also they could find workarounds for modding sure it wouldn't be as easy and accesible for people but libraries for c++ do already exist and no reason for being not complete they're not a small studio anymore.
Also, I think you should try playing on smaller maps, and optimize your duplicant pathfinding etc. to win some fps.
But that's all you can do, the game is not well optimized for end-end game
+ if the game was made in unreal instead of unity the performance difference would be day and night and that if they utilised the other cpu cores instead of singlethreading, but I also understand if they won't and make a new game similar because it's better off at this point to write it all from 0.
I did not notice any problems with automation but I'm a newbie and don't build complicated automations.
Works well with Whatta Blast update and DLC both off or on.
