The manual download link/site is no longer available (RIP zippyshare) . Can you provide a replacement?

Hi, great mod, but could you make an diplomatic option so you can ask/threaten an independent ruler to become your tributary? (so you don't have to declare war on them?)
falhxer Mar 3, 2022 @ 5:56am
How do i break free as an autonomous state? The kingdom that was supposed to protect me just collapsed...
Gospeller Aug 17, 2021 @ 9:22pm
Might it perhaps be possible for you to produce for this mod a set of pre-game settings. For example allowing or disallowing the AI from utilizing this feature. Frankly speaking, I would very much enjoy something as such.
Consort Jul 27, 2021 @ 4:54pm
Honestly paradox should have just made this for the holy roman empire wish this was base game.
Gaylad Jul 5, 2021 @ 12:11pm
Can this be removed mid-game without problems?

Hi guys,
Sorry, been awol for a long while, mostly because of work and major changes in life. I also just got my PC rebuilt, so I'll reinstall CK2 tomorrow and answer your questions as to why x is not working or some such.
Thanks again for your patience. I apologize about the delay.

Hi, Im playing France and became a dependent state of the holy roman empire, now im strong enough to challenge the HRE, but I found theres no CB for me to use to declare an independence war, what are the requirements to obtain a CB? Great mod btw
Inquisitor Jan 5, 2021 @ 10:55am
The problem of allowing AI to use this function is that they tend to mess with their kingdoms. This is better used in border counties or duchies but AI will make tributaries without strategy.
TheBigPotato892 Nov 14, 2020 @ 9:57am
i would super appreciative of that because this mod looks really cool and sounds like an awesome mechanic. if its not compatible with just jade dragon i just might have to fiddle with some code and make it compatible
fear  [author] Nov 14, 2020 @ 6:42am
@PotatoLord892 : Jade Dragon adds various conquest casus bellis based on tributaries. It's been a while since I worked on this mod so I *think* that's all that it does, but I can double check sometime this week and get back to you.
I originally made it just for Horse Lords for what it's worth.
TheBigPotato892 Nov 12, 2020 @ 10:50am
do you need horse lords and jade dragon or would you be fine with just one of them as they both enable tributaries?
fear  [author] Sep 1, 2020 @ 4:10pm
@That One Guy Sadly not. This is intricately how CK2 works.
Sullivas Aug 27, 2020 @ 4:53pm
@That One Guy That is a bit of a problem with CK2 and the way tributaries work
That One Guy Aug 27, 2020 @ 4:24pm
Is there any way to alter the mod so that I still have the dependant state, but that it doesn't make the country name stretch across your dependencies ?
weyiofef160 Aug 13, 2020 @ 7:30am
This is an exceptionally intuitive and thoughtful mod.
fear  [author] Apr 8, 2020 @ 6:50pm
@lmfao: You can use the Force Autonomous CB but that's a bit wonky right now. I haven't had time to integrate the localizations and such but in theory it should still work.
lmfao Apr 6, 2020 @ 1:24pm
Does this mean I can finally stop having to use the make tributary CB to get all of Britain to pay tribute without having to micromanage after vassalizing it? Thank God, that felt so inaccurate, really didn't do Æthelstan's reign justice.

Also *cough* there doesn't happen to be a "make_tributary" equivalent, is there? *cOuGh*
fear  [author] Jan 19, 2020 @ 4:47pm
@Ser Dinadan Yes, sorry. I was working on it when I was forced to update the mod to 3.3 due to it not showing up after CK2 got updated to the 64 bit version. I forgot to remove that.
Ser Dinadan Jan 15, 2020 @ 8:00pm
Is the Force Autonomous Integration CB a work in progress? It's missing a description and makes the target a vassal instead of a tributary. It's basically working as a lower prestige cost version of the JD Force Vassalization CB.
Sofarluck Dec 30, 2019 @ 11:40am
i always wanted this
KoldieHawn Nov 1, 2019 @ 7:40pm
@fear it worked! Thanks for the speedy fix - love the mod!
geigda Oct 27, 2019 @ 3:44pm
@fear worked perfectly fine for me prior to the fix. Granted I barely used it but it did work. Ill check it again
fear  [author] Oct 27, 2019 @ 1:18pm
@AmaraAvatar: I've uploaded a variant in the description where you can call the tributaries to wars now ;)
fear  [author] Oct 27, 2019 @ 1:07pm
@Ignatic @geigda @Kody can you confirm on your end that this works?
fear  [author] Oct 27, 2019 @ 1:00pm
*UPDATED* Should work with 3.3 now.

What the issue was : the update seems to add two descriptor.mod files in the zip file, which both have a different "mod name" and seemed to conflict. I've removed them and updated the mod name to "Autonomous Dependent States" than "Autonomous Tributary Vassals" in the mod descriptor file.

I've launched it several times and it works with 3.3
fear  [author] Oct 27, 2019 @ 12:19pm
Okay I figured out what the issue is. The mod doesn't work when downloaded from steam workshop in a zip format, but works when you extract it and change the .mod file path to "mod/tributary_vassals"

I'll upload the mod to a file sharing service as a temporary workaround and share the link here while I work on what 3.3 broke.
jglennv1 Oct 27, 2019 @ 10:54am
Nope it's broke now
geigda Oct 25, 2019 @ 7:51pm
I think the reason 3.3 broke it might be because it changes the ck2 framework from 32bit to 64bit
KoldieHawn Oct 23, 2019 @ 4:58pm
@fear tried launching a new game - no Release as Dependent State option showed up...
fear  [author] Oct 22, 2019 @ 9:56pm
@Kody: can you start a new game in 3.3 and check if this still works? Perhaps it's just the save games which are broken, because it seems to be working here.
fear  [author] Oct 22, 2019 @ 9:38pm
I'll take a look tomorrow.
KoldieHawn Oct 22, 2019 @ 6:18pm
Yeah mine suddenly stopped working after 3.3 - no other changes...All my states are completely independent.
fear  [author] Oct 22, 2019 @ 2:09pm
Yes, I don't see why it wouldn't work given 3.3 is a minor update.
INGAULD Oct 22, 2019 @ 1:09pm
Is it working for the 3.3?
Sullivas Oct 11, 2019 @ 6:42pm
Yeah but for something like HRE it is super ridiculous
Hariti Khatri Oct 11, 2019 @ 3:12am
"Autonomous Vassals can no longer be called to wars" Aww. The call to war mechanic is so much more fun than boring levies.
fear  [author] Sep 30, 2019 @ 12:02am
@Meatwad : Really? The way I designed it autonomous vassals can't be called to wars, since you already get 25% of their levy anyway.
UNLESS there was a wardec on one of their vassals, in which case, they'll protect.
klirko Sep 29, 2019 @ 3:44pm
Umayyads can call their autonomous vassals into wars, but I can't. Why?
Scottx125 Sep 28, 2019 @ 2:08pm
@fear Nice!
fear  [author] Sep 27, 2019 @ 9:36pm
@Scottx125 : Hm, I must have missed it. You (or I in the bug fix next release) can possibly add an inheritance law for Autonomous states which disallow outside inheritance. I'll tinker around with it this week :)
fear  [author] Sep 27, 2019 @ 9:35pm
@nlinzer @Steppenwolf is partially correct. Jade Dragon is only required if you want to do the "Ask for Autonomous Status" thing, otherwise it's not for both the "Grant Autonomous Status" and "Reintegrate" options. The other two require Horse Lords unfortunately.
Scottx125 Sep 26, 2019 @ 2:05pm
@fear Hey, think I asked something similar before but now I'm trying to mod it myself. Is there a way of changing the inheritance behaviour so that the law that prevents land passing outside of a nation can keep vassal kingdoms within your greater empire self contained? So that other kingdoms within your empire don't end up inheriting the land creating boarder gore within your empire?
nlinzer Sep 25, 2019 @ 7:28pm
ok thanks
Sullivas Sep 25, 2019 @ 5:52pm
It does, for certain tributary mechanics. I have all DLC, and I suggest you play the game religiously before considering getting so many DLC.

And unless we are talking about after the end, dont buy DLCs for mods. Not a good idea.
nlinzer Sep 25, 2019 @ 5:08pm
Does it also need Jade Dragon? Because that has mixed reviews and I'm not sure I want it
Sullivas Sep 25, 2019 @ 1:37pm
Yes, especially horse lords as that is what most of the tributary system lies in.
nlinzer Sep 24, 2019 @ 6:35pm
Do you need the dlc listed?
fear  [author] Sep 22, 2019 @ 8:00pm
The mod is now updated with new additions. Feel free to submit bugs or new suggestions :) Sorry it took months!
fear  [author] Sep 22, 2019 @ 2:56pm
@Meatwad : Wait for the update(should be tonight or tomorrow morning) It takes the choices from what kind of traits the person has along with the current prestige level. I'll make sure people only give their duchies away when there's negative prestige (or low prestige) and they want a prestige+piety boost.

as of right now, only traits affect this (plus chance).
