Ik ben een nieuwe versie aan het ontwikkelen die waarschijnlijk ergens deze winter af is.
Ik hoop dat je hem werkend krijgt!
A big challenge is free time and money. Even though most people in the west got a lot of time on their hands with all the consequences of COVID, here in Japan it's life as usual, and I've been busting my ass for work, using my free time to either socialize, relax with a game, or making mods for other games, like my recently made mod for TW: Shogun 2.
Take note that I haven't forgotten about this mod, and some work has already been done, I just can't make any promises or guarantees. But thank you all for your excitement, praise and enthusiasm!
I am thinking of creating the exact same mod (OP as it is) and creating a more balanced one. With the new functions in the game I also have to think about if there's anything I can utilize to make this mod a bit deeper
The mod is actually OP for the Netherlands (actually for every country). I like a mod that has balance, but otherwise the mod is fun.
I have to say it's a good mod. I only have three small pionts of interest.
The first is that you get a research slot too quickly and then quickly have 6 research slots. As the Netherlands that is a lot, I even think too much before the war maybe even during the war.
Second is the focus tree. It is a nice focus tree, but you get most focuses too fast and too many positive effects. For some, you might have to have a date, researched something, or own a province before you can do it. As an example, modernize Fort Holland gives you radars even if you haven't investigated that yet, so make it possible but then you must first have investigated radars.
Right now, most of the errors are ironed out. The focus tree is working again, the decisions are working, the custom map is recognized again, so that's all great. However, currently it's impossible to add naval bases and dockyards through Nudge in the game. Worse still, it claims all naval bases and dockyards aren't valid. (I am guessing the game thinks all the coastal provinces aren't actually coastal provinces.)
For two days I've been trying to figure out what might be causing this without any luck. I am about to go on a holiday to the Netherlands for 10 days, after which I will continue working through the final errors.
dank voor de status over de update ik kan nu al niet wachten tot ik de mod weer kan spelen in deze patch je levert goed werk.
Thanks for your support! :)
Late April I will have 2 weeks off from work, it seems most like that I'll release a fully compatible mod then. It's a bit of a wait I know, but alas, I don't have much free time before that. In the mean time the mod will remain playable for version 1.5.4. :)
but i am just curious how long do we have to wait a week 2 weeks a month?
The update is more than a few bug fixes, it introduces whole new aspects to the game and overhauls others, like naval warfare, as a result almost all of the files of my mod are incompatible.
It will take me a while to figure them out, and I am guessing I will have to build the mod from the ground up to make sure it will work correctly. I am also considering adding in a few more events and decisions, so that would be a good opportunity to do so.
If you want to use this mod, following the steps in my previous comment to play the 1.5.4. version of the game. If you need help in how to make it work, let me know! If you want to use this mod with the current version, I can only ask you to be patient. :)
As somebody with a full time job (in Japan) I lack the time to immediately sort out all the changes and erros, so for now I recommend reverting to version 1.5.4 (Cornflakes.) The mod is still compatible with that version (I just tested it)
Follow these steps to revert:
1. Right click HoI4 in your library.
2. Click properties
3. Click the BETAS tab
4. Select the 1.5.4. Cornflakes version.
After that a 10 MB download will commence. Once downloading has completed, you will now have the good old HoI (1.5.4.) installed and this mod should work as it always has.
Once I get some time off, I will try to figure out all the changes and update the mod accordingly.
I am guessing it's balanced better than mine though
