I've found an interaction that's very buggy: with Better Canada and Real Building Upgrades (and no other mods) Canada's tiles get way too high of yields in Tundra. I'm not sure why Real Building Upgrades affects yields on Turn 1, but for some reason it does.
Hi drw543, do you have Gathering Storm installed and enabled? This mod requires GS because it modifies the nation of Canada that was added in that expansion.
So many mods are overpowered, I appreciate the restraint on this one. I don't know how many of the comments below reflect changes that aren't in the original description, but TBH for anything but seeking achievements, National Parks might as well not exist. I think I built one once to get the boost, but found that the boost was not worth the fuss and the 1000 faith.
Sam Steel in Canadian history.. Probably a ton of good ideas there for more Canadian leaders. He was involved in the Mounties + Yukon gold rush + the Metis war + policing and patrolling etc..
Canada has forts built all over the place!!! Like every city has one they use as culture centers or museums now, they were used by settlers and the Mounties back in the day. Yet no settler/fort things in game for Canada?
Also the fur trade and lakes and logging and fishing were/are HUGE factors in Canadian history.. So why is there no Hudson Bay Company in Civ 6?
For a long time Canada wasn't even really a country, it was just a bunch of business's, employees, settlers, mounties doing MASSIVE amounts of trade with the rest of the world. And it has been multicultural from the very beginning.
And what about Canadian Pacific railway?! serious nothing about building the rail way in the game..?
No maple farms either? or ice fishing?
While Canada is still not as powerful as Russia, it's better than it was. Also, Canada's power is highly dependent on the board. Most of Canada's bonuses will not help at all if it lands in a place that is made up mostly of non-cold territory (its Mounties will still be able to make national parks, and that's the only bonus they would have).
We're still play-testing it to see how the AIs play as Canada. In human hands, it plays like a solid mid-tier civ if it gets the right terrain.
