Easy Fix method is to download the Equipment Mixing Mod from workshop and the missing components issue should no longer be there. Credits to @Niewykonalny

How to fix problem? When i start game i see Honshu(minerals) didnt have XL Engine? He cant move and i hate this. How to fix this?!?

If this updates then it'll make my one obsolete but in the meantime there is a solution :)

you have to grab all the files Psycho and then repackage back using x tool and save it Ext_01 .....that should change dat file . and put it back into mod folder spot.

It doesn't work initially you have to do what Nividium and physco did thats explained in detail in there thread it works just fine. Takes someone experienced maybe 20-30 mins and a slow typer maybe an hour to fix and boom XL ships

I am about to try this mod however from comments its not working? I dont want to ruin my save can anyone let me know if it is working?

Hi, i`m sharing my attemps so far.
1. Did the Export of the ext_01.cab and got the ship xml files.
2. I have altered the files as explained (with notepad++ really simple)
3. The new ext_01.cab file i have created is smaller than the original one.
Old XML File = 15KB
New XML File= 8KB
Old DAT File = 1.071KB
New DAT File = 537KB
4. After starting the Game there are no XL Mining Ships to buy at any Faction

I know there is something missing, or something I did wrong. But I have no Idea what, or where :(

unable to acquire the X4 Catalog Tool from the egosoft website even with an account, the link to register the CD key is dead/ 404. leaving no official or secondary way to get the tool to fix this mod.
i am unable to have XL engines populate for mining ships of any kind/faction.

equipment mixing still works for me for most things. I usually just put the earlking parts on it. if you don't want to use missiles for turrets

Ok, I clarify for everyone who reads: it is impossible to use the mod without another complementary mod because 90% of all the equipment I add to the ships "engine, shield, weapon, etc. do not work.

I know that you have to download a tool called "X tool" and I know that you have to look for a file called "Ext_01". The problem is that in the game mods I can't find a file called that way. and in the base game there are 9 items with that name. For fear of breaking something I just gave up

If anyone has an idea of how to fix it, they are free to do so and it would be appreciated if they could share it in at least a file format or a mod fix if possible. because from what I see I'm not the only one who didn't understand anything the great lord @Nividium said

Easy fix for the missing components as the tags are wrong in the ship files, change the following in the unit xml files.

Steps
Open Ext_01 with X Catalog Tool
Delete Old Ext_01 and sig
Extract to extensions/extra large miners
Go to Assets/Units/size_xl
Open each ship xml
Replace the following Tags next to each component
Using X Catalog Tool gather folders in extensions/extra large miners
Save As Catalog Ext_01
Have usable xl mining ships
Profitsss

From - To
"turret medium standard missile hittable" -> "turret medium standard missile hittable combat"
"medium shield hittable" -> "medium shield hittable standard "
"engine extralarge" -> "engine extralarge standard "
"extralarge shield" -> "extralarge shield standard "

Dead Mod

Tired this with most recent version (as of writing this) and only Gas Miners had Engines.
Mineral and Universal Miners couldnt be bought or else as they are missing engines :/

Unable to get this to work. At the Argon Shipyard representative when buying a blueprint, expanding the ships category locks up the interface. Can only exit the conversation. Attempting to buy a ship straight from the shipyard results in an error saying missing blueprint.
Perhaps the problem is i dont own any of the DLCs. Or maybe im doing something else wrong. But as of 2/5/2024 this is not working.

Idk why but Steam kept subscribing this despite my download and installation from Nexus and Vortex. It kept ruining any attempt I did to update/fix the scripts.

Will this mod be updated? It’s a damn shame that ships without engines are made (I can only buy working miners gas (liquid). Minerals and universal ones are not built ((( It’s a pity

Really does need an update.
I'm looking on the create a game at the XL mining ships and most are missing either "L" or "M" turrets and or engines too.
Even on some ships it gives me some "M" turrets but no turrets where there should be "M" turrets.

this needs update all ships don't have engines this includes in building menu and one that already exist

ah this is the problem.. i wondered why my ships dont do a thing.. but got also the problem with large miners that they dont got any engines.

Look like this mod completely "Death" Not yet update for new one anymore...

when i pilot this ship,can create a mining fleet and my ships transport their ores to my ship?like stations Transfer wares

Is there a reason why the ships have no engines? Can't build them anywhere.

There is an Equipment Mixing Mod that allows all equipment to be Exchanged Between Races for every ship. That Mod Fixes the Missing Engine Problem for these ships...

Is there any chance this Mod will be made compatible with the Current Game Version?
No Engine and some of the other Equipment is not Available. Preset Options are all Grayed Out.

The Gas Variante is still working, but none of the Others. There is no Engine and no Mining Laser Turret available.

I can't use it any more. The fitting of shield and engine hardpoints is not possible

does this still work with the boron DLC?

It seems like the Hardpoints dont work but otherwise it seems ok

@donut...I remember hearing that no mods were expected to work with Beta6.

I sure hope this receives and update once 8.0 and KE are released. I use several of these ships in every game. I'd hate to loose them.

So why does the Nomad Vanguard Mineral have more cargo than Sentinel? the reverse appears to be the case for the gas variant

OK... The Honshu Gas Miner will not Mine Gas... Even though it has Gas Collector Drones on it.

Yesterday, I had a Universal, a Mineral, and a Gas Honshu assigned to Headquarters, and it did not Recognize the Gas Miner. I had to Assign a Game Based Gas Miner to have the Mission Cleared. "Assign a Subordinate" "Liquid"

Many of the ships Labeled Mineral Miner, do not have Mining Lasers, and they do not have Mining Drones... Can they Mine with neither of these items?? Honshu for one.
