@Bedmonster gave you credit in the patch notes for this creation :) awsome job. and sent a friend request. Im not as good at formulas as you are so thank you ^^

@Renagon Odd, I let it idle for a minute after cutting it off and it still ran! Might have been the update though.

@Bedmonster Thanks, ill have to take a look. Atm stormworks 0.5.10 is live but there are not patch notes for it. in this update, i cant update anything on the workshop. i noticed people in the discord cant either. I have also noticed that closing the mixture does cut the engine after about 20seconds of idling lol. Didnt realize that the 3 pipes of fuel after the valve can let the plane idle for an extra 20seonds before shutting of lol. I will still check out your microcontroller :)

Hey man,

I got curious about the logic needed to fix this, and I made a microcontroller that fixes both your throttle and your mixture idle cutoff issue.

Its default settings are set for your plane, as I used your creation to make sure it worked properly in the end.
I made sure it would fit in your plane too, there should be room above your exhaust pipe or in the tail, all you gota do is drop it in, hook the throttle+mixture inputs and outputs to the correct places. Again awesome job on the layout of this thing.

@phd45 number 5 key now toggles brakes

Thanks for this precision and also maybe in the futures updates they will add a more realistic flying mechanics. Also thanks if you map the brakes key it will be fun for me if I'can land i without crashing at the end of the runaway.

@phd45 ill take a look at keyed brakes. As far as the flight controls and maneuverability, stormworks flight simulation isnt accurate enough to have it fly with near the same maneuverability as the real cessna or a simulated cessna. for example in flight simulators the coding for the flight models allows you to mimic the maneuvering of a real cessna. this is the best i can do for now without drastically altering the cessna in stormworks. Happy new year :)

@Bedmonster yea so the weird thing is, from what ive tested, with advanced engines and fluid valves. if the engine is running and the valve is closed to "stop" fuel from going to the engine. the engine will continue to run untill its reved very high even if the valve is closed.
Bedmonster Dec 31, 2018 @ 3:25pm
@Renagon Easiest way I can think of doing it, is to set up something that looks at the mixture settings. If more then zero, have it add a minimum to the throttle needed to keep the engine running. If mixture zero, have a fluid valve that closes.

Oh, and I forgot. Happy New Year everyone.

Very good plane but one thing : the controls are just to sensible and the maneuverability is just to high compare to a real cessna. And also can you add a key for the brakes. But except for this this plane is very good.

Variable Fluid Valve*
Renagon  [author] Dec 31, 2018 @ 12:42am
i tested this on the advanced engine preset, put a variable fuel valve on the fuel system and connect it to a throttle lever (thats the setup in the 172 above) pull the lever to 0 after engine start an you may notice the engine idle for a bit untill reved up high for a while.
Renagon  [author] Dec 31, 2018 @ 12:39am
so i have a throttle idler that works but when the mixture is 0 (closing the variable fuel valve) the engine has to be reved up high for it to cut off otherwise it will continute to idle and cant be turned off like u would in a cessna 172 for example. Any Ideas?
Renagon  [author] Dec 30, 2018 @ 11:48pm
sounds good ill take a look into the ideler
Bedmonster Dec 30, 2018 @ 11:46pm
This is actually pretty well made and very cool! Only thing I would say is to add some logic for an idler, so the engine doesn't cut when the throttle is 0.

i did too :) glad you enjoy it

i flyed this plane so happy did not have to make it
