Hi! Is it possible to use this mod without resource mods if you are selecting a map size with less than 32 luxes? I.e. a standard map should only generate 24 luxes, thus not requiring the extra resource mods?

Is there a way to make sea resources and land resources more balanced and dispersed? otherwise one of the best mods for this game! thanks a lot

Hi pOkiehl, I started a game with this mod & the "Got Lakes" map mod enabled. I set got lakes to give me a numerous continent map with low sea level- six continents, large map.

I got seven continents and 28 luxuries (includes 6 sea luxuries), a bit random. I repeat tested with a small map and a huge map.

Small map with the got lakes settings set to generate 3 continents I got 5, and there were in total 23 luxuries, and that includes 6 sea luxuries, and query one more as amber was present. So 16 or 17 land luxuries, not 12 or 20. Huge map I set Got Lakes to the lowest sea level, which is intended to give you 7 continents. Result - I got 8 continents, and 37 luxuries in total. Of those, 6 were sea resources (no sea urchins or amber), meaning I got another odd number on land (31).

This is intended to be constructive feedback, not a whine. I actually quite like the random results from the two mods interacting. Do you have a buy-me-a-coffee link?

I have Civitas, Sukritracts, resourceful 2, and latin american resources on but I am getting no sea luxuries. I usually set to large map with plentiful resources. Is that what is affecting it? Im trying to get to the bottom of this issue because no sea luxuries is such a bummer
spiders Oct 18, 2023 @ 8:21pm
what if I have resourceful lite and civitas resources?
p0kiehl  [author] Feb 21, 2023 @ 6:08am
Sukritact's Resources 100% works with this mod.
p0kiehl  [author] Feb 20, 2023 @ 6:02pm
It doesn't need an update.

I'm wondering if you have considered the balance of this mod. Too many types of luxury goods can lead to a complete overflow of the amenity value.
In my game I don't need to build any entertainment district to get +8 +9 amenity.

still work with MP ?
poppek Mar 18, 2021 @ 3:16pm
Hi, I`m searching for a mod, that reduces the number types of luxuries in game or makes it possible to choose the types. Can you help me?
Alf.Net Jan 29, 2021 @ 12:48pm
MarsEco I suspect Standard maps and below should still work fine (they won't require more than 24 resources).
MarsEco Jan 28, 2021 @ 5:11pm
@Junky How? You need the extra resource mods for it to work and none have been updated yet for the new game mode...
Junky Jan 28, 2021 @ 1:25pm
Tested it. Works well with last update.
MarsEco Jan 12, 2021 @ 1:22am
Also with the increase of Continent as the defining character to increase the luxuries, does that mean the number of Natural Wonders increases too? Follow up: Using Abundant or Scarse Resource settings will just reduce or increase the number of each Luxury Resource on their Continent (as well as, how many bonus resources populate the whole world), nothing else, yes?
MarsEco Jan 12, 2021 @ 1:17am
Question: Are the requirements based on the additional mods or any combination of compatible mods that lets you have enough luxuries to populate the map? Example: I want to not sure CIVITAS Re., but I do want to use Sikritact's Re. and the mod Latin America Re.
Quineloe Dec 16, 2020 @ 6:11am
I'm installing after the fucking game gave me 20 sea turtles, no whales, no pearls again.
p0kiehl  [author] Nov 15, 2020 @ 6:26pm
Nothing is weird. That is normal and happens in the game sometimes without mods if the luxury is assigned to say, a smaller than average continent and has more strict placement rules.
Astacius Nov 15, 2020 @ 12:13pm
this mod works but something is weird, some of the luxury resources have only 1 unit on the map, or 2, normally an luxury resource on standard map with abundant quantity has between 5 to 16 units, so number 1 is reallyyyy weird
pauloel7 Oct 21, 2020 @ 7:21pm
Dear p0k, is there a way to increase the number of luxuries per continent? Is it the 'iLuxuriesPerRegion' variable in this mod ResourceGenerator.lua file? If so, say you'd wish 10 instead of 4 luxuries per continent, then would it suffice to change that file line 52 to:
iLuxuriesPerRegion = args.LuxuriesPerRegion or 10;
William Hughes Sep 7, 2020 @ 10:52am
I think I found the issue. I had resources set to sparse. It seems if you do this, you don't get any sea luxuries. I left it on standard and now I have all luxuries. (man the random spawn generator love spawning Turtles. I have almost 30 copies of them).

Question - Can you have Resources 2 turned on along with CIVITAS Resources and Sukritact's Resources? Or does this mess up the spawn count?
ChrisMartin Sep 2, 2020 @ 9:12am
Set Resource to Random at game creation. Use the mod TCS Pedialite to check the map at round 1, and Restart Map if no sea luxury resources.
William Hughes Sep 2, 2020 @ 8:57am
My game I am playing I don't have any sea luxury resources. No Pearls, Whales, Turtles, sea bound Amber or Even Sharks from another mod. No sea resources at all. I am playing on a Huge map 7 seas. Date of Game creation 15th of August 2020
ChrisMartin Aug 3, 2020 @ 11:46pm
I use the mod TCS Pedialite to check at map generation / turn 1.
De_etz Aug 3, 2020 @ 10:11pm
Do you have similar stats on how map size affects other resource type counts? Or where I can look to find out?
ChrisMartin Jun 25, 2020 @ 11:30am
Darn!! Found a reddit thread from 2017, so I tried to change my game-start settings to Resource: Random, and now I have sharks and whales. And normal number of turtles.
But why...? Running standard map, but a few (other) mods adding resources to the game. Maybe a hick-up with ingame generator-script having a conflict with #unknown mod?
ChrisMartin Jun 25, 2020 @ 11:15am
Im not sure where to ask, and pardon me if I am in the wrong place; After May-20 update, all my game has no luxury at sea. If any in a game, it is numerous of turtles. No pearl, no sharks, no whales, no amber (only on land)...
Anyone seen the same behavior? Im running this mod with CIVITAS Resources and Sukritact's Resources.
p0kiehl  [author] Jun 7, 2020 @ 1:33pm
@Cosmic Fox - I loaded up a few maps with just this mod active and I was getting normal amounts of strategic resources. This mod doesn't affect strategic resources at all, because they aren't impacted by continents. I suspect it's either just bad luck on your end or maybe a mod conflict, but I looked at your list and I've got no clue what it would be.
Cosmic Fox Jun 6, 2020 @ 4:32am

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2115840509 Updated Mods, I tried this mod again man, it once again did not produce any horses and 1 iron. I thought maybe the mods I am running might be the issue with yours. I do not know and want to help by giving you feedback.

Thanks!
xxx78 Apr 14, 2020 @ 12:07pm
Im using this mod, I just want more variety in luxury resources on each continent :D
p0kiehl  [author] Apr 13, 2020 @ 4:21pm
Use this mod. That's what it's for.
xxx78 Apr 13, 2020 @ 3:10pm
aha I see, thanks for your reply. About variety I meant for luxury resources, sry for being unclear.
I find it hard to find enough luxury resources on standard settings, and abundant and other settings just seem to multiply resources that's already there, not increase variety.
So I wonder how I can increase variety of luxury resources?
p0kiehl  [author] Apr 12, 2020 @ 5:42pm
Modded map sizes default to using the setting for Huge in the relevant sea resource tables.

I don't know what you're asking in the second part of your question. There's no way to increase Strategic resource "variety" because there are only a few types of Strategic resources and they appear throughout the map. They are not tied to continents like Luxuries.
xxx78 Apr 12, 2020 @ 5:36pm
Nice mod. I see you increased sea luxuries at default map sizes, but I can't see anything Massive and Gigantic maps? Also Im struggling with enough luxury/strategic resources on standard resource settings. What can I do to increase resource variety even more?
Amondin Mar 28, 2020 @ 3:50pm
Absolute legend.
Amondin Mar 28, 2020 @ 3:50pm
You're beautiful, has anyone told you that today?
p0kiehl  [author] Mar 28, 2020 @ 3:23pm
OK, the mod has been updated.

It will work if you have either:
(a) Resourceful 2
or
(b) Sukritact's Resources AND Civitas Resources

It will also work if you have all 3.
Amondin Mar 28, 2020 @ 3:16pm
I'd love to use this mod, but the majority of the resources in the two required mods are very underpowered given my modset... could this be made compatible with just Resourceful 2 as well, for those who don't want to use the others?
Kleeve Mar 2, 2020 @ 3:19am
I ran into a prob where a mod caused a crash - removed them all, but now I have an issue where all the resources are duplicated. Its very tenacious - any idea which folder I can delete to restore the settings to normal?
PhazezGova Dec 9, 2019 @ 8:08pm
But very great mod.
PhazezGova Dec 9, 2019 @ 8:06pm
i don't have suki reource, because it isn't compatible with resouceful 2. does it still work?i hope it :-/. So i have: Resourceful 2 and CIVITAS Resource
=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil Nov 18, 2019 @ 11:24pm
Hey p0kiehl!

I normally play on small or standard. What would I change to only increase the variety of resources to add in say 2 more, instead of 8?? I am only using civtas resources

UPDATE Maps
SET Continents=Continents+2;
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Resource_SeaLuxuries
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE Resource_SeaLuxuries
SET Duel = 5, Tiny = 5, Small = 5, Standard = 5, Large = 5, Huge = 5
WHERE MapArgument <> 1;
Ingolenuru Oct 29, 2019 @ 12:36pm
I think it is a balance mod for larger maps because you have more cities which means you need more amenities for the larger size of your empire. Great job.
wolf_brother Oct 3, 2019 @ 9:48pm
Would really love a stand alone version of this.
Burp Reynolds Sep 22, 2019 @ 5:44pm
Wait. There's Ludicrous maps?
Kmicik Sep 22, 2019 @ 10:42am
I can not find it
p0kiehl  [author] Sep 22, 2019 @ 5:01am
It's not a mod. It's part of the game now. Check under Settings.
Nizou Sep 22, 2019 @ 2:20am
Not the good place to ask it i think, but i'll answer you :
Extended Diplomacy Ribbon or Better Leader Icon (UI)
Kmicik Sep 22, 2019 @ 1:59am
What mod is showing the details under the heads of leaders?
