In the rare case anyone's still playing W2, you can use it with Jadawin's Progressively Harder Battles to add in bonuses to other stats, or edit yourself with a pack file manager (like rust), very easy. I'll try this with an edited Jadawin mod to get %2 ward save, melee and missile damage, and +1 leadership per bonus level, feels right.

Great mod, ward save definitely seems like the cleanest solution to this. My only criticism would be that playing on legendary it feels significantly easier than vanilla, maybe ramp up the ward save on harder difficulties or add leadership buffs?

Hello mate, awesome mod ! I'd have a request for you though :
Could you make so that the bonuses according to the difficulty appear more linear ?

My thought would go like this :

Easy : 5% ward save for the player
Normal : no bonus for anyone
Hard : 5% ward save for the AI
Very Hard : 10% ward save for the AI
Legendary : 15% ward save for the AI

hink what i've gathered is that this mod effectively negates and makes obsolete the no stats buff mod to me because there's still some difficulty in place which i like. I dunno what 2 think about the prgressively harder campaign though.

i don't want to start 15 campaigns, as I normally do, just to realize at turn 200 that I fubarRed all my campaigns.

As a player these mod's especially on steam, it comes down to 1 feature! at the end of the day, does it F##ing work and wth is it going to do for my experience? I got several mods to wok in conjunction? Maybe you can take a look at them quickly and give me some advice.. All I want 2 do right now is play the game and set and forget it. I have enabled : Difficulty; no ai combat stats buff. : and no antiplayer; mod. Now here I am looking at these 2 further options and I have no idea what 2 do.

**many are correct in assessing that CA botched this feature in this game and is a large oversight!"
Majordea Apr 10, 2021 @ 10:53pm
d!I did a little research on this, and on tabletop the ward save is such a little thing, but often in life, it's the little things that are most important.it's a foundational feature of the game as are the dice u roll! without the dice the game would be bland! Many are correct in assessing so just for the fiuture guy who stumbles on these difficulty mods.. This has to be one of the if not the most difficult aspect of the game..friom a players perpective! we see it everywhere, there's some oddballls out there, but most of us want a compelling experience and balance

wWhat I don't get, and i believe this may b the best author I've seen to ask.. There are like 6 different viable non ai cheating and other mods for this game? what's going to affect the other,?
If I have several of them active, is one of them going 2 nerf the other? I am like on a complete standstill as I henestly don't know wtf to do...I get it, the balance on this game is hard, and we all love/hate CA because what a game, but it stay's ##$***** broken until modders can fix their mess.

this mod claims to have a working slider that seems to accommodate this mod.

So to use this mod you need to put battle difficulty in normal or does it not matter? I agree with Zyke about leadership.
Zyke Feb 28, 2021 @ 4:17pm
I like this mod, but I find it has err'd a little too much on the side of being easier than the base difficulties. I greatly appreciate the lack of melee cheat buffs for the AI, but I feel like they still need a bit more, like a leadership buff scaling with difficultly, to hit the sweet spot of difficultly. Then again I've been playing SFO so perhaps it feels better vanilla.

Amazing mod!

Yes, I don't think any updates will ever break this mod, since it's pretty simple
JeffreyFo Dec 3, 2020 @ 9:13pm
Does this still work? I really appreciate this mod. I wish there were more mods that changed how battle difficulty worked..

Mod works for me

I know this hasn't been updated yet but does it still work for the current patch?
Westonsammy  [author] May 17, 2020 @ 11:24am
Yes

If you use this mod does this disable all of the Battle buffs for AI asides from the ward save?
Runix Apr 25, 2020 @ 12:47pm
This mod is great, thank you! I'm enjoying it with my new campaigns. Combined arms feel much better, since melee and cavalry feel much more impactful, and magic and ranged aren't quite as dominant.

To respond to a point below - I believe that Ward Save and Physical Resist combined are capped at 90%. I believe that resistance can go to 100% if Ward Save combines with a magic resist. But that's a fringe case; for the most part, this should work reasonably well, even with high Ward Save units.
Westonsammy  [author] Jan 21, 2020 @ 12:54pm
@EdTheMad: Yes, should work fine with that mod
EdTheMad Jan 21, 2020 @ 7:35am
Does this work with https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1966206527 ?

I want to play on very hard with all the legendary difficulty for campaign, but your change to Battle Difficulty!
Coffeecoffee Jan 4, 2020 @ 3:11pm
Interesting, I had the same idea about AI battle buffs.
The problem is that it stacks additively with other resistances. It would be great if one could make it multiplicative.

Morale changes were in data.pack/db/_kv_morale_tables , it's easy to spot values difficulty modifier
Can't recall where i saw fatigue, was modding the first warhammer
Guvenoren Jan 4, 2020 @ 1:16pm
Where can I find this table?
SolidDoc Jan 4, 2020 @ 1:09pm
There were also changes to fatigue impact and charge the last time i checked
Westonsammy  [author] Jan 4, 2020 @ 1:07pm
Yes
Guvenoren Jan 4, 2020 @ 1:03pm
Wait, hold on. So battle difficulty not only boosts Leadership, but melee attack and reload too?
