While I get where you're coming from, I think that so long as it doesn't break from the Dota setting or a characters style specific character lore then whether or not it's within the lore is a mute point. Why would Pudge wear a hockey mask? Why would Pudge have a comb over and a moustache?

While it's a really nice job (the colors and tones, especially the 'tuft'), I think you should stick to pudges lore about being a battle-field-cleaner-upper (aka, not classy).

Also, like you said, since Halloween is coming up soon, maybe since he is a butcher, he found some good skin on the battlefield and stiched together some macabre mashup to suit his tastes? Just a thought.
