :( ! Any advices are welcome !

@Terror13 It lets you have the racial skills and talents that being undead brings, but it doesn't actually make you undead (you're not tagged as undead). When I first made the mod I assumed that if you wanted to be an actual undead you'd just pick it in character selection. I can see wanting to change recruited characters to it as a thing though.

I'll have a think about adding it but I'm pretty busy at the moment and having to get translations updated is a pain as I rely on the community to do that for me. The hope is usually that if people are bothered by it not being translated in their language they'll spend the 2 minutes to make a pull request on Github to fix it though.

@Z_EIT I've just tested with only my mod installed and I can't reproduce this. Can you give me some more information?

Contact me on discord at frasdoge#1996 (or here if you can fit it in a comment) with your mod list and whether you have the extender installed, and maybe a step by step of what you're doing. I suspect the issue is a mod conflict, or a bug that happens in a specific circumstance I'm not replicating just starting a new game and using the book after recruiting the characters.

Two of my characters, when I change their talents, the actual one do not dissapear. This is happening with ancestral knowledge. With Fane and with Sebille I already restart the game in remains the same.

@Petrichor I don't really understand what you mean. It works on the player-controllable character that reads the book. If you want to use it in a playthrough with friends, your friends will also have to install the mod.
