Bodyboarder2528 Mar 8, 2021 @ 4:35pm
would like to see a fix to this as it prevents players from jumping without the block even being in the world or near them and they either get jump too short trying to jump 1000km or obstuction in the way when they are no where near anything
Bodyboarder2528 Jan 31, 2021 @ 6:25pm
any chance on getting this updated?
Igneus Tempus Jan 16, 2021 @ 12:40am
can we have your permission to make a fixed version of it?
Pixel Ninja Dec 6, 2020 @ 11:39am
I've encountered a problem where I cannot jump close to modded planets with this mod installed (I get the message that I cannot jump into a gravity well), even with no jump inhibitors in the world; all of the base game and DLC planets work fine, but the closest I can get to a modded planet is around 1,000km (nearly 3 hours travel at maximum speed). I've checked through all the listed limitations and have confirmed that everything should work. Only removing this mod (or of course the planet mod) fixes the problem.
Origin_Alpha_43 Aug 10, 2020 @ 2:14am
oh and sometimes, other mods are to blame, like that nullPointer Error discussion
got errors on good bunch of mods after installing one mod, just gotta back track the last installed mods... Easy
Origin_Alpha_43 Aug 10, 2020 @ 2:11am
@Zkillerproxy I just tested, it works
some people have issues when others dont, either im one for whom it works or the others are just working it wrong xD

ps: but that was just in a quick creative world, so i'll check later in my survival, once i get to make one
Zelious  [author] Aug 9, 2020 @ 9:11pm
@Alpha_43 I just had a quick scrub through that stream and w4sted said he tested it and it was working, then it wasn't after the update. So the most recent update may have broken it, then again I haven't updated this in 2 years so who knows what's went wrong since I made it. I certainly had no idea what I was doing when I made it! XD
Origin_Alpha_43 Aug 9, 2020 @ 6:45pm
Anyone asking if this still works
Watch the Vanguard Serie by W4stedspace, Ep4, streamed yesterday
xanchoq Mar 10, 2020 @ 7:41pm
as an idea, if this could be "targeted" and use wattage based on distance to target and size of target (block count, large/small etc) would be a nice roll play change. maybe a turret?
novoscorp Jan 16, 2020 @ 1:50am
Oh. and can this mod be used in single player against NPCs ?
novoscorp Jan 16, 2020 @ 1:45am
Hey there ! Does anyone know if theis mod still works ?
Ken Stormwolf Oct 15, 2019 @ 4:18pm
One Question: Can you increase the field when you stack inhibitor blocks ontop of one another ie put two of them together?
Ronin Planetary Industries Sep 14, 2019 @ 7:42am
Can you do a version that damages jump drives that attempt to jump when in the inhibitor field? I think there's another inhibitor mod that does this but it's not as nice as this one.
Dorimanx Jul 25, 2019 @ 1:49pm
We have same problem as
StarCpt/DarklordGaming
Cant jump anywhere!
when using fixgrid command provided by torch, then works, for short time, it's broken when ship has more than ONE jump drive, and we have extended range mod, X16 more than stock, this may brake some buffer or something in mod, please fix it, nice mod, but brake the server.
abuseJUNKEY Apr 24, 2019 @ 9:45pm
@Kondor • Provides terminal options for preventing jumps originating within the field and for preventing jumps into the field.

But it does say it in the description.
MallCop Apr 9, 2019 @ 10:49am
Will this stop you jumping to the inhibitor? This was not mentioned in the mod description but it was in the comments.
M0rsla Mar 23, 2019 @ 11:33am
@Pixel Ninja and @StarfleetCap/Darklord69
Fired up a new server and only added this mod, issue still happened. I believe the issue is just inside this mod and not a conflict.
Pixel Ninja Feb 2, 2019 @ 1:29am
@StarfleetCap/Darklord69

I encountered the same issue a while back and was both unable to find a solution (short of recreating the affected world from scratch), and unable to replicate the issue in a simple test world.

Are you using any other mods in the world where you are having this issue; If so, could you list them out. By comparing mod lists, we might be able to find a conflict that could be causing trouble.
StarCpt Feb 1, 2019 @ 6:41pm
with this mod I cant jump with any of my ships even there are no inhibitors in area
overwerk Jan 21, 2019 @ 2:08am
@Willord01 nah, but i think it is intentional for gameplay purposes. just like in eve when you bubble it does not make any distinctions. i think it would be too powerfull if it allowed only friendlies to jump in and not enemies. still, you can still just turn off the jump in field when your friends jump in and reactivate it afterwards
Willord01 Jan 15, 2019 @ 11:03am
Dose it allow friendly ships to jump into it's radius? This could be good to block your attackers and not your reinforcements.
Kothe Jan 5, 2019 @ 6:38am
All good, found the functionality elsewhere!
Voltem Jan 5, 2019 @ 5:48am
VVV how about you coordinate together, upload it, download it then immediately delete that file VVV
Kothe Dec 12, 2018 @ 2:16am
Ah, that would be problematic due to it being an active world from a PVP server. Don't want to allow players to get a sneak peak at bases, etc. Hmm
Zelious  [author] Dec 10, 2018 @ 6:36pm
+Kothe It's easiest if you just upload it to the workshop and put a link here.
Kothe Dec 10, 2018 @ 5:33pm
Happy to send you a world save. I'll send you a friend request.
Zelious  [author] Dec 10, 2018 @ 4:39pm
+Kothe +C'Thulu's intern, These sound like problems that people have reported before and I've been unable to replicate, the only way I'm going to be able to help is if I'm sent a world where it is currently happening.
Kothe Dec 8, 2018 @ 4:17am
When running offline this seems to work great. However as soon as I installed it on my dedicated server (run on Torch) everyone in the world became unable to use their drives, even without a single inhibitor block being placed.

Drives would report that they could not jump due to being a static grid, or the drives would simply refuse to recharge. Logging in and out, converting to and from station, and restarting server did not help.
Nuttercater1 Dec 4, 2018 @ 12:06pm
I think a recent update may have screwed with your mod mate. Once the jump inhibitor affects a jump drive that drive will always say that a jump distance is too short, even if the inhibitor is destroyed. The only fix I found was to delete the ship and paste it back in again once the inhibitor was destroyed.
Uncle MIRV Nov 26, 2018 @ 1:00am
Awesome. I've wanted this mod for years.
Zelious  [author] Nov 18, 2018 @ 3:28am
+Pixel Ninja Stable and experimental branches stopped being a thing a while back, the current most recent version that everyone should be using is 1.188
Pixel Ninja Nov 18, 2018 @ 2:15am
It's just ocured to me that some of us may be using different versions of the game; if one person encounters an issue in the stable branch, it might not be replicable in the experimental branch, or visa versa.
Zelious  [author] Nov 17, 2018 @ 3:10pm
+Lord Syanide I wasn’t able to get that to happen, as soon as I got away from the asteroid it was fine... I really don’t know what to do, it’s hard for me to debug something I can’t replicate. :/
Lord Syanide Nov 17, 2018 @ 11:29am
I thought that at first, but onmce the error occurs, I have flown around and attempted the blind jump from multiple points of origin, as well as towards multiple directions, and it keeps giving the same error, so maybe once it encounters the error, even if a legitimate one, it wont allow another jump after that seemingly no matter what.
Zelious  [author] Nov 16, 2018 @ 7:41pm
+Lord Syanide well that one and the "jump aborted distance too short" are the same error but the latter is if it occurs after you press jump. They both happen when you try to jump through an asteroid and the game shortens the jump to just before the asteroid but that makes the jump less than the min 5km. I think what's happening is you are occasionally trying to jump through an asteroid without realising, and that would explain why it only happens occasionally and only after moving around a bit. If you experience it again have a look and see if there are any asteroids between you and your destination, so we can confirm whether this is what’s happening or not.
Lord Syanide Nov 16, 2018 @ 7:22pm
Honestly I got a few different ones. That one, nothing at all, and then most often, the jump aborted distance too short one.
Zelious  [author] Nov 16, 2018 @ 5:56pm
+Lord Syanide I've been able to get "Obstacle Detected! Jump distance will be truncated. \nDistance to destination: 278.1m Minimum jump distance 5000m" is that what you were getting?
Lord Syanide Nov 16, 2018 @ 5:04pm
Played a fair amount today, still working fine without mod loaded :/
Lord Syanide Nov 16, 2018 @ 5:03pm
I hope it helps! Let me know if you cant reproduce and Il see what I can do to set up the circumstance it fails in
Lord Syanide Nov 16, 2018 @ 5:02pm
I believe this is the one, often times it took me a few jumps and re-directing of the destination to get it to produce the error:

Zelious  [author] Nov 16, 2018 @ 4:24pm
+Lord Syanide in that case is there any way you could send me the world?
Lord Syanide Nov 15, 2018 @ 9:34pm
White text just on the screen, looks like a vanilla warning I think, but still no issues with identical saves, only difference is this mod :/
Zelious  [author] Nov 15, 2018 @ 8:49pm
+Lord Syanide like Pixel Ninja's "cannot jump into gravity well" your "Jump disabled, distance too short" isen't my mod, I think that is a vanilla warning. If that is the case, then my mod has already decided that you can jump and passed over to the vanilla games code to handle the actual jumping. How does the message appear, like is it in a popup box or just on the screen, and what colour is it? That should be enough information to find out what is giving the warning.
Lord Syanide Nov 15, 2018 @ 7:43pm
I have also, according to what some here have said, encountered some issues with jumping in worlds with this mod enabled. I've done extensive 1 by 1 mod el;imation testing and before disabling this mod I was able to complete 1-3 jumps and then kept getting the "Jump disabled, distance too short" message when around nothing and with a clear-shot blind jump set up. Happened on both offline and online servers. Have not been able to reproduce since disabling this mod. I love the concept, so I am hoping that this helps to have it fixed! Thanks for your work!
Pixel Ninja Nov 11, 2018 @ 3:58am
After a lot more testing, I have been unable to replicate the issue on any other world; at this point, I think I should just put the work into moving everything over to a new one. I come back here if I figure out what caused it.
Zelious  [author] Nov 10, 2018 @ 9:11pm
+Mystogan yes, so long as you update the jump drive with that new gps, it can have the same name and location no problem.
Mystogan Nov 10, 2018 @ 9:06pm
@Zkillerproxy - I see, so if I just delete a GPS coordinate, I can re-create one and use it instead?
Zelious  [author] Nov 10, 2018 @ 3:30am
+Pixel Ninja Very odd, this mod does nothing with natural gravity so the only reason why you would be getting that message is if space engineers thought you were jumping into a gravity well. This mod also does nothing to your jump target so it’s not like it could have changed your jump target to one in gravity or anything. I really don't know why this would be happening, if you could test in a world without planets that might help. If you could send me the afflicted save (compress to zip will make it a tiny file that you could upload to OneDrive or something, then you can create a link to it) that would help a lot.
Pixel Ninja Nov 10, 2018 @ 2:13am
B.T.W. I was removing the mods one by one and testing inbetween each removal.
Pixel Ninja Nov 10, 2018 @ 2:12am
+Zkillerproxy I originaly belived this to be the case. However, I was a good distance from any plannets and facing away from all of them. I therefor suspected that it was one of the mods that I was running. After keeping the ship in place and removing mods, I discovered that I could only jump when I removed this mod specificaly.
