Like I said, it takes one line of config to fix Battlelord.
The Chocobo Racer Jul 29 @ 2:20pm
Well the issue is that skirm is limited to two actions total as a result of battlelord, when the ability itself specifically says you get an action after each enemy action in line of sight. It should be identical to Alien Ruler behavior, that is the bug.

That interrupt bug, wherein reinforcement pods got to resume a full turn immediately after spawning (related to summoning sickness) was thankfully eliminated a couple of patches ago, thankfully.

The battlelord bug is still just one of the most prominent bugs that I know exists in vanilla for the skirmisher class, as it makes Battlelord almost useless
Iridar Jul 29 @ 11:57am
The basic fix for Battlelord to allow it to make more than one action is a one config line edit, you can easily do it yourself locally. Interrupt, as far as I know, doesn't have any partiuclar bugs as long as you have just one Skirmisher and don't expect Interrupt to be actually useful.
The Chocobo Racer Jul 29 @ 10:59am
Well sure, but I mean it would be nice to have a wholesale community fix for some of the remaining skirmisher bugs. I do like the ideas of the skirm reworks though, and will probably try them out eventually
Iridar Jul 29 @ 10:54am
Vanilla Classes Redux does that and makes more changes to make Skirmishers truly awesome.
The Chocobo Racer Jul 29 @ 6:51am
I am dearly requesting more fixes to my favorite class, the skirmisher. The work that has been done is much appreciated, if you could quash the battlelord and interrupt bugs, that would be outstanding
BlackDog Jul 22 @ 1:36pm
That's fairly surprising - there are no AI changes in the 1.30 beta to my knowledge. This is the changelog: https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/X2WOTCCommunityHighlander/releases
MatthewMeeple Jul 18 @ 10:43pm
Enemy AI is significantly more challenging with 1.30 beta compared to 1.29. Enemies hunt you down, even through doors. Supply crates get tagged by Advent far outside of soldier movement. I'm going back to 1.29 Legendary difficulty.
Britishexplorer Jul 15 @ 8:22am
Interesting, I definitely get this version of the highlander mod when it comes out, reducing the quantity of mods (because the fixes are no longer needed) is always going, to slightly increase the speed of the game.

I just hope that in someway the highlander will help with appearance mods loading, so when I customise my soldiers I don't have to take as much time.
XpanD Jul 15 @ 7:33am
I started a new run earlier and noticed that my geoscape was significantly smoother, though I have shifted a few mods around since my last run. Nothing that I /think/ would affect that, though... Wonder if the Highlander update is making a difference there, but it's been a good experience so far.
Iridar Jul 15 @ 4:40am
Yes, some improvements specifically affect performance, though there's no guarantee it will affect the specific issues you experience.
Britishexplorer Jul 15 @ 3:48am
Hello, I won't use this mod yet, but I am a bit curious:
would the improvements made to the highlander due to this mod, enhance performance of modded X-COM overall?

So for me I use the unrestricted customisation mod (final redux) and its kind of slow (frequent lag spikes) when customising my soldiers, would the changes by this mod increase the performance?

Iridar and your team, you all rule! Thanks!

An update to full version 1.29.0 has been published. Full changelog can be found here:
https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/X2WOTCCommunityHighlander/releases/tag/v1.29.0

Importantly, the following bugfix mods have been integrated into Highlander and you no longer need them:

[WotC] Revival Protocol Fixes
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1123037187

(WOTC) Revival Protocol Charges Fix
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1862336674

They DO NOT conflict with Highlander, but there's no reason to use them either. You may still want to use the Charges Fix mod if you want to set non-default amount of bonus Revival Protocol Charges, which is currently 1/1/2.
Alexandr Nov 26, 2024 @ 6:04am
No worries! I'm sure I'll get this going eventually with the building on my end. You have instructions plenty clear, just I've missed something preparatory or expected. Between that and r/xcom2mods' wiki entries I should be good.
Iridar Nov 26, 2024 @ 1:35am
Sorry, you'll have to wait until the full 1.29 release.
Alexandr Nov 26, 2024 @ 12:58am
I hate asking anything of Iridar, as I know he's a busy one, but I'm dumb. Is there any chance you could push an update? I've tried to build the mod and have been hitting a wall. The target sort caching is something I desperately wish to utilize.
Haydern Nov 5, 2024 @ 7:04pm
Thanks. Manually installing the highlander worked. Still very strange, because it was on steam mod folder.
Iridar Nov 4, 2024 @ 5:55pm
See the two troubleshooting links in the description above.
Haydern Nov 4, 2024 @ 5:50pm
@Dragon32 i have the same problem of @Alakhai, but my game doesnt launch (im getting error detected attempting load of package xcomwotccomunity highlander)
Iridar Nov 1, 2024 @ 6:26pm
It seems the patch notes for the latest update are once again incorrect, fewer changes have actually made it into it. Apologies for the confusion, it seems the way I roll out partial releases needs some refinement.
Mentioned features will make it into the Highlander eventually.
Dragon32 Oct 9, 2024 @ 11:31am
@Alakhai
AML reports as Dependencies what mod authors have put on their mod's Workshop page. Shouldn't be an issue.
Alakhai Oct 9, 2024 @ 10:18am
Hi, is it ok, that after swaping to LWOC [experimental] and this version of Highlander two other basic mods fo LWOC - Accurate Situation Report and Community Promotion Screen are missing dependencies, witch is previous version of highlander (1.28) ?
meowbaawoof Oct 6, 2024 @ 4:58pm
I didn't have any problems, I just wanted to say you guys are a great group of people and I see highlander is still updating today. While firaxis is only fool players by Chimera instead of xcom3, there are some people who are fighting for a better xcom. thank you.
Alexandr Sep 5, 2024 @ 2:08pm
Astounding work, as always! Going by the Github, it looks like that DLC Hook Manager should improve things drastically for people with enormous modlists.
X2CommunityCore  [author] Sep 5, 2024 @ 12:31pm
@everyone
Published an update. Two important changes are:

Bugfix: Tentative fix for the crash that sometimes occurred while firing weapons or using grapple. May fix Templar Channel crash as well.

Performance: added DLC Hook Manager to call DLC methods only from DLC Infos that actually implement them. This should make frametime spikes less pronounced.

These features are very experimental, please keep an eye out for anything weird.
RolandJ Sep 5, 2024 @ 6:34am
Great, thanks!! I'd think this should get great fanfare, as in my opinion this CTD issue is extremely invasive and far too frequent, given the right conditions - a templar with channel and lots of grappling and/or special ammo usage, which should be quite common. Therefore, a fix for this issue is super exciting to me. :)
Iridar Sep 5, 2024 @ 12:49am
This month.
RolandJ Sep 4, 2024 @ 7:06pm
@Iridar Thanks! I'll see if I have success with the older version. Since us outsiders have zero knowledge on what a realistic ETA is on such a release, could you please give me your best guess? Are we looking at a month or two, or six months, or a year? Thanks again.
Iridar Sep 4, 2024 @ 4:33pm
@RolandJ
Fix will be added when it's ready.

It seems all of these issues are caused by the fix to the memory leak associated with firing projectiles that was added in 1.22, so until the fix for the crashes is published, if you don't have any mods that require a version newer than that, you can roll back to 1.21, previous releases are available here: https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/X2WOTCCommunityHighlander/releases
RolandJ Sep 4, 2024 @ 4:05pm
@Iridar When will the fix for the Templar's Channel ability make it into this version of the mod? The one that fixes the crashes related to grappling, whiplash, and using special ammo that are caused by a previous update to the highlander?
Mustang0524 Aug 4, 2024 @ 6:27am
Just want to thank you Iridar, not only for this mod but several other mods that are a mainstay in my load order. Thank you for taking the time to keep these updated and improving them over the years when you don't have to. Whether your playing the game or not, that says a lot.
Jonny Woo Jul 26, 2024 @ 11:13am
@Iridar got it. thanks!
Iridar Jul 25, 2024 @ 11:55pm
You can set the "ignore" checkbox on individual dependencies.
Jonny Woo Jul 25, 2024 @ 11:57am
Hi! I switched to beta 1.29.0 based on Iridar's comments on several fixing mods, that new Highlander fixes those issues. All good except that in AML mods that depend on Highlander 1.28.1 are red like they're missing dependencies. Is there any way to solve this or should I just ignore it? Thanks!
X2CommunityCore  [author] Jul 15, 2024 @ 11:37am
Update to v1.29.0 has been published.

For this version we're going to try something different. Rather than publishing one big update all at once, we're going to gradually add new features without changing the version number.

Right now there are only a couple of small changes. You can view them and future changes here:

https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/X2WOTCCommunityHighlander/pulls?q=is%3Apr+milestone%3A1.29.0+is%3Aclosed

When the time comes, a full properly formatted changelog will be made available.
ZLRider Jun 21, 2024 @ 2:08am
I just experienced the issue with the freeze/infinit load on launch problem and copying the Highlander's CookedPCConsole folder into %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame did indeed fix the issue. Thank you for the heads up, Dada and Iridar.
Dada May 31, 2024 @ 3:16am
Alright thank you :)
Iridar May 30, 2024 @ 10:33pm
Copying files manually, as you have already done.
Dada May 30, 2024 @ 6:32am
Figured I'd ask, is there anything we can do on our end to fix this?
Dada May 30, 2024 @ 4:50am
Thank you for the quick answer
Iridar May 29, 2024 @ 5:50am
This happens for some people for reasons unknown. It has to do with how the game loads script packages, not with the highlander itself, which works normally for vast majority of users.
Dada May 29, 2024 @ 5:21am
Hey, haven't seen it mentionned anywhere so I figured I'd report it here, currently both the stable and beta versions cause a freeze/infinit load on launch. What seems to happen is the script is looking for the cooked folder in the mydocuments path instead of the mod's. I tested it on 3 fresh installs, with only the Highlander mod, etc

Copying the Highlander's CookedPCConsole folder into %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame lets the game load "normally"
Iridar May 10, 2024 @ 10:55pm
@MrCloista
I honestly don't remember. Currently no plans for that, but it's not out of the question either.
MrCloista May 10, 2024 @ 5:08pm
@Iridar what is the visualisation issue for Incinerators with Spark Arsenal? And is there any plans to integrate the fix either into spark arsenal itself or into the highlander?
Iridar May 7, 2024 @ 1:10pm
@munn0726
There's no harm in still using Weapon Fixes alongside BETA Highlander if you still need Weapon Fixes for something. In case of SPARK Arsenal, Weapon Fixes is required to fix visualization for Incinerators, so you should keep it.
Mr. Hotdog May 6, 2024 @ 5:12pm
@Iridar

Thank you. If I unsubscribe from weapons fixes, will your Spark Arsenal 3.2 still work? I just saw a big warning, lol. Thanks again!
Iridar May 6, 2024 @ 11:29am
Unfortunately there's no centralized resource for that.
Mr. Hotdog May 6, 2024 @ 11:12am
Random question. I was unable to find anything specific( maybe a failure on my part), but is there a resource where I can find the mods I no longer need if I am using the Highlander/beta?
Iridar May 4, 2024 @ 1:03am
@Unkown Rose
There are no fixes in this update that will help you resolve that issue.
