After applying the new option, the biotech version baby is no longer being born. Thank you so much!!
Ascythian Sep 25 @ 9:01pm
Is there a mod that adds babies at 0 years old that interacts with this mod in 1.6 like the old Babies & Children?
Dylan  [author] Sep 25 @ 11:40am
I just updated the mod:

Version 1.7.7.7 (Changes for Rimworld 1.5 and 1.6+)

- (Both) Fix: Fertility was not always shown correctly with Biotech and CSL
- (Both) Fix: Textbooks should now up correctly when the classroom bonus is calculated

- (1.6) new option: "Try to block other births (Biotech, experimental)" (in the "Birth"-category) to try extra hard to block other birth during a CSL birth (preventing multiple / duplicate children)

@Moruba - No problem, let me know if the option does change anything if you turn it on. If it does not change anything I can still try to block it earlier/later.
(If it does not work it would help if you turn on "Always show child species dialog" and see if the extra child already exists when the dialog shows up, or if it appears after that.)

I'm truly grateful for your kindness! I'm sorry I can't fully express my gratitude because I'm using a translator since my English isn't good. Thank you so much again.:steamhappy:

@Moruba - I will try to see if I can add another option with the next update that maybe blocks the basegame even harder from spawning anything from the pregnancy during the birth, so keep those saves around, maybe you can test if it helps.
Moruba Sep 23 @ 9:45pm
It seems like it's just an issue with my game environment. I haven't seen any pregnancy or birth-related error logs, but since I'm using a lot of mods, it seems like a bug is occurring somewhere. Sorry for bothering you... Thank you so much for your reply. I hope you have a great day.
Moruba Sep 23 @ 9:44pm
I can tell you they weren't twins. One was born with trait inheritance, skill inheritance, and passions from your mod system, but the other had traits, skills, and passions from the biotech system (everything at 0, with random traits). I tested this dozens of times by loading saves while toggling settings on and off, and what I described initially always happened.
The very first case I tested was before using your mod, when pregnancy occurred via the biotech system (I saved during childbirth and then applied your mod). So I finished that test for now and continued playing with your mod applied. Another couple got pregnant and gave birth, and it was still the same case.
I've now started a new game. Unlike the first and second cases, both couples giving birth were Baseliner, yet the same symptoms still occurred. The previous cases involved HAR species and Baseliner couples. (For detail, the first was Miho species and the second was Ratkin gene species.)
Dylan  [author] Sep 23 @ 11:10am
@Moruba - If you have the settings at default (X for the first settings) it should just be from CSL (are you sure they are from both and not just twins? could you load a save and see what happens at birth again? You could also turn on "Always show child species dialog" under "Birth" that way you could choose some HAR species or maybe "Ghoul" as the CSL children should have that species then and if there is another child without it there really is a bug) (it could be another mod of course)
Moruba Sep 22 @ 11:12pm
I was using your mod right after checking for updates, but it seems like I can't override the Biotech pregnancy feature with your mod's pregnancy feature?
When I turned off the first and second settings in your mod, both the Biotech version baby and your mod version baby were born at the same time.
When I turn both settings on, the Biotech version baby is born. I just want to override the Biotech pregnancy function with your mod's function, but is that impossible?
I remember it worked in version 1.5, but I don't know if that function is blocked in this version or if I'm setting it up wrong. Please help me...T-T

A lot of people had asked for a mod with only the school part from "Children, school and learning", especially since Biotech added children.

While going through the code to remove the HugsLib dependecy I cleaned it up enough to shrink down the work of extracting only the school-part. (It should be exactly the same as the current CSL-version: "1.7.7.6")

@Moruba - No problem ^^ better late than never ;D
Moruba Sep 22 @ 9:32am
OH GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE UPDATE
Dylan  [author] Sep 21 @ 8:45pm
Sorry for not updating the mod in a long time, I just updated it to 1.6 and also fixed some things in 1.5:
(thanks for all the messages about 1.6 - don't try to use CSL with a version it is not released for)

Version 1.7.7.6 (Changes for Rimworld 1.5 and 1.6+)

- (Both) Fix: Respect 'can reproduce' from HAR + option to ignore it
- (Both) Fix: Young children should now be carried to bed when no using Biotech
- (Both) Fix: Tribe backstory not working correctly and random backstory was assigned

- (Both) Option to learn beyond level 20 in school (when using a mod that allows this)

- (1.6) New default age for born children: 0 with Biotech and 7 without (if not configured at all)

- (1.6) Removed HugsLib dependency (This also means that settings are back to default if you come from 1.5 and you have to configure the mod again if you made changes)
Dylan  [author] Sep 21 @ 8:45pm
@tatzelwesen - This mod removes the need for resources, if nothing else works:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2382501200
(It does work with 1.6)
Dylan  [author] Sep 21 @ 8:39pm
@All - See the second screenshot if you want to use just the school part.
@TeH_Dav, Tae - I will have another look at it, how much work it would be to have only the school-part.

@LZIM, Sleban - thanks for answering questions ^^

@viirinsoftworks - If you still trying to do that, what would be needed for it options/behaviour wise?

@Wolfslieder, Target - You can now set the max level that can be learned in the "School"-category (1.5 + 1.6)

@GBM,RylostKya - I still have to look at facial animations compatibility

@SiaNKs - Did you also disable the scaling options in the "Size"-category?

@zooishgirl - I will take a look at "Simple Learning"
Dylan  [author] Sep 21 @ 8:39pm
@GodPhase777 - Just the usual decompiling way, sry

@thaipuff288, "EnDo TG" - I will have a look at "A Rimworld of Magic"-lessons

@tatzelwesen - Not sure, there was a mod that removes the need for resources,

@Mankind_member(-_-) - It shouldn't influence it, but if you really are not sure you can turn on "Log debug info messages" way at the bottom and turn on Development-mode for Rimworld under "General"-settings, when the hearts vanish you will see a bunch of messages in the log that tell you how the chances are calculated. (also some mod species prevent intentionally in some rare cases)

@Emelio Lizardo - I hope this is now fixed, at least they should if the child is in bed in my testing

@tri_idias - I will have a look at that

@"此猪八两重得名朱重八" - I will have a look at the Hospital-mod

@Classy. - I am really not sure why that would happen. You could try turning off all messages with "Send CSL pregnancy message" in the "Pregnancy"-category

Is anyone able to replicate for 1.6 just the Children portion of this, if all the other aspects cant be compatible with 1.6 perhaps just this one portion, love colonists giving birth o 14 year old colonists ready to work haha
mrcoolize Sep 2 @ 8:07pm
Cause game breaking errors in 1.6 :(
Pulg Sep 2 @ 7:12pm
I love this mod too. I would be happy to see a version 1.6.
Sr.K Sep 2 @ 12:00pm
Vanilla need it 1.6
Emelio Lizardo Sep 1 @ 11:07am
No one is getting pregnant. The mod does not show up in the options menu.
non mobile children starve to death because mom forgets to feed them. Need a basket for them that attracts food.
Therius Aug 30 @ 10:40pm
Wounded colonists cannot be fed in 1.6, mod has to be removed to prevent death by malnutrition.
Ambiabstract Aug 29 @ 12:39pm
Love this mod. Really want 1.6 version 💔
spruce_goose Aug 28 @ 2:34pm
Any 1.6 status updates on this awesome mod?
Wurruhy Aug 18 @ 7:26am

On version 1.5 not might been make schedule and not might be configure (not have this mod on mod setting).
Agaros007 Aug 16 @ 10:02am
cant feed wounded colonists with this mod
xZayah Aug 7 @ 3:13pm
we need 1.6 version, this one doesnt work anymore....
2kamilos1 Aug 7 @ 2:32pm
Default options are stupid, i wanted a mod to add more things to do with babies/kids but i got something like sterile wife and kid spawn with 14 years by default xd
I dont know how many things are set that way so i will just remove the mod i dont have time for these
Archangel Aug 3 @ 1:24pm
@Agaros007 I did not have such a problem, however, the debug action menu does not open. I didn't find any other problems.
Agaros007 Aug 1 @ 7:31pm
@Archangel there seems like a problem with the heads of babys beeing to big. the mod creator dosnt react, i requested an update by mlie, besides that, there are no errors reported in steam at least.
Archangel Aug 1 @ 10:57am
Has anyone tried it on 1.6? Is it working?
LZIM Jul 29 @ 9:03pm
@dominicawb

it has been since biotech but as is plain with the other DLC, it is watered down to uselessness
dominicawb Jul 29 @ 8:50pm
I'm flabbergasted that this functionality hasnt been added to the base game. Not even in Biotech??? NEED an update to this asap
hhmall1362 Jul 28 @ 10:18pm
1.6?
kdubkris Jul 25 @ 9:16pm
I'm surprised how much I miss this mod, please make sure to give us a link to buy you a coffee once this is done!
JeanPapyr Jul 25 @ 10:10am
please make a version to 1.6
LansdowneSt Jul 19 @ 12:13pm
would anyone consider making/know if there is a mod that just shows pregnancy duration? I think this mod is whats making that detail visible in my game and it's a nice QoL feature I would like to have in 1.6 if this mod doesn't update.
Eric Jul 14 @ 3:22am
are you currently working on the mod?
LZIM Jul 13 @ 7:34pm
o7
WillEatCookiesForFood Jul 13 @ 10:20am
Adding to the usual litany hoping that this updates to 1.6! This is one of my must-haves for Rimworld playthroughs, and I'd be very sad to see it go.
Pulg Jul 13 @ 3:52am
Update 1.6 pls :-)
TheOneTrueDemoknight Jul 13 @ 2:04am
This mod does not work on 1.6
Vava | Deborah Anderson Jul 12 @ 2:40am

King DaMuncha Jul 11 @ 10:39pm
@ELP This mod has a option to turn off / on biotech support and handling of pregnancy.
King DaMuncha Jul 11 @ 10:37pm
please update
⚡ÆLP⚡ Jul 11 @ 2:23pm
1.6?
good old fox Jul 10 @ 6:46am
can there be a version just for the school system rimworld biotech already got pregnancy and kids
LZIM Jun 23 @ 7:55pm
@spencer

if you didnt find it yet it is the maximum learning age, also you and tweak teaching age for biotech since theres no reason kids cant be useful for teaching classes and if you have therapy counseling your pawns.
Spencer Jun 18 @ 3:49am
Says I can change a setting to allow adult pawns to attend school but I can't seem to find the setting anywhere?
tri_idias Jun 16 @ 7:09am
Hopefully there's an update to this. I like the learning portion of this mod better than the biotech one.
TehNoobinator117 Jun 10 @ 8:44am
I'm having the same issue with broken body proportions. I haven't encountered children not being born, but I have yet to have anything other than a baseliner give birth.
