Yes
BlueShadow125 Nov 26, 2024 @ 9:06am
is this mod still required for FU+shellguard?
goodra_hugs Jun 14, 2022 @ 12:14pm
@sayter could you make a Armour patch for shell guard so the Armour behaves like other Armour so it has some immunity to other stuff like radiation resistance or damage resistance
Melodic Oak Apr 1, 2022 @ 1:34pm
Thanks Sayter! Looking forward to trying your mods!
Sayter  [author] Apr 1, 2022 @ 4:17am
This patch will always be necessary because Shellguard loads after FU, which is why we need the patch! Now you know :)
Melodic Oak Apr 1, 2022 @ 3:32am
Hiya! Sorry to bother, but does anyone know if this mod is still necessary? Or has the base Frackin Universe core mod updated to already include this patch? Many thanks!
Sayter  [author] May 6, 2021 @ 7:54am
I simply tuned the damage properly, as I had not taken the splinter-shots that launch from the primary projectile into account on the initial pass. That's it. It can no longer kill a boss in milliseconds but still feels badass.

I was aiming less for freak out and more for needing verification, information of the changes, there was a lack of change notes when I made the comment, only the line about balancing the rotary cannon, in most patch notes when a single gun is named aside from the rest, its usually either nerfed or buffed in a notable way
Sayter  [author] May 6, 2021 @ 5:14am
Rather than freak out about it, try it and see , first. The change was to un-break the rotary cannon balance and make the artillery worth using via increasing its per-shot damage.

Resistances are easy enough to apply. Ultraheavy body had resistances applied wrongg. This is now fixed. (thanks).

As for weapon damage: all mech weapons are tested on t6 targets so they don't go to absurd values but have a fair damage ratio for their intended power level. They seem fine on this end, and dont outdamage or underdamage similar tiers of FU weapons. They do, however, all seem to do Physical damage, which is often resisted by space enemies.
Vokun Vulon May 6, 2021 @ 2:11am
Balanced the Rotary Cannon how? I'm concerned that you named this weapon alone, in all honestly, everything else needed to come up, not this to go down, all of their stuff is weak as all hell, between underpowered weapons and a lack of any enviromental resistances, such as pressure/heat/ect, actually makes these the most useless mechs available in FU, their parts are only good up until the very first mech you can get that has resistances (most of players should already have this before reaching shellguard) and all their guns are basically out-matched by mid-game at least, bar the Rotary cannon, which you apparently "balanced"
Sayter  [author] May 5, 2021 @ 7:08pm
so it does. How did nobody notice! Thanks.
goodra_hugs May 5, 2021 @ 1:57pm
it say shelfuard in the title
Vokun Vulon Apr 27, 2021 @ 7:02am
Question, do these mech parts have resistances? Pressure/Heat/Cold ect ect?
Fox Nov 11, 2020 @ 8:36am
im having a problem with the mech legs
OliRO Oct 1, 2020 @ 10:30am
It must be because you're hard working.
Man the content you come up with is out of this world! Get it?
Sayter  [author] Sep 30, 2020 @ 3:35pm
lawl. How did I not notice that? Thanks.
OliRO Sep 30, 2020 @ 3:28pm
Hey Sayter, I just want to let you know that there is a typo in the title. It should say ''Compatibility''.

I'm a huge fan of your work, thanks! : )
Corbent Sep 17, 2020 @ 3:33pm
Great, I'll install it then and know what to expect. Thanks.
Sayter  [author] Sep 17, 2020 @ 3:14pm
This is for the Remastered.

However, there -is- a need for a compatability patch (and we'll need to add to it to encompass the newly added parts included in SG).

Our mech system is not the standard mech system, which means we need to adapt each mech part to our mech system for it to work properly.

The remaster does not deal with this issue, as it isn't something they need to worry about.
Corbent Sep 17, 2020 @ 2:21pm
I'll ask a question that has already been asked here to see if I can get a straight "yes" or "no" instead of Sayter's douchebaggery. There are two versions of the Shellguard expansion, the old one, and the remastered one. Does this patch work with the remastered version?

The reason for asking this question is because the remastered version states, and I quote "This mod should be completely compatible with any other mod out there. (With exception of the original mod.) This includes Frackin Universe, which it is *fully compatible* with."

Now I don't know about you, but by "full compatibility" I understand that there is no need for a compatibility patch, which according to this mod's title, that is what this is. If this patch was made for the original version, it is very likely that the remastered version already dealt with the issue this patch is supposed to address and therefore claim "full compatibility".
Sayter  [author] Sep 3, 2020 @ 2:50pm
Indeed it does. I just haven't had time to do so yet.
NandoGIP Sep 3, 2020 @ 9:38am
Does this require an update to the new Shellguard update? Seems new mech parts have been added
Sayter  [author] Jun 30, 2020 @ 3:01pm
could be, could also be that things were added after , changed, etc. I can peek later.
Penta Jun 30, 2020 @ 2:37pm
Maybe it's on purpose, but the arm file seems to be missing "sgmechrailgun". Also the "sgmechheavyminigun" and "sgmechgiantlaser" entries seem to contain errors (as in, they seem to patch different entries than they should be patching).

But maybe I'm just misinterpreting the files. I only just started modding.
TheDestroyer May 10, 2020 @ 11:26am
Thanks again for your excellent work, Sayter. Cheers!
Red Wizard Mar 15, 2020 @ 5:31pm
It's actually pretty easy to miss since steam doesn't realy funnel people to your other mods. I also didn't notice it, but randomly came across it in the store.
Sayter  [author] Mar 5, 2020 @ 5:03pm
It should pretty much be implied that I recommend all my own mods.
Mark Mar 5, 2020 @ 5:02pm
this should be added to the recommended mod list you have
Sayter  [author] Mar 2, 2020 @ 8:31pm
Read the mod description. It says exactly what it does.
NaughtApplicable Mar 2, 2020 @ 8:02pm
is this compatable to shellguard entirley or only the mech parts
Sayter  [author] Feb 14, 2020 @ 9:43am
unless shellguard has added tons of new mech parts, nothing needs to change.
Nilserrich Feb 14, 2020 @ 9:31am
It's been quite a while since the last update and Shellguard had a few updates. Is this mod still up to date?
Sayter  [author] Jan 28, 2020 @ 3:40pm
should be okay
Vantezzle Jan 28, 2020 @ 3:37pm
But I can switch without breaking my save?
Sayter  [author] Jan 28, 2020 @ 2:37pm
up to you. this one is only a few commits behind, and tomorrow i'll likely update it to be on-par with github.
Vantezzle Jan 28, 2020 @ 2:20pm
Right! Thanks. And do you have any advice what to do with my github version of FU now that it's on Steam again?
Sayter  [author] Jan 28, 2020 @ 1:58pm
yes. This would be fine, as it basically just bridges the FU and Shellguard mech parts together so the Shellguard stuff works for FU.
Vantezzle Jan 28, 2020 @ 12:48pm
Can you add this to an existing character/save?I don't actually know how does Starbound like adding various mods mid save.
PizzaFriday Jan 26, 2020 @ 11:12am
Yikes i unsubbed to the main one to start a new character in the normal quest and now its gone.
Sayter  [author] Jan 26, 2020 @ 5:36am
neither. It's almost 14 days now. Just be patient.
Fluffy_Don_Juan Jan 25, 2020 @ 5:09pm
8 days have passed, wait by January 31 or February 1?
Sayter  [author] Jan 19, 2020 @ 7:42am
temporarily taken down due to automated nonsense. will be back in around 11 days.
LiveLaughToasterBath Jan 19, 2020 @ 7:34am
Where is the MAIN FU download on steam is gone?
L. Yoichi Dec 19, 2019 @ 5:15am
Ty :)
Sayter  [author] Dec 19, 2019 @ 4:31am
you are using a broken unofficial translation mod. The "Traducao BR" one is your issue. In the future report on the proper mod page with a proper log.
L. Yoichi Dec 18, 2019 @ 7:59pm
https://pastebin.com/gpcEnzHA If you have time to look, your Frackin Universe mode core is broken when using other mods.
Space Oct 3, 2019 @ 6:01am
Alrighty, thank you !
Sayter  [author] Oct 3, 2019 @ 5:52am
thats the only version you should be using, since the old one is outdated.
Space Oct 3, 2019 @ 5:40am
@Sayter is this meant for the REMASTERED version of Shellguard?
Sayter  [author] Jun 21, 2019 @ 8:48pm
if you use a mod loader, its *probably* okay so long as FU loads after. worth a try.you can easily tell: if mass is not displayed on the parts, its wrong :)
