Thank for letting me know
Assailer  [author] Apr 6 @ 1:16am
It does.
enterprise1959 Apr 5 @ 1:38pm
do it work for 7.5
shawn4games Mar 29 @ 6:54pm
Does this no longer work?
Assailer  [author] Mar 23 @ 2:24am
just use secret stash and forget about police :)
arghy Mar 23 @ 1:51am
Yeah i had the inventory collector mod but i never expect my massive and ever expanding miner fleet to constantly be picking things up. The entire concept of sector police for player inventory shit is so damn dumb and frustrating.
Assailer  [author] Mar 23 @ 1:11am
arghy: For now use the Secret Stash mod that will hide illegal items from police. This mod runs for all your capital ships in the background, therefore it's not possible to configure individual behavior like it would be for a direct order. You may also use Inventory Collector mod to move the collected items to HQ.
arghy Mar 22 @ 11:58pm
Hey so quick question: why the fuck are my miners collecting AGI cores then constantly being attacked by police when global orders is to comply with police inspection? Never used to happen before but since i got this mod i've lost over and hour of game play by having to save scum and manually collect every miners loot before they aggro the entire sector somehow.

What is important that the sub-string function will detect the four consecutive characters of [DP], but for better readability i suggest a space character that separates from ship name.

It should work for all these:
Shipname [DP]
[DP] Shipname
The [DP] Shipname
Shipname[DP]
[DP]Shipname
The[DP]Shipname
Quin Jan 7 @ 8:39pm
1.08 - Adding [DP] tag to ship's name will Disable Pickup feature for this ship.

can you elaborate on this? adding "[DP]" with or without apostrophes? example: [DP]shipname or DPshipname?

Yep, it seems to work. Although 3 S ships with inventory collector role managed to clear most of them pretty fast. Thanks for your mod collection! :steamthumbsup:

Use the Secret Stash mod to hide illegal items.
A.M.A.Z.O. Dec 28, 2024 @ 5:13am
The mod does as it was described, but an option not to collect illegal stuff or at least a list of wares not to collect would be nice. On large fleets there are higher chances police will discover those items and attack your ships. I'll try to use the Inventory collector mod with this hoping it will decrease the chance.
Assailer  [author] Oct 26, 2024 @ 11:06pm
Select the ship, find its captain and check its inventory. (or teleport there and talk with it to hand over the inventory). I will test this in a few days, but a few weeks ago it worked for me and there hasn't been any patch since.
Fidel Castro Oct 26, 2024 @ 4:00pm
Yes, that is what I meant. My ship picks it no issue but not the NPC piloted ships
Assailer  [author] Oct 26, 2024 @ 2:32pm
They only pick up inventory items, not the large cargo.
Fidel Castro Oct 26, 2024 @ 1:14pm
Seemingly my npc piloted ships are not picking up the cargo.
Assailer  [author] Sep 22, 2024 @ 9:38am
Secret Stash works for all your ships. Maybe i need to check/update readme on that mod.
unr303 Sep 22, 2024 @ 6:31am
Secret stash works for player ship but for AI controlled ships you get a log of reputation loss. Would help if there would be an option to ignore illegal items.
Assailer  [author] Aug 19, 2024 @ 7:31am
Issras: Secret Stash mod didn't work for you?
Issras Aug 17, 2024 @ 4:27am
Hello, would it be possible to add an option so that ships don't pick up illegal goods? Because of this I keep having problems with the police of the different factions and losing a lot of reputation, I had to deactivate the mod because it was so frustrating.

If there would be an easy way to add specific mod related global configuration to user interface i would do it. Just for saying this, you are the man. Thank you for your great mods!

ScorchedPsyche Aug 6, 2024 @ 11:52am
I guess if I replace this:

<do_if value="$ship.isclass.[class.ship_l]">
<set_value name="$limit" exact="1"/>
<set_value name="$range" exact="200000"/>
</do_if>
<do_else>
<set_value name="$limit" exact="3"/>
<set_value name="$range" exact="400000"/>
</do_else>

With only:

<set_value name="$limit" exact="3"/>
<set_value name="$range" exact="400000"/>

Should work for what I need, right?
ScorchedPsyche Aug 6, 2024 @ 10:31am
Great mod! Anyway to disable this per ship group? For example, only pick items with XL and disable for L? Kinda cumbersome to add the [DP] tag for all large ships since I built them for trading and mining and don't want them to pickup loot
GodsAnger Jun 22, 2024 @ 10:25pm
Thank you for your excellent mods :selike:
Assailer  [author] Apr 26, 2024 @ 5:28am
Zyntar, yes, and of course i wanted to make it like that, but back in the day i found out that it would introduce potentially irreversible changes in save files, which i'm super against. One thing i can promise is to look into that issue one more time - after i have finished refactoring my sector explorer mod.
Zyntar Apr 26, 2024 @ 5:02am
@Assailer Thank you for mods what you creating. They are really amazing.
I have small suggestion but I think it will be a lot of work.
To change Loot magnet to software upgrade in shipyards, after teleportation research (or even create new research ex. collector beam studies or tractor beam studies).
Assailer  [author] Mar 12, 2024 @ 10:42pm
Yep, it's slow on purpose to make sure it won't unbalance game with rare drops.

If you want to increase collection rate to 3x, why not invest in two more collector ships? :)
Vyss A'lare Mar 12, 2024 @ 11:59am
I love this mod but damn do I wish there was a variant where a special ship could do the function but perhaps even better. Like making it so only supply ships could do it but at 3x rate.

Still amazing and combined with the loot collector job makes things so much nicer. Park a builder near a xenon gate and just rake in the drops while a few fighters cycle through each capital ship and transport the gains back to HQ/Player. Infinitely better than trying to manage fighters with repeat jobs that occasionally get blown up and have to be replaced. Perhaps a tad too good though.

1.08 - Adding [DP] tag to ship's name will Disable Pickup feature for this ship.

e.g. 'Transport Freighter 007' -> 'Transport Freighter 007 [DP]'
Daniel Feb 28, 2024 @ 8:40am
Oh Assailer, thank you very much! I understand it is purely voluntary work, and may even not make sense for yourself gameplay.

Can we also get to do it with a fleet name tag? That would be very handy.

Again, thanks for your work!
Assailer  [author] Feb 28, 2024 @ 8:30am
I will add option to disable the behavior by adding [DP] (disable pickup) to ship's name.
Daniel Feb 28, 2024 @ 8:18am
Thanks, Assailer, I get it, just want to vote for the "50+ requests" on "adding nametags".
For anyone who would find this helpful, there is a Reddit thread discussing the picking up illegal wares problem, in which someone provided several workarounds.
Assailer  [author] Feb 13, 2024 @ 9:52pm
Daniel, please find my answer 4 posts below why i cannot make it individual.
Daniel Feb 13, 2024 @ 5:51pm
Dear @Assailr, I second @meolan's notion about a per-ship toggle for this functionality.
This is because when letting L/XL ships do some work around the map, they would pick up everything around them, including contraband, and cause a (rather large) reputation drop when being inspected.
This makes a per-ship toggle (or even enabled when being player-piloted only) especially handy, or even necessary, if I may say so.
Also, thank you for this QoL mod! It makes a huge difference for players who enjoy piloting L/XL daily.
Assailer  [author] Feb 2, 2024 @ 10:14pm
@Picknick Awesome! Enjoy! :)

I write this comment only onetime, but it is mentioned to all of your mods: THANK YOU!!
I started and took only 1 mod from you. But time after time I took the next too, and the next, and the next ...
Assailer  [author] Dec 28, 2023 @ 11:23pm
I do not want this mod running as default script for a ship, because there are important other orders you want running in parallel.

I do not want player installing a new module to their ships (which would do this feature), because that messes with your save files and if you uninstall the mod, your ship would end up with a missing module -> trouble.

I do not know how to add global menu items which are LUA based. That would allow having a global view where per ship toggle would be possible.

The only option would be is adding nametags to your ships like "[CSLM] ship name", but that would make all other current players change their ship names. So that's also a no, unless i get 50+ requests on this.
meolan Dec 28, 2023 @ 9:11am
This mod is amazing, but it desperately needs some options. Any chance of being able to enable/disable on a per-ship basis?
takoller Sep 2, 2023 @ 5:33am
I use and like the Loot Magnet. I have an idea to make it a better fit with the vibe of the game. It is a transporter right now. Simply add an option to engage the existing magnet instead. Silently I hope.
Xarniia Sep 1, 2023 @ 8:16am
I'm using it with the secet stash mod. But my miners still get attacked in Paranid sectors by police. :(
Skaeger Aug 12, 2023 @ 3:41pm
I am dumb. I was killing too much stuff and it was looting from elsewhere due to the massive range.
Finarfin Aug 12, 2023 @ 12:31pm
Must be your setup. It works for me.

Use the mod Secret Stash?
jonaak Jul 28, 2023 @ 6:14pm
i have a situation. sometimes i will aggro a friendly station, and i assume its because the loot magnet is picking up illegal cargo in the vicinity of the station, therefore causing the hostility. this will happen both in and out of sector. and i know its not turrets taking their sweet liberties, because i just had this happen to my 3 minimal preset capitals i was using to clog a shipyard.
Assailer  [author] Jul 24, 2023 @ 11:34am
Only works on L and XL class ships, and it only collects inventory items (not cargo).
Verniks Jul 24, 2023 @ 11:27am
Does this work on existing saves? I installed the mod but it doesn't seem to work. Do I need to activate it ingame or something?
AngelofDeath69 Apr 16, 2023 @ 12:03pm
great. thanks
