Quick bug i noticed, statues of pawns from odyssey have a chance to get random hair colors with gradients every time you load a save
FlyIN_11 Sep 29 @ 12:33am
Sadness, Milira's hair is not the original hair, so this mod cannot be used on them.:sheep_cry:

I don't know if this was intentional or not. I'm doing an Anomaly playthrough. One of my pawn, a little impid with long gradient orange to red hair is studying the corrupt obelisk and got cloned. Of course, the clones lack all the gear, clothing and bionics of the original... but ALSO, they had single colored orange hair. I was like OMG, of course, the red would be hair dye... and she wouldn't have that!

If it is intentional, you are amazing. If it's not, then never "fix" it, because it's awesome. Thank you for an amazing mod!
Tigerblut Sep 12 @ 7:52pm
You WON'T because he will NOT update that mod.Got it?
Legend Gamer Sep 10 @ 8:44pm
how to use with choose carefully?
Alma_S Aug 23 @ 9:36pm
i found a bug. it seems like babies could sometime be born with gradient hair, even though they should be born bald
SanguinarcAQL Aug 18 @ 10:11am
Hey @torsina ! If you are gathering ideas for a fork, I beg you to add a search bar for hair, bear, and tattoo; it's a pain in the ass to search for a specific one when you have a few mods that add stuff ...
BonTenshi Aug 17 @ 4:59pm
@torsina Yeah a gene for whether or not a pawn has gradient hair, But even better make it so gradient hair can only be the colors indicated in the pawns genes instead of the rainbow
torsina Aug 17 @ 12:41pm
@BonTenshi What do you mean by "add a gene for it" ? I'm in the process of forking this mod and adding features that I and other people wanted, as well as reimplementing fixes like @Cosmosteller 's back into the mod.

Do you mean that gradient hair should only be active if a pan has the gene for it ? Or do you mean genes for the colors or ?
Cosmosteller Aug 14 @ 9:00am
I’ve created a patch mod that adds a scroll function to the color palette in the Styling Station’s gradient section.
It also includes a safeguard against the error spam reported in the comments and discussions (this part hasn’t been tested yet).
Many thanks to the original modder, and I hope this small patch will be helpful to many players.

If someone fixes/creates a new mod please add a gene for it and link here!
Tigerblut Aug 3 @ 9:57am
So this dev is absolutely not gonna fix this mod it seems? What a shame I loved it
UltraEmailMan Jul 27 @ 7:07pm
Can confirm. Color selection for the gradient color is cut off. Tested with only this mod and all DLC enabled.
Runzu Jul 26 @ 5:26am
I'm having the same issue as @gh0stashes when it comes to choosing available gradient colors. They are cut-off, even at 1080p full screen resolution. Unless the colonist rolls with one that's off screen, you can't select it yourself.
Hawk Tuah Jul 19 @ 2:41am
This is conflicting with EdB Prepare Carefully:
Gradient Hair tries to patch a method in EdB Prepare Carefully.
It expects a parameter named customPawn, but the actual method uses customizedPawn.
Harmony (the patching library) throws an exception due to this mismatch.
gh0stashes Jul 5 @ 10:14pm
The dye/styling menu for Gradients is broken, only displaying about half the available colours and making it impossible for pawns to dye their hair most colours without Character Editor. https://i.imgur.com/FDw6CeO.png
Aku Jun 27 @ 1:30pm
Kinda wish there was a gene for gradient hair...
moo Jun 26 @ 9:00pm
I wanted to highlight that the 1.6 version has a discussion open for a confirmed error with GH, but you might not have been notified.
gh0stashes Jun 19 @ 7:04pm
Weird bug where pawns with gradient hair have a strange box around them, usually while hauling something. May be an interaction with SimpleCameraSettings? https://i.imgur.com/pS7LjdW.png

not work with EdB Prepare Carefully
Italnerd Dec 2, 2024 @ 11:57pm
Just curious, what do you mean "recently got a great update"? It looks like the last update was 7 months ago which was just to support vanilla skills expanded which it apparently still has issues with. And it's one of the most popular because at one point, yes, nearly everyone used it, but now it's more of a legacy mod that you are free to use if you prefer it, but it's hardly logical to expect the same level of compatibility as newer alternatives.
Kaschey Nov 25, 2024 @ 2:38pm
I'm LOVING this mod. It brings so much variety to people's looks!

Just one little issue with it: not sure if it's a common problem but in my game, the menu of available colors for gradients is partially covered by the lower border of the stylizing window and because of that I don't have access to all of the colors. Is there a way to fix it?
Superfreak Nov 23, 2024 @ 1:47am
Sorry fellas, but prepare carefully is a great mod, I've suffered no problems with and it is one of the most popular mods on the workshop that recently got a great update. AUTOMATIC should just add compatibility to that mod.
NuanKi Sep 17, 2024 @ 8:30pm
@Duncan instead of using edb use Character Editor, it does the same without breaking the game
אַבְרָהָם Sep 16, 2024 @ 3:50am
@Duncan it's written in slavjank code that hasn't been changed outside of mod compat patches ever since its conception. many modlists and playthroughs eventually suffer from performance and game-breaking issues from it. i speak from experience when even my bare bones modlists with only QoL stuff become slogs to play through whenever Prepare Carefully is present.
Duncan Sep 8, 2024 @ 10:45am
I've been using edb prepare carefully for years with no issues... how does it "break the game in a lot of ways"?
Marcus Aug 10, 2024 @ 8:36pm
Possibility to remove gradient using styling bench?
NuanKi Jul 23, 2024 @ 8:14pm
@DevolutionEX NEVER use edb prepare carefully, it breaks the game in a lot of ways, you could use character editor, prepare moderately or randomplus
🔰 Jul 2, 2024 @ 6:11pm
nevermind, there is just no scrollbar on the gradient window so the bottom colors etc are cut off and thats why i couldnt see the message at the bottom that i needed dye to do it. after buying dye from a trader it works now.
🔰 Jul 1, 2024 @ 6:17pm
i am unsure why but when i build a styling station and want to change the hair gradient it just doesnt work. i can change the hairstyle but neither color nor gradient do anything despite showing up in the menu. i added the dresser / mirror mod and i can change the gradients haircolor there but there is no way to add or remove a gradient (removing is not much of an issue as you can select twice the same color though)
DevolutionEX Jun 25, 2024 @ 9:24pm
throws an error if i have EdB Prepare Carefully installed.
Dani May 29, 2024 @ 4:33am
@AUTOMATIC it doesn't work when I have EdB Prepare Carefully it doesn't work.
Frankenfurt Sr. May 16, 2024 @ 11:43pm
Is this mod compatible with Pawn Editor? I had to delete CE because it was causing too many bugs :/
Xenogray May 8, 2024 @ 1:32pm
Same issue for babies and random gradient hairs.
Lil Kitty Girl Apr 26, 2024 @ 3:09am
Someone made a fix, but the change has yet to been pushed to the repo. Hopefully the author can look over the changes at some point and upload the fix ^^
Arin Apr 21, 2024 @ 12:35pm
I also have the invisibility issue, relating to bald pawns. I don't think its the baldness itself that is causing the issue, because I've seen bald pawns spawn in game just fine, several yttakin for example and a genie or two. I think the issue is it's when they spawn in with a gradient applied to them while also bald. Maybe!
Madjesty Apr 20, 2024 @ 3:11pm
I have had the same issue with bald pawns, De Parapluman's fix works great for it.

The same thing has also happened to me with babies. I had a baby born with gradient hair, and BAM, everyone in the hospital disappeared, including the baby. I used character editor to remove the gradient hair on the baby, and everything came back.
CatnipBanana Apr 18, 2024 @ 3:13am
Also had the issue of pawns turning invisible, seemingly triggered by a caravan spawning in. Have removed the mod and so far it's fixed it
shelevenspace Apr 17, 2024 @ 11:58pm
Confirmed on the invisible issue
gh0stashes Apr 17, 2024 @ 8:53pm
When a bald pawn spawns, all pawns become invisible. This means any time an Yttakin, Genie, or any other bald xenotype enters the map, every pawn becomes invisible due to rendering errors. Had to remove.
Lisan al-Nyata Apr 17, 2024 @ 6:48am
New bug detected for 1.5 Anomaly. My pawn become invisible when bald pawn / shambler skeleton :steamsad:spawn.
De Parapluman Apr 17, 2024 @ 3:21am
I sort of found the issue invisible bald pawn issue and created a fix for my own playtrough. Use at your own risk. :) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3224868125
De Parapluman Apr 17, 2024 @ 2:15am
There seems to be an issue with some bald pawns that were generated with a gradient. It causes all pawns that are being rendered invisible.
Renix Apr 17, 2024 @ 12:16am
bald babies, and corpses seem to sometimes also cause this and go invisable, I havent removed gradient hair yet to see if my problems subside.
Vaarelsauce Apr 16, 2024 @ 11:21pm
Game-breaking for 1.5. Makes pawns invisible after a certain time, and then....breaks the whole game. Had to uninstall it mid-save :(
Velvet Apr 16, 2024 @ 1:44pm
Haven't had any issue with bald pawns, at least so far. Not even when spawning in an yttakin to test.

Either something I have inexplicably fixes the bug, or something I don't have is the actual cause of it and its just a conflict with this mod rather than it being the sole culprit.
Blazerik Apr 14, 2024 @ 8:43pm
I actually spotted the red errors in this mod while in character creation. just reroll a character enough time and you eventually hit a bad one that pops an error. so i didn't include it in my playthrough
