Can you add Piedmontese-Sardinian Infantry and Grenadiers?

did a few test and Shotgun Infantry seems to be bugged - they rarely shoot enemy and even when they shoot its gonna be a few guys on the edges of the unit

you could add a sort of grenadier unit armed with breach loading rifles but still able to use grenadiers

can you add kneel fire for the shotgun infantry?

Could you do a cavalry counterpart of the shotguns?

"The British officer Arthur Fremantle observed that revolvers and shotguns (especially double barreled models) were the favored weapons of Confederate cavalry and mounted infantry during his 1863 visit to the South."

I don't know if you still are planning on creating the american cav unit or not; but if i'm able to suggest something here: what about a confederate repeating carbine cavalry (that can also dismount) that's either unique to the independent republic government type or to the shogunate? I feel like it's missing some type of confederate unit in the dlc and that the independent republic government was kinda also on the back-end or was given the short stick of things in the unit roster comparatively to the shogun and imperial rosters

Great mod, very pleased with the hand mortars and sappers in particular, they can absolutely ruin the morale of line infantry.
VastGM Sep 3, 2019 @ 3:27am
Hand Mortars... Vast is very pleased.
jornambre Feb 28, 2019 @ 9:18pm
Ok, thanks.

Yes, Shotguns are from the Barracks, Sappers from the Artillery Academy and Hand Mortars from a higher level of the same building.
jornambre Feb 22, 2019 @ 5:30pm
Can you get these units in the campaign and if so, from which buildings?

@literally hitler: Thanks! I will update that for the next version.

@JMO: I am glad you like them! I figured why not have a bit of fun.

@Babyfishmouth: I have no idea? I have been working IRL for the past week, so I haven't had time to test. I will take a look tomorrow.

Is this mod compatible with DarthMod?
JxSlayz666 Feb 5, 2019 @ 7:26am
I love the description text for each unit...

Not sure if you already fixed this or someone else said it, but the description of the Hand Mortars has a typo, IE, "concern" is misspelled "convern". Sorry if you already fixed this, but I just noticed it. I love the idea of the mod, shame I don't currently have the DLC required to use it.

@sirnori I am not much of a graphic designer, but I would like to get into making meshes. Their first version however will be either in Boshin style or with the French Marine helmet that I have re-purposed as a shako :)

@Autistic Nut I like the idea of a sneaky, Kisho Ninja but with a gun! Apparently they were horribly unreliable in real life, so maybe I can replicate that in game.

For the Organ Gun and Fire Rockets, I think I want to stay away from making Artillery, since FoTS already has a fantastic Artillery extension mod. Shoulder mounted fire rockets however, while very ahistorical, will be making an appearance!

Kinda wild ideas but it might lead to inspiration

Some ideas for inspiration:

Adding Fire Rockets into the FOTS campaign
sirnori Jan 29, 2019 @ 9:53pm
Marvellous. Will they have Pickehauben?
PylkijSlon  [author] Jan 29, 2019 @ 8:32pm
@sirnori I could definitely make something like that. I think the Tosa Riflemen are equipped with Dreyse M1862s (their rifle is referred to as breech_loading in the code, the same as the Foreign Veterans). However, something like them but with a shorter range and less emphasis on skirmishing would be an interesting addition. I just did about eight hours of work today between the two mods (trying to add some new abilities without breaking the AI), so it might be a few days before I implement them. Cheers!

@Nut & @sacharias I am glad you like it! More new units are definately coming as soon as I figure out how to make them work :)
sirnori Jan 29, 2019 @ 5:51pm
May I suggest Prussian needle gunners? The emperor did import a large number of M1862 Dreyse rifles (Prussian needle guns) from the Kingdom of Prussia in the late 1860s.
Radscorpion Jan 29, 2019 @ 11:16am
Cant wait for you to add more cool units
Radscorpion Jan 29, 2019 @ 11:16am
AWESOME :D
Sacchus Jan 29, 2019 @ 5:15am
This is really neat
