How can I make the stool and blood tests available to clinics again? Do I just remove the required rooms?
I find it weird that you'd have to be admitted just to take a blood or stool sample for testing.

This is a great idea of a mod! I wish it worked with mods that add new departments, but still, great!
Le Leon Aug 24, 2024 @ 6:47pm
Hospilized for diagnosing flu A/B. Health insurances would run storm about this waste of money. :steamhappy:
KhisanthMagus Jan 15, 2024 @ 5:56pm
I've had at least 6 CBC done in my life. 2 while hospitalized. Otherwise go to lab, get blood drawn, and get results sometimes days later. In real life a cbc and other bloodwork is used to screen for a variety of minor things in many countries and certainly not reserve for only very ill patients. It is periodically done for people who have no sign of health problems.

Similar for numerous other things. Stool and urine collection kits are even sent home with patients to collect the sample themselves when they next need to use the bathroom if symptoms are not severe. Biopsies would depend on how invasive it is.

Exceptions for those who go to an actual emergency room or trauma center but this game functions more like a general walk in clinic mashed with emergency facilities. Realism failed on many levels with this game. Requiring hospitalization for many of those tests is the opposite of adding more realism for most of the world.
Chicken Kickin Fun Jan 2, 2023 @ 7:54am
seems to have broke my game now :( i hospitalise someone and the exam still says needs to be hospitalised despite sitting in the bed
Athena Oct 4, 2022 @ 10:54am
Dear Butch, I really like that you add more realism to the game, but because this mod needs patients to be hospitalised for certain tests I sadly don't have enough beds to accommodate the patients anymore. Would it be possible to create a general Outpatient surgery (also known as ambulatory surgery, day surgery- source: wiki)? That way patients from every department can be admitted for less than a day/a few in-game hours for more complex tests/examinations. I'm not a modder so I don't know if what I'm asking is ridiculous or way too much work. I'm sorry if that is the case, then please ignore my post. Best regards, Athena :)
DejaVu Aug 23, 2022 @ 9:42am
Your mods are great because it adds realistic elements into the game. This game would be so much better if it was more realistic. As a doctor, do you think that the symptoms and the examinations are accurate like in real life? It would be great if there was a mod to simulate diseases that match with symptoms and examinations like in real life.
Fruchti Aug 12, 2022 @ 2:38am
I am having the same issues like @Miksus. I am getting pop ups all the time. Is there any way to automate hospitalization?
Miksus Jul 15, 2022 @ 8:36am
It would be a great mod if it weren't for the doctors in clinics not knowing to send patients to the hospitalization. Very often I get the information that they cannot be diagnosed because there are no more tests available. There is of course more test but only after hospitalization.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the game patch did something? I guess it shouldn't be that I have to manually send all patients
Butch  [author] Feb 26, 2022 @ 6:01pm
@Futlin I would have to release a separate version of the mod and continue to maintain it along with my (now) 4 mods. Unfortunately I don't think I'd be able to manage that. The good news is that it's actually quite easy to edit the exams yourself in XML.
Futlin Feb 26, 2022 @ 8:46am
In China, blood tests are quite common for outpatients. Could you please consider making these tests accessible to clinics as an option decided by players? Thx.

New Update:

- Mycological (Fungal) sampling can now be done in any hospitalized patient even outside of the Emergency Department
dialt Jan 12, 2022 @ 5:52pm
In Japan (university) hospitals, blood tests, stool tests, urine tests, etc. are all done on the same day, but I guess that depends on the country.

It would be great if they could just automatically admit you when you need a test!
Butch  [author] Jan 1, 2022 @ 9:43pm
I've uploaded a separate version of this mod for people who play with the Traumatology and Infectious Diseases mods enabled. The "NO DLC" version will still work with the DLCs but will lead to annoying issues. The DLC version should resolve those problems.

You can find that on the workshop here:

Happy new year everyone! I made some changes to this mod to address some of the issues I've seen in the Bug Reports thread. For those of you who don't read the change notes, I'll include them here in this post.

Update 14

- Fixed problem where Transient Elastrograph was not available to select if Sonography room was only available in Radiology Department

- Fixed problem where Post Surgery Blood Control (PS Blood Control) was not available to select

- Fixed issues where patients were stuck in Observation because ER doctors were trying to carry out exams the mod doesn't allow them to

Please make sure that you've fully read the mod description before installing this mod. I've listed the important changes that this mod makes and that should clear up a lot of confusion.
Moist Bussy Dec 30, 2021 @ 3:15pm
How do I revert the changes this mod made?
Taldo Dec 25, 2021 @ 2:23pm
I really like this one
hottt3 Dec 17, 2021 @ 11:34pm
Can I still get achievements after installing this mod?
aurelia alessio Oct 27, 2021 @ 12:18pm
It is possible to easily manually tweak this mod, so I can have bedside examinations, but still can do these (below) at clinics without hospitalization? Or will you (hopefully) make a fork of this mod without these new rules?

- Biopsy Sampling
- PCR Sampling
- Serology Sampling
- Stool Analysis Sampling (except Internal Medicine patients)
- Microscopic Sampling (except Neurology patients)
- CBC (Complete Blood Count) Sampling

Thank you for your time and answer.
Haris I. Pane Oct 19, 2021 @ 11:07pm
So are all those mods compatible with all DLCs?
sandynathan/snake-plisken Oct 13, 2021 @ 2:33pm
i was wondering why lab tests were not working but having read the comments I get it and if im honest it actually makes sense. a really great mod
Pigeon Oct 3, 2021 @ 6:55pm
It doesnt seem the AI uses evaluations as much or at all even with the mod. Was it lowered or there a reason they dont use it?
Lyana Oct 1, 2021 @ 9:06am
I really like this mod, but there is one thing that strikes me as odd. I have a patient with influenza, but the doctor cannot distinguish between infuenza A or B without serologic sampling. This patient has to be hospitalized first before a sample can be taken. I can understand this for very sick people or tests that cannot easily be done in the ER (like a biopsy), but for influenza? Seems a bit much to me.
But aside from little annoyances like that, it's a really cool mod. Thanks for making and maintaining it!
Butch  [author] Sep 26, 2021 @ 9:11pm
Hello folks! I noticed a lot of people reporting bugs that are in fact intended changes to the game. Please read the change notes on the right side of the screen for all the details.
Butch  [author] Sep 26, 2021 @ 9:11pm
- The following Exams can no longer be ordered in a clinic. Patients must be hospitalized for them to be ordered:

- Biopsy Sampling
- PCR Sampling
- Serology Sampling
- Stool Analysis Sampling (except Internal Medicine patients)
- Microscopic Sampling (except Neurology patients)
- CBC (Complete Blood Count) Sampling

This simulates the workup of patients in real life hospitals. Generally speaking, if a doctor is doing blood cultures, PCR tests or taking a biopsy sample; the patient is pretty sick. These patients in a real life scenario would be hospitalized when these kinds of tests are ordered. It might be annoying for players who only want to play clinics and not have to deal with hospitalization but this is a "design" choice on my part. It's both realistic and eases a lot of the workload on your clinics and labs. Otherwise clinic patients who require lots of blood work keep bouncing back and forth between their clinic doctors and waiting outside labs.
Butch  [author] Sep 26, 2021 @ 9:11pm
- The following Exams can no longer be done in the Trauma Center:

- Biopsy Sampling
- PCR Sampling
- Serology Sampling
- Stool Analysis Sampling
- Urine Analysis Sampling

The idea is that Trauma Centers should be rooms where critical patients are quickly stabilized and then transferred away. Before this update, too many patients were spending a very long time in Trauma centers while ER doctors were attempting to completely diagnosis these patients from these rooms.

pruteanucristian Sep 24, 2021 @ 3:57pm
There seems to be quite a few issues lately. Multiple patients waiting endlessly (or just half a day or more) for various small time exams while plenty of staff are idle, mostly in ER. Also doctor teams getting stuck in preparing for surgery. Saving and reloading usually fixes things.
你不怕开水烫 Aug 25, 2021 @ 6:04pm
I found a Blood test related bug. The details are available on the official forum. https://projecthospital.forumotion.com/t3273-blood-test-jams-patients#11896

This bug traps patients to wait forever.
kamryndk Aug 7, 2021 @ 1:56pm
I'm having an issue where basic labs can't be run without the patient being hospitalized. I'm not going to waste a bed on someone so I can find out if they're Influenza A or B.
Tobel Jul 14, 2021 @ 3:12pm
I have been testing this mod for awhile now. It DOES still work, however, there are some chances in diagnostics. Specifically labwork. Hover over the diagnostic test you're trying to do to see new requirements. For example, serologic sampling can be ordered in any department other than emergency. Some of the tests require the patient to be hospitalized.

I don't know if this is on purpose or because of a shift from game and mod, but it does still function and you can get around this. It just makes some early game diagnostics challenging. It does still greatly reduce the annoyances that come with testing a patience in specialized departments. If you have the right equipment in the room, the doctor will take the sample and the lab tech will come get it. MUCH better than a nurse having to haul your patients all over creation, IMO.
Blood&Diamonds Jul 13, 2021 @ 8:48am
This doesn't seem to be working. The doctors in my ER can no longer perform many of their diagnostic testing.
Annika Jul 3, 2021 @ 4:52am
This mod still works for me in terms of bedside examinations, but it introduces a lot of weird bugs like certain symptoms showing they are diagnosed in wrong rooms, or changing what department something can be done at. I'm assuming it's because it wasn't updated in a while and the game might have been patched for some of these changes. If someone knows how to make a mod that would introduce JUST the bedside examinations without altering any other part this mod alters then it would work perfectly.
EasyAce Jun 30, 2021 @ 1:55pm
This worked for me, for a while. But I just noticed some conditions are untreatable. Ex: A patient has either influence A or B... and you need to do a Serological test. Even though you have all the rooms, doctors, nurses and equipment, it says you are lacking "glassware + RIA"... or the nurse/doctor is unavailable. This is happening both from the clinic and from hospitalization.

So while it is not gamebraking, it is annoying.
XDelphi May 16, 2021 @ 10:15am
Sad to hear this is no longer working. It is a great mod.
test Apr 23, 2021 @ 11:20pm
Not working for me either
ksgustavo Apr 13, 2021 @ 7:51am
i think it's not working anymore. it's a pity.
My Name is Mr...Snrub Apr 12, 2021 @ 5:37pm
I was wondering if this mod works with all the new expansions? Or if you include those in your definition of "mods that add new examinations"?
erikickes Mar 14, 2021 @ 12:47pm
Mod never sends patients to the lab for Influenza A or B tests. Getting very annoying to have to randomly choose one or the other.
Bigfool Mar 3, 2021 @ 8:26am
A quick reference, I compared 'ModExaminationsBE.xml' (workshop ID 1870852870) with the vanilla 'Examinations.xml', found that sections
EXM_RT_PCR_TESTING
EXM_ELISA_TESTING
EXM_PULSE_OXYMETRY
EXM_OBSERVATION
were missing, those 2 "TSETING" may involved in the lab mess things, I guess it should be fixed by copy/paste from vanilla .xml file.

Also, I guess some force hospitalization requirement could be ignored by (1) search keyword "<Tag>hospitalization</Tag>", it will shows in few of sub sections named "<RequiredRoomTags>", (2) compare these located sub sections to vanilla .xml, to see if it needs to (depends on the way want to play) add a line "<Tag>examinations_basic_equipment</Tag>"

All above are surmises, not sure about anything, I have only played the game for few hours, currently crazy busy on constructing my hospital, have no real game experiences to verify my ideas.
Definitely this is a good mod, thank you Butch, and really hope someone can rescue it back.
ma4tra Feb 27, 2021 @ 8:47am
Is anyone experiencing a problem where the doctors wont do anything because they are 'on standby for critical patients' ?? please help thankyou.
Angel Feb 22, 2021 @ 12:44pm
yeah, for some reason my hematology labs don't work anymore, the lab options are all blacked out even though I have a great lab set up.
Cheeseman Feb 21, 2021 @ 9:01pm
Sadly it has not received an update in some time and the bugs have increased to the point where I find the mod almost unusable at the moment.
Angel Feb 21, 2021 @ 8:11pm
Does this mod still work? I see people reporting a lot of bugs.
Yaumeister Feb 7, 2021 @ 7:24am
A tip for those using this mod with Infectious Disease, each isolation room also need a CRP scan, equipment cabinet and sanitary equipment (sink) for the room to work, since each room is seen as a "ward".

Otherwise if you just go with the required list as it is in game, you get patients "waiting for a free exam room" when you try giving them bedside exams like blood draw and PCR sampling.

With the required equipment list that Butch has defined for regular and HDU wards, my isolation rooms work fine.
- CRP Scan
- Disinfectant Dispenser / Lab Sink / Kitchen Sink / Sink / Sanitary Equipment
- Defibrillator Wall / Defibrillator (already required by base game)
- Equipment Cabinet / Equipment Cabinet Tall / Mobile Equipment Cabinet / Wall-mounted Equipment
Cheeseman Jan 25, 2021 @ 9:31am
When, it works, it's great, but sadly this mod is currently broken.
aydoggie Jan 23, 2021 @ 8:42am
Breaks infectious diseases. All patients in isolation cannot go to diagnostic units.
LegendFusion Dec 14, 2020 @ 3:00pm
Hi,
could you remove the Pancreatitis handling? It doesnt work properly and i get notification spam about it. I saw in an earlier comment on the bug reports page that you were thinking of reverting to the default treatment for that illness, would be gratefull if you could do so, or if its a small change in the files themselves, i can do that myself, if you let me know which lines i need to edit. Thanks in advance for this mod, i really dont want to play without it, and thus here i am, asking for this ;)
Forcin Nov 14, 2020 @ 1:12am
@jujhu90: Yes, it is because of this mod.
christallire Nov 9, 2020 @ 6:50pm
You missed treatment TRT_INTRAVENOUS_INFUSION in Pancreatitis
jujhu90 Nov 7, 2020 @ 9:24pm
Hi, , sorry i don't speak english very well thanks google.
Bacteriological sampling and serology are no longer available in the consulting room, it is now necessary to be hospitalized. Is it because of this mod?
