@anisvara Does the children portraits updates when they get older? a children that come into maturity at 15, will have an adult portrait when he's older or is he a child portrait forever
RebirtheternaL Oct 26, 2022 @ 10:18pm
yea i was startin to think that since i was having alotta trouble finding a mod that seemed to directly address adult mortality ... well thanks and well done tweaks, i appreciate you sharing your work..
Anisvara  [author] Oct 25, 2022 @ 5:38pm
@RebirtheternaL - I found np table for adult mortality. Only for child mortality and this table I edited to compensate fertility and to make it historical. I think you have a bad random. One of my friends lost all his children, but the chance that they reach adulthood is about 50% in mod.
RebirtheternaL Oct 25, 2022 @ 9:30am
yea i was looking to lower the chance because either i'm having bad luck in this playthrough or i have a mod that is increasing the chance of that 'random'. not sure which it is. Idk if it's even possible for a mod to mess with that variable.
Anisvara  [author] Oct 25, 2022 @ 5:47am
RebirtheternaL - many thanks! Vanilla (and mod) has realistic settings for this area. Any turn there is a random, and the random increases when the person gets older. But new characters coming into the game are in average younger in mod than in Vanilla (cause I like also to play long with a character. And I personally notices not many deceased at age around 50. I play the settings since release and put them in all my modmaps.
RebirtheternaL Oct 25, 2022 @ 12:36am
Hello thanks for this mod. Question. Would you happen to know what variable to add to make it so that your characters (generals/governors/statesmen/wives/agents) have the potential to live longer? My current setup has alot of generals dying in their 50s and i'm trying to allow the chance for them to live longer. it was me looking for a mod like that, that helped me find yours. I like what your mod does and i'm keeping it but it doesn't seem like it addresses that original desire. However since your mod messes with a table that alot of other mods seem to not mess with i figured i'd ask if u knew.
Anisvara  [author] Apr 12, 2022 @ 3:50am
@jeep4 - many thanks. I am playing the settings since about 3 years. When you play permanent you will see will that it works. One of my friends did another claim. The mod is broken cause all his children died. Usually about 50 % of the children reach age of adulthood. He had only very bad luck. Such rare results are also possible when hundreds use the mod. By the way, if you want to play Vanilla you should add:

Anisvara - I had just one mod on, yours. I'll give it another chance, and let you know...
Anisvara  [author] Apr 11, 2022 @ 6:53pm
@jeep4 - it is a statistical matter, the random chance to get a baby is any turn you play again low, but much higher than in Vanilla. It is normal, that some characters have no children, others have 2, 5 or maybe 12. Compared with Roulette, you set on number 1 and 2 40 times and you do not win. :steamsad: This would not mean that the statistical prognosis before you start is wrong or Roulette is broken.
jeep4 Apr 11, 2022 @ 3:12pm
This one doesn't work for me... 10 years, not one birth, it's the opposite of what it sells you...

i love history & realism, thanks for this mod :)
Anisvara  [author] Sep 1, 2020 @ 9:43am
@Shatti "SpearMaster" I am playing the mod since release and then I integrated it in the 642 Modmap I worked the last year on. And I played many more campaigns. And the expieriences I made are in the update. So bastards have no disadvantage. The traits are random for all. So I gave them 1000 gravitas limit as in 642. And the age of 12 for possible adulthood is historical realistic too. I researched a lot for 642. :steamhappy:

glad to see this mod alive
Anisvara  [author] Feb 7, 2020 @ 12:29am
@Karmapowerded - you can make the compatible Version for 1212. There are two reasons. 1. I cannot test it, cause I have priority on AD642 my own great mod map with 41 playable factions (The Islamic State included :steamhappy:). 2. I do not want that the 1212 modmakers is angry cause I mod his mod. He helped me to solve a problem. Well I tested this mod with playing 3 campaigns before release. Add me as a friend and then I can give you better advice if necessary.

@Anisvara

Sorry for the slight delay in replying, I had family at home, so my attention was needed.

Thank you for looking into the collision issue, which was a bit foreseeable given the scope of both mods. With some basic guidance, like the one you provided, I guess I can give it a whirl myself during the forthcoming week-end. I've already modded other games before, so it shouldn't be too difficult if tools already exist (*crosses finggers*).

Given the growing popularity of 1212 however, I still think it'd be a boon to also have a compatible version of your mod when possible. This will make it more convenient for your users to adapt to future updates of your mod, and simply to avoid mistakes/bugs because you are the one who knows your mod best. No pressure, just asking, whenever time allows.

Giving you a thumbs up for the concept of the mod and the quality of your support.
Anisvara  [author] Feb 6, 2020 @ 8:16pm
I have to correct me. This mod overwrites the same table as 1212 do. The first placed mod is dominant when collision (overwriting the same data of Vanilla). When scripts in, the overwriting maybe does not work. Then I can only recommend that you change the table directly in 1212. With Packfile Manager (PFM) (gratis) you can look in both mods. Then you compare both tables and make the change in the 1212 table. You have only to overwrite numbers and save it (you can destroy nothing, of course you save the original data before). You also can add settings missing in 1212. At least very easy. Only install PFM and look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Total War Attila\data
Anisvara  [author] Feb 5, 2020 @ 7:24am
@Karmapowered - add me as a friend, then I can try to explain you how you can directly mod the 1212 settings.
Anisvara  [author] Feb 5, 2020 @ 7:02am
@Karmapowered - I think that it does not matter on which position my mod is. 1212 has own settings and I read about some crazy ages (and so your ruler could get a baby without my mod). If you want to use it you should not change the position, cause the mod worked. Well I increased the dying of younger children up to 8 drastically to get the ballance. The problem is the random when the family is small. Sometimes I am waiting endless for the first child. :steamhappy: You got a drastical dying. :steamsad: I think it´s product of random, but 1212 has some scripts, I do not know if they made connection between disease and dying if characters. I got only diseases in forces in the past. Last point: If the mod works but not the garanteed age of adulthood only for the heir or all then maybe there is a script in 1212.
Karmapowered Feb 5, 2020 @ 6:16am
Today I started another 1212 campaign, without your mod loaded (while waiting for your reply), and I definitely noticed that my dynasty got less children. My 57 years old ruler however got some children, which he did not yesterday (they were all his heir's). I'm supposing that your mod doesn't inhibit him from getting children if he has a fertile wife AND if he has a heir, married and in age to have his own children.

Anyway, I'll give your mod another try probably this week end, this time following your advice and loading it towards the bottom. I'd like to thank you again for your assistance and for the mod. I really like the concept, and don't want to give up on it.

@Anisvara Thank you for your speedy reply.

Yesterday I played a quick 1212 campaign with your mod loaded (almost at the top, I think after the "4 turns per year" submod if I recall correctly).

I got a lot of children dieing in my dynasty, which was to be expected, but I didn't think that 70+% of them would do so, almost all in a row, one after the other. Granted Attila is not supposed to imitate CK2, but such a hecatomb might perhaps be a wee bit much ^.^ (or there is no point in installing the mod, if the end result is always 0/1 heir like in vanilla). Maybe it was the disease that happened in my capital that decimated them?

Another thing I noticed is that my heir only became of age at 18 (time at which he could be trained by my ruler), not 16 or 13. I thought at the time that this, and the above, could be bugs originating from an incompatibility or incorrect load order.

Anisvara  [author] Feb 5, 2020 @ 12:11am
@Karmapowered - I think the Mod should work with 1212, cause 1221 is 100% Attila with many changes and new scripts. Try it, you can destroy nothing. I would set the mod at the end. The mods which have to be toploaded are changing (overwriting some parts of) the startposition. My mod overwrites only one table. It is save game compatible.

I do not play 1212 and I didn´t load it, cause I have priority at an own AD 642 Map which is nearly ready for the Alpha Release. My Steam Friends are able to play and test the map.

Hello,

I'm interested in trying your mod out with the Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD mod, and I had a couple of questions.

1/ Are they compatibile to start with ? If not, could I please ask you to provide a compatible version of your mod ?

2/ Which load order do you recommend ? MK1212 is very touchy about LO, and the official mod manager doesn't seem to put them in the correct order for me. Some other (sub)mods need to load at the top, or at the bottom, to work. Your advice would be welcome.

Thank you for sharing your mod with us.

looking good, I might try it!
Anisvara  [author] Oct 26, 2019 @ 4:43am
@Giblets of Fury - the mod renews only one (or maybe 2 - I am playing a little different test version) tables. If the mod is not in your data (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Total War Attila\data) you can insert it there and change the settings (the original mod keeps untouched). The game draws the data primary from this data folder. So you can test all changes for this and other mods from the game data folder.
Giblets of Fury Oct 26, 2019 @ 3:26am
@Anisvara as in order for the mod effects to work, it would not need a new campaign to be started, but for all intents and purposes, savegame compatible is also the same, right? I also use PFM to change some values to my liking so that's the reason I asked as well
Anisvara  [author] Oct 24, 2019 @ 10:57am
Sorry I don´t know what mid-game compatible should be. It is safe game compatible. You can enable and disable the mod whenever you want!
Giblets of Fury Oct 24, 2019 @ 10:43am
Is it mid-game compatible?

Anisvara  [author] Jun 19, 2019 @ 9:36pm
For the Bastard Haters I made a Mod with: The same Settings but Reduced Bastard Chances @Thorvald Blue-Balls - the chances of having a baby are the same for anybody. Only the unmarried male adults are the problem.:steamhappy:
Kasgigz Jun 19, 2019 @ 12:49pm
Bastards are a pain in the ass and will cause a giant mess in family tree because they pop like rabbits. Historically, many bastards were killed on birth or they lived a peasant or urchin life. In which world do a royal family take every bastards in ?

You wanted a reason, you got it now
