You should probably look into making all of the objective props debris type ('flags' tab in Hammer). It's pretty easy to break the map by prop-flying with them.

Yeah, basically the only problem is the .bsp file name. If you compile it with different names corresponding to each update, there won't be any compatibility problems.

I've tried changing the name but I got some errors both from the .nav and .nmo files and unproper lightning due to name change, so for now I've reverted back to the original name. You probably mean I should compile it with a different name, right?
I also have the map here on Gamebanana [gamebanana.com] in a .rar which I always keep up-to-date. You guys can maybe download that in the meantime.

@Doosp The problem is that Workshop downloads don't work for dedicated servers on 1.10. This issue is hopefully going to be resolved in 1.10.1, but in the meantime, server owners are still using fastdl servers instead of WS downloads. This causes player disconnects with the error "map differs from server", unless said players are suscribed to this item. Modifying the name to something like "nmo_deviation_v3" would avoid this problem, since we can just replace the old files with these ones, and players will download the version of the map without conflicting with the older one. This should only be necessary until the bug is fixed.

@Pla3, map should update automatically. Manually delete old files for the new ones if it's causing problems. You should always have the newest version of the map since I'll be fixing and tweaking stuff overtime.

Hey everyone!
Thanks one more time for all the support and feedback, you guys rock!

@Porkchops4lunch: thanks for your constructive feedback, I really can see what I've missed out on the map.

I'll try and fix as much as possible to make this map as good an experience as I can before moving on to other projects.
I'll also tinker with the zombie amounts as many people suggested.

Also a huge thanks @everyone who is hosting this map on their server!

As a final note, I am indeed planning another map with a whole different setting and tone. This was a test of my skills and a personal goal, the next one will be a much better polished work, as I feel I rushed some of the content here.

Hey! Great map, really like it, but I would like to ask to balance amount of zombies. at some places there are no zombies, at some places there are too much of them.
I really like the objectives, great job on them!

- I would avoid using brush doors if you can, plenty of props to choose from.
- Add some slack to your power lines / generator lines
- Would be worthwhile to add some soundscapes or even just a roomtone.
- Might want to do a major Vphysics clip pass to prevent people from throwing quest items over the walls.
- Add a melon (mandatory).
- A displacement layer for under your sewer water would be pretty cute.
- Don't forget about your boi cubemap

Very impressive. Your displacement work is a strong highlight. I hope you do a second map that puts a heavy focus on your strength there.

Some suggestions if I may provide:
- Do a major lighting pass. Lighting can really make or break a map. I'm guilty of making dark maps and while its fun to do, I find players generally don't like not being able to see anything.
- Make use of the roof trim props and door trim props. These would make significant improvements alone.
- The truck yard is wide open and easy to cheese, replace the brush containers with more shipping container props.
- Although I didn't experience any frame rate issues, your map appears to have very large open areas in the map (truck area/apartment) this is difficult on performance if you choose to continue detailing.

Just back from the test to say how good this map is! Great job! Thank you :)
Also just wanted to add some suggestions:
1. Add more zombies and runners on the map before ending (especially in a sewer)
2. Some lighting fix and changes (like make it darker maybe (tunnel and sewer))

Overall I really enjoyed to play this, keep it up :)

Nice contribution. We've been running short of new NMO maps lately. I'll test it out tonight in my server and I'll post some feedback here, both bug reports and suggestions to improve it. Thanks!

Hey y'all thanks for your kind comments and much appreciated feedback.

I'll try and fix those horrendous lighting flickering bugs. I noticed them while playtesting but I didn't seem to understand what was causing them, so I just left them be since they don't always show up.
I was also aware of the doors problems as stated by Hectic Morder: I felt it would be of help when playing solo but probably it's just better to fix them.
