I'm going to guess no as Vanilla Expanded mods are typically very dense. Just guessing though.

when using them, a jobdrive error appears in the console and nothing happens, but you can click on the application, the book does not disappear, the line is not given.

What happens when you use a book? Does it fail to convert them or does nothing happen at all or can you not click on them? Just be a little more detailed in your description if you please.

The rate of conversion through a polemic is based on the pawn's intellectual stat. The chance goes down as polemics decline in quality and up as the target's intellectual stat decreases. The chances are rather slim for a high intellect pawn. It can be next to impossible for an extremely high intellect pawn.

How does the chance of being convinced by a polemic work? It's very frustrated when you see "the excellent polemic was uncompelling" 4 times in a row, and "the masterwork polemic was uncompelling" 2 times

I like the idea of this mod, but it doesn't add enough content to make up for the frustration it causes.

Have you considered adding a Compatibility Patch with the Rim Writing Mod? Making academic papers on that would save a lot of problems wiht the duplicity that the Political Desk brings.
I would also love to see this converted into the actual content of the "Ideology" Expansion Pack!

That's sort of a subjective answer. It retains its functionality through Ideology, but it is less sensical unless you make your planet ideology similar. For example, if you wanted to keep this mod, and create a Buddhist colony. You could create a Buddhist ideology in Ideology and then ensure your colonists have the Buddhist trait. In that way, it would sort of layer functionality with Ideology. In general though, ideology largely makes the mod redundant. The main functionality, friction between ideologies, is already integrated into the game. If you have Ideology, I'd say you don't need this mod any longer, though there is no true technical reason why.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Having a DLC make your mod obsolete is one of the highest compliments a mod author can receive just below having the mod itself directly implemented into the game. I'm thrilled with the Ideology DLC and happy with what this mod provided prior to its release. I spent about 1000 hours of playtime with it; I'm content with retiring it. Anyway, thanks again.

This will happen if you're using any mod that adds pawns without a faction. PP is vanilla-stable but it isn't compatible with every other mod out there unfortunately.

If you'd like to upload it yourself you have my permission. I'd rather not upload it personally because then the upkeep for the mod falls on myself and I'd rather keep it with the author. Especially as I don't have a lot of time or attention to devote to modding at the moment.

Such a stupid mistake. The folder was supposed to be 1.2/assemblies/... and I accidentally uploaded it as 1.2/... without the assemblies folder. It's working as intended now.

I can get this mod to run by itself, but it's incompatible with Harmony. With just it and Harmony, the log is nothing but red, and mod list is reset. I haven't tried playing a game with it, so I can't speak to its actual performance. HOWEVER, oddly enough I can get the expanded version, Planetside Politics with Religions (linked in the mod description), to work with both Harmony and a full modlist.

Author, it would seem you forgot to make a change to this mod that you made to your other mod.

Looking through the error log, there appears to be ~120 separate errors, with about 75% "Could not load UnityEngine.Texture2D" and 25% "Could not execute post-long-event action" with a couple other lines thrown in there. All the things that are throwing the Texture errors appear to be Royalty items.

I wish I could help you, that is very strange. I have an old laptop and my working PC that I test mods on so I usually have a working copy and a clean install to test with therefore I usually know what to expect when someone downloads the mod. Of course everyone has a different setup so I can't cover all the bases but that's definitely a weird one.

Ok I'm officially stumped on what's causing this.

Nexus Version, then 2 Versions from Github - Planetside Politics 1.2.29.zip are giving me the same error. That a Mod File is Corrupt, this is starting to look like a localised issue on my end, I apologise for bothering you with it.

Looks like I'll have to stick with the version that has Religion for now as I can't seem to figure out why this is the only mod that corrupts on download no matter where I get the files from.

You are a beautiful individual. I'll try these files now, I just subbed to the version of this mod with religion and that one boots perfectly fine. I'll try a local version from the Nexus and let you know what happens. My area is the UK in case anyone else has a similar issue (trying to figure out if it's localised database issue or not).

Can you upload the files else where? Maybe something like Nexus so I can attempt to download them manually. I have feeling the mod files themselves may have corrupted server-side in Steams Database. Granted I've not heard of this happening before, but I can't rule it out as some people seem to be having zero issues at all. A manual download without Steam seems the only other way.

Was getting constant crashes when activating this mod in my load order. Read the Comments to see if anyone else was having the same issue, seen the message from Author stating to try the game with the mod as the only thing in the list, tried it on it's own, with Harmony, then with Harmony and Hugslib. Soon as the game loads I get a notification box on the screen stating that a mod failed to load due to being corrupt. I've unsubbed, resubbed, manually deleted the files and verified the game files. It's only happening with this mod regardless of Load Order or other mods in the list. Any advice?

This came up recently on the Planetside Politics and Religions page as well. This mod makes faction and tech level checks of pawns, unless they're a space refugee. If another mod adds pawns, if they are considered valid for space pod or wanderer joining type events, and those pawns lack faction or tech level data then this mod will throw an error.

This is completely broken for me atm. Just red errors at start up that runs out when I add it.
