Is this compatible with Nova Roma?
LePaow De Cubbes Aug 5, 2025 @ 2:56am
Greetings, there is maybe a little Problem with femal politicians: if they arent a general of troops you cant get them to higher ranks bc you can only get them to higher level (stars) by letting them fight as general. So if i dont let them fight, the couldnt even get a higher rank as 1 :( Is there a way to adjust this option? thx

How could I mod this for Attila and AOC? What value guides female general being allowed and spawning?

Doesn't appear to be currently compatible with AAA generals - for some reason it removes the mens arms for me? I love this mod though I just wish I could not have it conflict :(

And how do I get the skills?
TiredNeedSleep  [author] Aug 22, 2023 @ 3:37pm
I'll get right on the update for this. It's late now, but I'll do it tomorrow.
Jobenheim Aug 21, 2023 @ 12:26pm
Please update to the game's latest version.
armbarchris May 2, 2022 @ 5:36pm
Update: so I moved the mod to the very top in the load order, and that seemed to fix it.
armbarchris May 2, 2022 @ 4:08pm
My female generals can't acquire new skills. Weirdly I played with mod a year (?) ago and don't remember having this problem.
Luke_Lykos'91 Mar 29, 2022 @ 2:45am
I tried this with DEI and it works well.
Still, the female generals does not have the starting personality trait as the males do.
titan Mar 24, 2022 @ 8:29am
The female generals can't seem to get skill progression.:steamfacepalm:

Idk if the author is still active but, this mod doesn't work for the new DLCs, Empire Divided, Rise of the Repulic. Both have female politicians show up in the recruitment pool, but you can't choose a bodyguard unit and by extension, can't recruit them. All other DLCs have no problems.
Grantantan Jan 19, 2022 @ 3:40am
it worked fine on my save games
letsgetscotch Nov 20, 2021 @ 7:11pm
is this save game compatible?
TiredNeedSleep  [author] Jul 19, 2021 @ 10:22am
@Baldilocks I don't think so. I don't use DEI, so I cannot tell you for sure. If it does work, feel free to share!
El Chapo Jul 18, 2021 @ 5:35pm
compatible with DEI?
TiredNeedSleep  [author] Jul 9, 2021 @ 7:04pm
The Family Duty trait still exists, as does it's warning text, but you can ignore that text - women are usable as generals and leaders. It all works as intended my end.
I am not using any mods other than 12 months a year.
TiredNeedSleep  [author] Jun 24, 2021 @ 1:19am
I've had a look at this mod in my own load order (I don't use any other mods really) and all appears to be working fine on my end. Will do a bit more testing.
ooMisfit Jun 10, 2021 @ 9:40pm
For those unable to assign skills, you might have to play with the load order for the skills to work properly, for example I have Hellbent's TTT mod, and the Radious 4 Part overhaul. I loaded Hellbent's TTT mod first (top of the list), then Female Generals second, and then Radious Overhaul after that, along with the rest of the mods.

My guess it that TTT is overwriting this mod or any overhaul, but I found that loading TTT first (if you have it), then this mod immediately after usually fixes the skill problem. Hope this helps

Bear with me though, it's been a while!
TiredNeedSleep  [author] May 17, 2021 @ 11:03am
Hi all, sorry for the delay.

I will take a look at this over the coming days & see if I can get this updated.
General Panzerboy May 17, 2021 @ 8:34am
@Adam please could you look into that problem where no skills can be assigned?
xxafromagicsxx Mar 29, 2021 @ 1:07pm
Is this mod meant to keep the family duty trait? The female generals can't seem to get skill progression.
S'all Good Man Mar 25, 2021 @ 11:24pm

Radness Dec 2, 2020 @ 9:07pm
save game compatible?
Vad Nov 1, 2020 @ 8:01am
It works for me. I just disband armies led by male characters, and then have their wives take charge.
erickairton97 Oct 15, 2020 @ 1:07am
Help, the mod is not working for me. I don't know what to do to make it work. Any advice?

I really want to have female generals with the Greeks, Romans and the others who normally don't have them :(
AresOfThrace Sep 18, 2020 @ 12:57am
Thanks a lot for this mod, the female generals in this game look soo damn sweet, it's a shame that you have such limited access to them.
Kerovanka Sep 15, 2020 @ 9:39am
big big senks for mod.
rick Aug 28, 2020 @ 2:25pm

TiredNeedSleep  [author] Aug 18, 2020 @ 7:34am
@RedNovember99 - It's the one already uploaded! :-)
Tonelico Aug 18, 2020 @ 7:07am
@Adam well then share it to us! :peace_hoi::winter2019neutralgingerbread:
TiredNeedSleep  [author] Aug 13, 2020 @ 2:50pm
Hey Guys - I've caught the TW bug again.

So I've just tested this & I am able to upgrade female generals abilities when they level up - the Family Duty trait is present but it doesn't disable anything for female generals. For me at least.
Takeo Masaki Feb 14, 2020 @ 12:43pm
Hey Adam I love this mod and I use it pretty much in all my games, but I have a question. There is a mod by Cyrus The Great (FSOB) that makes the grand campaign into Alexander the Great's campaign. A specific version allows you to play as Persia, in which Darius III only has 2 daughters and no male heir. I had hoped that this mod would allow me to name one of the daughter's heir (because it does with everything else), but it doesn't. Would it be possible to modify the mod to affect other mods like the Alexander the Great Campaign Persian Edition? Or would I have to ask that mod designer to do it on his end? Thank you for your time.
HAVYXttv Dec 9, 2019 @ 2:17pm
The mod is excellent. However, the female generals CANNOT upgrade skills as the "Family Duty"
prevents them from upgrading skill trees. Please fix it

I love this mod .NOW I can control my lady to go for Roma ,Instead of stay at home. THX.:steamhappy:
DeadSpace47 Aug 14, 2019 @ 2:43pm
Love this mod. l can have the husband and the wife tag teaming together to the end
TiredNeedSleep  [author] Jul 23, 2019 @ 3:47pm
Omnominus is right.

The trait exists still, & it does state that the character cannot become a general, but while the text states that, the character CAN become a general & can also gain skills. It works on my end.
omnominus Jul 23, 2019 @ 2:38pm
@smoothjazzwinetasting I'm pretty sure "family duty" only applies to hellenic factions, and yes it is a trait for every female in your tree. Can't say for sure about adoptions but i don't recall ever being able to hire any female commanders whatsoever as a hellenic faction before this mod. I'm pretty sure with this mod you get to keep the beneficial traits from "family duty" while still being able to use them as generals/admirals. I believe the trait icon still appears and still says "cant command" on it, but you can indeed give them command.
dingo Jul 20, 2019 @ 8:59am
I just came back to Rome II after awhile. Does every female that you get in your family tree have family duty? I'm playing as Syracuse.
bewitching515 Jul 7, 2019 @ 7:00pm
@Cox You can do what Hyper said or give them all specific traits. Like Fertile, this means every female of that Culture has that specific trait. But i've had no problems with it so far. (Of course does not work with females already in the family tree, as far as i can tell you cannot get them to work correctly. Just marry them, kill them and adopt there husbands back into your family tree and have them get married).
Hyperfyre Jun 26, 2019 @ 8:26pm
@Cox:I managed to do that a while ago, can't remember how though. But I think I deleted all instances of family duty from one of the tables.
Dr_Coxian Jun 6, 2019 @ 10:58am
Yo! Have you found a way to get the female generals for the civilized factions to have proper ranks? I've been struggling finding what allows them to do so and couldn't figure it out looking over your file.
