It's version 10 for a reason, this mod is not supposed to be run on a current version of the game, it's old, meant for earlier game versions. The mod itself is deprecated. I only left it there, because people apparently still use it.
Jul 16, 2023 @ 11:11am
because its on version 10 and now its 12 and you need to change the version which is very stupid and annoying

Why? The Focus tree is an updated version of the old (bad) soviet one. Many things wouldn't work at all without a complete overhaul of the mod.
Mar 29, 2023 @ 9:10am
@KubiG can you update this mod?

Yes that has been fixed, also they've fixed the Bosphorus being closed even when it shouldn't be.

"Soviet AI Navy sits idle in ports – because, they're trying to merge and reinforce through the various canals, such as the Bosphorus, which is usually impossible. Paradox bug which I can't fix."

Did they fix this yet?

honestly, the new tree is way too big. you will never finish it before 1948
Apr 8, 2022 @ 7:48pm
Thank you!

Hello guys, the Soviet "No Step Back" DLC and patch 1.11 will be released today, making this mod redundant. So I'll no longer keep it updated and leave this mod as it is (if someone wants to play older version).

So thank you all who tried my mod, I never expected over 4k subscriptions! (11k+ total) :-)

1960s tech mod, thanks for the tip
KubiG  [author]
Apr 26, 2021 @ 6:54am
What mod do you have in mind? I've been thinking of making a version compatible with extended 1960 tech mod. But you can also just delete the Technology folder inside the mod (in 'common' directory). But the launcher may redownload the file later, IDK.
Apr 25, 2021 @ 2:34pm
could you possibly remove or make a version of this where the tech tree changes are removed so that it is compatible with tech tree mods
Apr 22, 2021 @ 5:06pm
Yes, he does want to translate this mod to Russian. Hit me up if you need a hand with this, Учусь играть. Else, please keep us all updated

Учусь играть I can't speak russian, you want to translate the mod to russian?
Apr 16, 2021 @ 8:50am
Я тупо хочу замутить на этот мод перевод.

Привет , а можно мне сделать перевод ?

Update about Bitter Peace: I've decided to not implement the feature, as there's a whole mod dealing just with that, unsurprisingly called 'Bitter Peace'. I haven't tested it though.

up?

Uh, I don't know, honestly I haven't really worked on it at all last month or so. Maybe I'm just a bit tired of this game already after so many hours playing it. But at very least I'll of course keep the mods updated and fix bugs, if there are some.
Jan 6, 2021 @ 10:27am
any word on when we'll finally see that new update?
KubiG  [author]
Dec 7, 2020 @ 2:21pm
I've already implemented those changes, except the "construction queue" - I see no point in queuing even more ships when soviets start with 6 dockyrds and dozens of submarines already queued. You'll have much better ships researched years before these are done (and AI too).
Dec 6, 2020 @ 3:50am
Dec 1, 2020 @ 1:02pm
Maybe it was when i researched it while researching other industry tech, maybe it bugged there
KubiG  [author]
Dec 1, 2020 @ 5:32am
Sadly no, the AI fleet management gets broken if one part of it is 'locked' somewhere - as in the Black Sea. I thought the Bosphorus DLC will allow this strait to remain open to Soviets. But lazy PDX did not include that.

@Ricardinho - please try this test - run the game with only this mod, 2) start a 1936 game as Soviet Union
3) Don't research anything and complete the "Next Five Year Plan" focus (and the one before), speed 5
4) Look at Industry research tab, there should be a bonus to Construction tech 1 named "Industrial Bonus"
Nov 30, 2020 @ 11:58pm
Known Issues:
Soviet Navy sits idly in ports – because, they're trying to merge and reinforce through the various canals, which is usually impossible. Paradox bug which I can't fix (maybe Bosporus DLC will fix it).

Fixed?
Nov 30, 2020 @ 12:04pm
I was just using your mod ;~;
KubiG  [author]
Nov 30, 2020 @ 8:08am
It works on my end. I have just tried it.
Aren't you using some tech mods or the like? They might cause this bonus to not work.
Nov 28, 2020 @ 6:22pm
I didnt have any bonuses before, it was the first 2 focus I did, I was researching the first two industry things and it didnt give me the next one :C
KubiG  [author]
Nov 28, 2020 @ 6:09pm
It gives 1 construction/excavation-only bonus.
Maybe if you've already had different bonuses from elsewhere this one would not be shown. They don't seem to stack.
Nov 28, 2020 @ 5:28pm
The focus "Next five year plan" didnt give me the research bonus

@R o o s o n you're welcome. :)
@Riekopo yes, but they work, 1.10.2 is just minor patch. I use them unupdated without problems.
Nov 19, 2020 @ 1:00pm
Will your other mods be updated too?
Nov 19, 2020 @ 7:12am
Thanks! Im Soviet Main and needed this mod. Thank you!
Oct 31, 2020 @ 7:09pm
Comparable with other mods?
Oct 30, 2020 @ 8:03am
@KubiG Looking forward to that, and as for Japan and the Allies, the way I could see it is Japan seizing North Sakhalin and outer Manchuria including Vladivostok as part of the event if they're at war with the USSR also, maybe Kamchakta too at most. As for the Allies, if Germany and Japan have already crippled the Soviet Union in Europe and the Far East, I don't think they'd pursue a further war either as the threat has been neutered. Maybe another event like "End of the Soviet War" that would white peace them.

The easiest solution though is simply making it an event for if the Axis owns key Soviet states (Moscow, Stalingrad) and the necessary capitulation points for the AA line have been seized up. You don't necessarily need to account for every other nation for it as I imagine the German-Soviet War is what It'd be used for, though maybe the event can peace out both Japan and Germany with their desired territories if they're both at war.

Oh and there are still cases where the Soviet AI just have its ass kicked by (lend-leased) Poland... xD I don't know what would the Poles do with the Soviets if they won another war against them.

The peace conference have been a real mess since, perhaps 1.7. Even democracies tend to just annex a lot of territories and liberate pieces of countries into a terrible bordergore that doesn't make any sense.

Oct 30, 2020 @ 7:32am
Thanks Lazmanya :)
@mengele There is already the Mass Production focus, and 2 other focuses reduce production cost for tanks and some planes. It's not much, due to balance, and because Axis AIs tends to loose a lot nowadays, but... seeing the powercreep from the last DLC, I don't know anymore...
I do have your Bitter Peace suggestion in mind, I already worked on that a bit, but it will take some time, I'm not sure how to handle it, if for example SU is also at war with Japan, or the Allies when it should happen, how would that go.
Oct 30, 2020 @ 7:23am
I really like the new focuses, they're great for giving the USSR necessary defensive buffs and the ability to counter, though I think adding a national spirit via focus to account for Soviet mass production post-1942 would also be ideal to give them the production buffs they should have over Germany late-war.

Would you ever consider adding a better German-Soviet peace in the case Barbarossa is successful though? Incorporating a simple Bitter Peace event when the Soviet Union is at a certain capitulation point would seriously assist in avoiding border gore.

Engineer is credit to team! (I've been trying to find a soviet expansion mod for a good while.)

Hi @feesh, luckily for you I have the 1.8* version of the mod, I'll send you a download link tommorow, if you want. Or write me an email adress.
Oct 9, 2020 @ 4:39pm
Is there a way I can get an earlier verison of this mod, as I am playing on 1.8.1 and for various reasons, am not willing to update to a later patch.
Sep 6, 2020 @ 12:08pm
another suggestion tho, if you've ever played HOI2 or 3, it'd be great to implement the "bitter peace" event from those games into your mod. if you haven't, basically, once the germans had taken the three major cities and the archangelesk-astrakhan line (barbarossa's goal) an event would fire in which the soviet union would ask for a cease fire establishing european russia in german hands. an official cease fire can be disputed as unrealistic, but if the germans did secure the AA line the soviet union would've been crippled beyond any ability to repel and the germans would've been too stretched to continue. an event to end the war with the AA line border as a kind of unofficial cease-fire would fix the problem of germany simply annexing the entire soviet union.
Sep 6, 2020 @ 12:08pm
i see your point, but at the same time one could say that the soviet resistance and fanatical will did sort of come from "thin air" in that theres not a single sort of reason they were able to hold down and suffer as they did outside of their struggle for survival. i think if you dont want it to just suddenly come out of nowhere, stalin's july address calling for total mobilization could be made into an event that initiates buffs.
KubiG  [author]
Sep 4, 2020 @ 6:36pm
I thought about that a lot when making this mod, but I didn't like the idea of having straight buffs out of thin air. New focuses/ideas just use existing modifiers - Soviets mobilise faster, suffer less winter attrition, have extra manpower, some extra stability. And there is already that Order 227 Decision, which adds defense.

But ultimately, it's still just about how you (or AI) play with your divisions, and no amount of buffs can save the dumb AI beyond certain point (east of Don, they nearly always loose)
